I have T-Mobile G2X
But the problem is the same, fixed it by disabling Screen Filter
Install latest gapps and try again.
It did the trick for me
there's a known problem with screen filter
do you have it activated?
app admin
I use a free application called app admin. It helps me install apk's from sd card. Never had a problem with CM7.

I'm using Screen Filter and I have no problems. But you can try without it so it should work.

It seems after using Metamorph update 1.8 to apply some mods, the Market breaks. The Market will browse to and download apps without any problem, but as soon as it starts to install the downloaded app, it force closes. Anyone else have this issue? I've seen several people post about this yesterday, suspecting Metamorph was the culprit, and now I've found this to be true. Any fix for this?

No. Download tab here, not T-Mobile. Thanks though.
If its a animation, then reflash the rom to remove them.

Huh? No, it's not an animation, and removing the themes and even Metamorph itself didn't fix the Market. Reflashing the ROM did nothing. Had to wipe. Was able to reproduce.

OK then, thanks.
What I think is happening is that with the new update, the market is looking for keys that do not exist after the market is metamorphed. It is an easy fix without wiping though, just press menu --> settings --> applications --> manage applications --> market --> uninstall updates
Then go back to the market and enjoy your downloads.
can anyone confirm that uninstalling udates in the market works? I quit using MM because of this
Can't confirm. Ditched Metamorph for the time being.
Yes if you unistall the market update if will work

i can confirm. done it several times. actually did it about an hour ago. it's happened several times to me and uninstalling updates has worked every time.
I have a Galaxy S I9000M, just came back from repair at the Montreal Repair Depot.
Had some trouble unlocking it to run on Fido network, but finally got that working using Helroz's unlock tool (so, phone is rooted) and unlocked).
Used it for a little while (about an hour) installed a couple of apps, and now, suddenly, I cannot install apps from the Android Market. When I try to install, the app goes through the process of downloading, but then it does nothing. I get no error message, no notice of install failing, the app download indicator disappears from my notification area, and the app is not installed.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Any idea of a fix? I have powered off/on, no change. I would prefer to avoid having to factory reset, but will do so if absolutely necessary.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Having the same exact problem here...
same issue
Same thing is happening to me as well. It started after I rooted my phone using super one click root.
I also used super one click root on my phone, but the if that's the cause of the problem, then it doesn't cause it right away. I was able to install several apps after rooting, then suddenly I couldn't install anything.
I have read that for some people, unmounting the SD card will work. i had an external SD card installed, but i had that in before I downloaded apps that installed properly. For me, unmounting (and removing) the external SD card did not have any effect on my problem.
For what it's worth, I'm not running any special ROm or anything - just standard Froyo 2.2 (JL2) as released by Samsung for the Bell I9000M (I didn't upgrade, it shipped back from repair with JL2 installed).
Same here

Would anyone know if this is a sudden common problem or any ways to fix this?
Same thing happening to me on my Vibrant and Galaxy Spica 2.1 used the themed markets and still the same thing

let the market update the new version of maps and itll work. its workin now for me.
How can I force Maps to update?
Just some info guys: it seems to be a known issue. Checked the help in the main Market page: http://market.android.com/support/bin/static.py?page=known_issues.cs .
It's under download and installation issues. Please report it if you're having the same problem so they can fix it faster.
Ok the problem seems to be fixed by downloading/updating the Google Maps app. If it still doesn't work make sure to:
-clear data on the market app
-restart your phone
-update Google map and let it install fully
Galaxyluv, can you tell me how to force Maps to update itself? I cannot find any option to make it update

I am not really sure, mine showed that it needed an update. Maybe you can try to uninstall/install Google Map again and make sure to clear data on the market application FIRST.
After clearing my Market cache, and uninstalling market updates, market re-updated itself, and I can now install apps again (who knows fo how long, though). Hopefully, it will stay and i will stay happy.
Under Manage Applications I can't uninstall Market Updater for the above solution.
Any help?
im haviing the same issue guys, i have put a post up with same sort of problems

gonna try this now cheers
Sorry could I get some clarification on the suggestion jayisgod posted? Cos Im obviously missing something here.
I personally force stopped the market App, cleared the data in Manage Applications (btw the Cache button is grayed out) and then restarted the Market app (Agreed on the terms blah blah) and still get the same issue.
Btw in Manage Applications -> All I can see a Market Updater package but I can't delete it or force stop it (both options are grayed out).
Thanks
PS: I am using Darky's Rom V9.1 if that makes any difference

I'm running cm 9.1.0, and for some reason I cannot get any apps that track run distances/times to install on my phone. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean you can't get them to install? You get an error during install? It installs but does not work? Do you have problems installing any other apps?

No problems installing any other apps. Every time I try to install the apps (run tracker, Nike+, jog tracker, MapMyRun, etc) I click install, it acts like it is installing, then it just says "application not installed" (see attached pic). It has done this with every single.run tracking app I have tried. I was having GPS problems, and I thought it was attached to the same issue, but I got my GPS fixed, yet they still will not install. I have tried free and pro versions. Ideas?
have you checked the sensors? you can find several apps on google play that do this.
search 'yuksel' on google play will bring up a sensor and gps monitor app that works on captivate.
here's a screenshot

Hey guys, when I go to install an apk file, the "install" button cannot be pressed, but the "cancel" button can. I have used this method several times in the past and it has worked. I recently upgraded to Sense 6 on AT&T. My phone is completely stock (no rooting or unlocking). And yes my unknown sources button is checked. Hope this is a quick fix :/ I read somewhere else that "JuiceDefender" was causing that issue a while back but I use AVG and CM antivirus. So what could be the issue?
Thanks in advance!

I went and found a common app (instagram) from a 3rd party source and it would not let me install it either. ): I know instagram is compatible with my phone and OS.
figured it out

I read about how some apps that messed with the screen brightness may affect the ability to install new apps. I deleted apps until I came across the problem: Echo Lock screen. My package installer is now working again.
I am running cyanogen mod 12 nightly on my sony xperia z3 compact and any .apk file i download and click the install button I get an immediate message saying "app not installed". this happens with every .apk i try to install that I have downloaded from anywhere other than the play store.

Check whether you have installed a screen related app like Screen Filter, Auto Brightness or Blue Light Filter. Pause or uninstall and then check whether it's fixed or not. It worked for me.
