hi, guys i recently bought a galaxy s orange branded on 2.2.1 firmware.
on orange firmware phone kept restarting and on custom roms with correct kernals kept restarting
i flashed lastest 2.3.3 from samfirmware.com via odin with all files, repartition to clear system but still restarting.
is there a faulty orange batch/ download mode and 3 buttons all working on initial orange stock and still working
plus phone was factory reset after flashes via shortcode, and memories formated via settings.
going to try with various microsd and without microsds
anyone any ideas.
I think its bug with jvh kernel,

I did not revert back to my old settings. I checked re partition and installed eclair. Then i flashed doc 5.1 without restoring my settings. Plus i tried to manually push modem.bin file using odin. No result
Can you check if you Flight mode is working or gets stuck? If it gets stuck then there is something wrong with modem version. When it happened to me i had to flash a 2.2 modem to get it to work.
Yes my flight mode did get stuck. But i tried installing new XXJPY firmware's modem through clockwork recovery and still same result. Which one did you flash? Plus my baseband version is unknown in the settings app.
I was on stock JPU at that time,i had flashed it through Odin and by mistake i had not clicked Modem and flashed without it while i was at work. Then i got home and didnt have JPU there but had JPA so i though, wtf,it was on factory reset anyway(after i had a major brick) and flashed the JPA modem on its own,no pit,not repartition, did a factory reset again, clear cache and it worked.Hope it fixes yours too.
Tried that too. Still the same. No difference. I am getting the range in eclair but not in custom firmwares. Plus the baseband is unknown
I just bought my Galaxy S and it came with 2.3, I tried to install CM7 but it left my phone unbootable so I used Odin to install 2.2, after that I tried to upgrade to 2.3 again using Kies but it said the fw I'm using cant be upgraded.
Now still on 2.2 I followed:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
I got to the point where I flash the new kernal and now my phone freezes once it reaches lockscreen. I've tried reflashing lots of times. All I can do is access download mode...is there anyway to just completely restore the phone to 2.3 or CM7 from download mode?
My Galaxy S is i9000 and unbranded from the UK
Thanks for any help
Put Darky and then u can install whatever u want. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
I was recently fooling around with my galaxy s, and at first I was able to flash it with eclair 2.1.
Then I went on to try to flash it to 2.2 so that I could use clockwork mod, root before I tried installing cyanogen mod.
But I'm not sure if I installed the right firmware from samfirmware there are so many different localizations and each one has different versions of 2.2 as well. I know I messed around with the pit files, maybe that caused the problem. But now I can't even flash back to 2.1 with Odin, because as soon as the process completes and Odin says it is a success the galaxy s restarts and displays a frozen loading circle, and then keeps restarting showing the frozen loading circle each time. After pulling out the battery and restarting, now it is a white screen flashing on and off ever 3 or so seconds ....
Can anyone please help me? I CAN access the download mode.
If you have download mode it's not bricked, just flash a rom using odin corresponding to version you already had installed. If you had 2.2 flash 2.2 if you had 2.3 flash 2.3. search youtube for tutorial on how to flash using odin.
Can you try to coming in Download Mode when yes its not bricked

Well, he does use Odin again, so indeed not bricked
Pull out the battery, put it back in, get into the download mode. Download the stock 2.3 firmware from the General forums (XXJVT) and flash it via Odin.
I have no clue which region firmware to download. I was able to flash it using UGKC1_BMCKC1 but now it just stuck on the galaxy S screen...
Does anyone know where I can find a stock 2.2 froyo firmware? samfirmware.com has so many I have no clue which one is right.
Try totallydubbedhd on youtube or darkyrom forum helped me i softbricked mine twice

Hi everyone,
Need help with my international gNote...I bought it in Nigeria and then changed my CSC code to turkey (TUR) so that I can get the official ICS 4.0.3 update OTA. After the update everything worked perfectly fine until one day the phone ran out of battery life and died while I was using it. The problem now is that since then it has never boot past the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 screen. Keeps showing that and going off over and over again. I can still enter download and recovery mode however...so i need your help PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like an odd way to enter a boot loop..
Did you wipe / reset while in Stock ICS?
Best bet would be just re-flash GB Stock for your region in PC Odin and the do the update again... or just flash the ICS ROM for your region..
My mom's Samsung Galaxy Note is currently stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 screen. Tried removing the battery and reinsert then turned it on same problem.
Also I am unable to access the recovery I remembered that I have philz kernel installed on the unit. And im only able to access the download mode.
Also when I flashed the stock roms that I have stored on my computer specifically GB roms it shows that it was successful but when the phone rebooted it is still stuck on the same screen. Not willing to do any more steps as im really out of ideas here. Hope you can help.
BTW my mom is only using the phone for standard use meaning call and text and a few game words like crossword and some solitaire games. And sh said that the phone just turned off then thinking it was due to low battery she charged it then when the battery shows 100% full she disconnected the phone and tried to turn it on that is when the problem occured.
Here is the screenshot of odin. And im a bit concerned about the line where it says "RQT_CLOSE!!!" I don't know what that means.

Some more useful information, the phone was on Jelly Bean Stocked Jelly Bean with custom kernel I forgot if it was Philz or speedmod. Phone is already out of its warranty.
Stuck on the Gt-N7000 screen? It doesn't go into bootloop when you flash the stock GB ROM ? Can you access the stock Android recovery? Remove battery, put it in and then try to access the recovery using the same the button combo used for custom recoveries.
The Odin flash went perfectly, nothing wrong with it.
Friend of mine is having the same issue, flashing to stock UK Jellybean.
Same issue
I'm actually having the same issue as the OP I'm bookmarking this as I am looking for a fix I flashed the Vodafone rom for the united kingdom and am now stuck on the bootscreen for all samsung devices.
Try booting into recovery and reinstalling one of your backups if you can - usually works for me. Clean all caches etc first though.
PC Odin may take a couple of attempts to flash it correctly I've found when I'm trying to repair a major stuff up.

Not working even though flashing stock gb/ics/jb and custom kernels and unable to access recovery only downliad mode. Was trying to use the pif file is it safe I mean it was said to use it as the last option.

Have you tried flashing a kernel through Odin PC and then booting into recovery use one of philz .tar files for the kernel and see if you can get in to recovery sounds like you have lost recovery. This has happened to me and I fixed with philz kernel through PC Odin good luck and also you may need to do a full wipe after flashing a ROM through PC Odin to get it to boot
sent from the darkness
Yup already performed that but stuck on logo snd cant access cwm recovery.
Got mine fixed by doing this procedure which is really weird. Flashed pit with stock gb rom then once finished im still stuck in splash screen decided to flashed ics with pit same results then i flashed jb rom using pc odin with pit after a few minutes i was able to access the menus and all those icons. But the apps and games installed are still on the device which should have been removed when i flashed stock rom.
Flashed philz kernel via mobile odin and wiped factory data and it seems device is working now. Still under observation though.

you are flashing a non wipe rom so the apps will still be there
