Still No Froyo

Whoever can help with this I will offer sexual favours to,
I purchased my galaxy s online about 2 months ago. I have a sneaky suspicion that its locked to CarphoneWarehouse but i'm not sure. I have an o2 sim card in but I still cannot upgrade to froyo via kies. A family member has the same phone and got his instore and has just upgraded to froyo and he's with carphonewarehouse on o2. Is there a reason I cannot upgrade mine? I've waited for so long all I want is a bit of Froyo.

Also, I tried the kies hack a month ago but it just upgraded me to 2.1 update. I dont know if this unrooted the phone and has made it illegible for the upgrade.

i dunno about the sexual favour so i will try to help u for free. ;-) you can check your version and if it's possible to upgrade it officially by checking the registry or u can bypass all that by just altering the registry and patch a dll.
do you have the latest kies?
is carphonehouse a network or just a seller?(sorry i'm not from england)

i've just re-downloaded kies so i will try that but checking the registry to see if i'm able to upgrade sounds good, how do i do that? Then if these both dont work i'll be happy to change the regirst and download the patch,

Nooooo, I still cant through kies. Useless software.

I have an unbranded, unlocked i9000 on vodaphone in the UK, and I had a similar problem after trying to hack the registry to download the Noric version of 2.2 last month. Instead, I got a 'updated' 2.1, and whever I tried using Kies to upgrade, I get the message 'this device cannot be updated', even after hacking the registry again.
The problem, as explained in this article (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series&oldid=10462), seems to be that my copy of Kies is too new. I suspect you might have the problem. Go to the link and download an older version of Kies (1.5.3.10093_82), then with Kies running and your phone connected to the PC, change the registry values to:
LocalVer: 1.5.3.10103.100
SoftwareRevision: I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
ProductCode: GT-I9000HKDXEU
HIDSWVER: I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
Close the registry and check for phone firmware upgrade using Kies. It worked for me.
My phone is now:
Model number: GT I9000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: I9000XXJPP
Kernel Verson: 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#1
Build number: Froyo:XXJPO
The registry values are now:
SoftwareRevision: I9000XXJPO/I9000OXAJPO/I9000XXJPP/I9000XXJPO
ProductCode: GT-I9000HKAXEU
HIDSWVER: I9000XXJPO/I9000OXAJPO/I9000XXJPP/I9000XXJPO
Lastly, can anyone tell me if I've got the stock UK rom, and whether GT-I9000HKAXEU is the UK country code, as I cannot find this product code in the database anywhere.

PDA:JP5 PHONE:JPP CSC:JP3 (EUR)
I've a problem. when i updated to froyo from eclair i've used "kies registry patcher" and i've changed csc to jp3 (eur), i suppose, i not remember exactly what i've done..
Now, when i try to update to 2.2.1 , no update is available for my galaxy.
What can i do?

You changed product code ??
Changed CSC
Kies does not know what your phone is .
Its not got the details that match the firmware for that brand of phone .
Kies only reads phone product hardware and firmware id .
Looking for a match to its database none found .
OR for the product code etc you are showing Kies there is no update .

Try SpoofFw on market. I released it today and it will let you change the info that kies reads now when registry patcher don't work.
Let me know if it works out for you.

Kinda the same you did before?
Download Kies registry patcher for Kies 2.0 and spoof what you want in Kies 2.0 and check for an update?
Btw before you do that , read all the "warning, important" and backup efs and etc you know the drill

If you want to change your Product Code you can use this code *#272*imei#* but this will wipe all your data

Install new firmware via clock work mod. forget about that keis junk.

[Q] Kies Firmware update problem

Hello all,
I have tried to search regarding this issue but did not get any real clear answer to have to solve the problem.
When I check for new firmware for my Galaxy tab 8.9 (GT-P7300) in Kies it says: your device does not support software upgrading via kies
I have had different firmwares in my tab latest ICS_CM9, but I tried to restore original firmware with Clockwork_Recovery_5.5.0.4
But somehow my backup does not seam to be approved by Kies.
When my tab was brand new I wrote down the info from About and this is the data:
Model Number: GT-P7300
Android Version : 3.1
Baseband Version : P7300XXKHC
Kernel version : 2.6.36.3 [email protected]#1 SHP PREEMPT fri Sep 2 16:00:16 KST 2011
Build number : HMJ37 P7300XWKI1
Also could someone from that data say what country model this Tab is supposed to be, I live in Finland (and its bought here) but I don´t get it to add up ...
Any ideas how to get kies to approve my firmware? Soon ICS will be released by Samsung and I like to test the official version. And to do that I probably need to have kies up and running.
This as I like to do it official way , and not true Odin ...

You need to reflash stock firmware, and remove root if you are rooted. Then kies will work.

I now tried to reflash stock firmware to something i thing was same version as I had from the beginning (http://hotfile.com/dl/145798475/58cc500/P7300XWKI1.zip.html).
I also removed root rights and put back stock recovery, but now kies don't even see what software version i have on my Tab. current software version is blank.
Any more ideas ?

Install app name check fus, it tell you tab product code.
Download lastest stock rom from sammobile.com by select the match version of rom with your product.
Samsung Kies will upgrade only if you have right version of match firmware and product code.

Thanks for this info, learned some more but still no luck as sammobile.com don't seam to have my product codes firmware?
Product code was : GT-P7300UWANEE
Any ides for download place ?

Firstly, Odin is the official way. Samsung service centers use Odin to flash firmware on devices. If official ICS will be released, I'm sure we will get a Odin flashable .tar long before the update will show up in Kies for your Nordic tab. So i don't see the point in worrying about Kies, infact i have never used Kies to update any of my Samsung devices. I just don't trust this crappy software.

[Q] Firmware update problem

I flashed my phone a while back with a 2.36 firmware, i wasn't really sure what i was doing but it worked ok but said that doesn't support uprgrading via kies. I just flashed it again with a samsung firmware version :
PDA I9000XXJW4 CSC I9000OXAJW4 from samfirmware but it still says the same in kies. i noticed that under firmware information it says:
Current firmware version: I9000XXJW4/I9000OXAJW4/I9000OXXJW4/I9000OXXJW4 (KOR) i thought this was a UK/IRE firmware, could someone explain to me why it's saying (KOR)?
i beleived (perhaps incorrectly) that i could go back to original samsung software at a later stage.

Have you rooted your Note or changed ROMs? Kies won't update if you have changed - I got the same message. In all honesty I have flashed custom ROMs as they are better.

I did not rooted, may be the deler did that.... in case the device has been rooted.. how can I rollback ??
and How can I know if my device has been rooted or not ???

There is an app on Google Play called Root Checker. Run this and it will tell you if you have root or not

Dou you have superuser or installed a custom rom or official rom? Or changed kernels? If you did nothing, no root or install yourself you can always go back to dealer store and ask them to replace it.
For rootcheck install and open Supersuser if you cant update binaries, tells you upon opening you dont have root. If you do, in settings you can unroot. Also uninstall it afterwords.
If that doesnt work, you can dl newest rom for your country csc from sammobile.com and install that throught pc odin. Check dr ketans yhread in sticky section of development. Kies sucks anyway.
Next to root check your csc by typing *272*imei# you can get imei from *#06# in dialer. Is an update available for your csc?

Before you do anything, shut off your phone, take out the battery for 20 seconds, put it in again and fire it up. Also reboot your computer.
Retry Kies to see if it works now...

There are many condition in which kies won't allow update
1. Your region may not still got update(but here msg will be - you have latest firmware)
2.Kies version is old
3.Your CSC dont match with your region.
PS : I do recommend just flash using PC odin, here it won't be a matter whether U R rooted r not
