Samsung Galaxy Note Stuck on Splash Image/Boot Image - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My mom's Samsung Galaxy Note is currently stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 screen. Tried removing the battery and reinsert then turned it on same problem.
Also I am unable to access the recovery I remembered that I have philz kernel installed on the unit. And im only able to access the download mode.
Also when I flashed the stock roms that I have stored on my computer specifically GB roms it shows that it was successful but when the phone rebooted it is still stuck on the same screen. Not willing to do any more steps as im really out of ideas here. Hope you can help.
BTW my mom is only using the phone for standard use meaning call and text and a few game words like crossword and some solitaire games. And sh said that the phone just turned off then thinking it was due to low battery she charged it then when the battery shows 100% full she disconnected the phone and tried to turn it on that is when the problem occured.
Here is the screenshot of odin. And im a bit concerned about the line where it says "RQT_CLOSE!!!" I don't know what that means.

Some more useful information, the phone was on Jelly Bean Stocked Jelly Bean with custom kernel I forgot if it was Philz or speedmod. Phone is already out of its warranty.

Stuck on the Gt-N7000 screen? It doesn't go into bootloop when you flash the stock GB ROM ? Can you access the stock Android recovery? Remove battery, put it in and then try to access the recovery using the same the button combo used for custom recoveries.
The Odin flash went perfectly, nothing wrong with it.

Friend of mine is having the same issue, flashing to stock UK Jellybean.

Same issue
I'm actually having the same issue as the OP I'm bookmarking this as I am looking for a fix I flashed the Vodafone rom for the united kingdom and am now stuck on the bootscreen for all samsung devices.

Try booting into recovery and reinstalling one of your backups if you can - usually works for me. Clean all caches etc first though.
PC Odin may take a couple of attempts to flash it correctly I've found when I'm trying to repair a major stuff up.

Not working even though flashing stock gb/ics/jb and custom kernels and unable to access recovery only downliad mode. Was trying to use the pif file is it safe I mean it was said to use it as the last option.

Have you tried flashing a kernel through Odin PC and then booting into recovery use one of philz .tar files for the kernel and see if you can get in to recovery sounds like you have lost recovery. This has happened to me and I fixed with philz kernel through PC Odin good luck and also you may need to do a full wipe after flashing a ROM through PC Odin to get it to boot
sent from the darkness

Yup already performed that but stuck on logo snd cant access cwm recovery.
Got mine fixed by doing this procedure which is really weird. Flashed pit with stock gb rom then once finished im still stuck in splash screen decided to flashed ics with pit same results then i flashed jb rom using pc odin with pit after a few minutes i was able to access the menus and all those icons. But the apps and games installed are still on the device which should have been removed when i flashed stock rom.
Flashed philz kernel via mobile odin and wiped factory data and it seems device is working now. Still under observation though.

you are flashing a non wipe rom so the apps will still be there

[Q] I think I'm half bricked.. Help

Hello,
I own a I-897 Captivate model, and I had a custom 2.3.4 gignerbread rom recently..
Latley I tried to move to cognition becuase the other rom did problems for me..
So I followed the guide, and when I first flashed the kernel I wasn't using any pit file..
So it's just stuck on odin with nothing happening, so I closed odin and rebooted my phone.
Then the phone showed me a logo with phone and computer with X between them.
So I flashed again using the pit then I got to the recovery, where I tried to install the cognition 5.2 without succes, it finished the install, but when I rebooted it just kept switching between the boot screen of AT&T and Galaxy S GT I9000..
So I tried to use my Nandroid backup, but it just won't work, I tried to install it manually and still it isn't working..
So I tried to instal my previous rom and succeeded, but now when I reboot it it just loading the Talon logo, finishes it and stuck on the end of the loading without any action...
So, I can use the download mode and odin.
What should I do?
Thank you very much.
What build number is your phone

I have read tons of time,
I tried to install Cyanogenmod, but it seems when I get to the recovery it doesn't work..
I flashed the recovery through CWM, but its very limited and blue not bright green or yellow as always.
I only got 4 options:
Reboot
Re-Install packges
Wipe user data
Wipe cahce
How do I get my recovery work properly?
That's not CMW that's the regular 3e recovery. You'll need to flash a kernel with CMW built in or one with an alternate recovery (I usually use an Onix kernel)

I've flashed a full gingerbread stock rom, with boot loaders and it works fine,
but now I can't get to the download mode, so I cant flash the rooted kernel..
I'm stucked unrooted, How can I root it?
It's Gingerbread 2.3.3 UCKF1 Build stock rom.
Pull out your battery, Sim, and SD card. Plug your usb cable into a usb port on the back of your computer then plug it into your phone. Hold volume up and down then reinsert your battery, should boot into download mode.

If nothing else will do the trick, a last resort can be flashing stock firmware downloaded from sammobile using Odin tuen your phone off use vol down power and home and put phone into download mode put the pit PDA code and modem files in the right place..Google this. This will flash your phone and take you right back to out of the box. This should work. Man I bricked my phone and done this and it sorted me out. Hope I'm of some help. Let me know how it goes. Cheers

While flashing stock is probably the best option, if you are impatient and want a custom rom you can flash one of the Darky resurrection editions in Odin instead. This does the same as flashing stock, but you skip having to root and reflash into a custom rom (assuming you want Darky...).
Flash the latest 2.3.6 XXJVU value pack update...!

I tried this today but found myself in booploops god knows why so I had to go through the piss take of flashing stock, rooting, then installing the rom I wanted. Probably my own fault not reading how to do it properly lol anyhow.. Annoying.

I'm apparently not allowed to post in the OneCosmic thread where it probably make more sense.
I'm getting the black screen on bootup. The touch-buttons (menu and back) still light up when I press them, so it's not dead. I can still go into recovery mode, but before I try another rom, I wanted to ask on here. Here's the process I went through:
Renamed the zip file to update.zip, because it wasn't showing up as an option to install for some reason
Wiped the SD card and returned to factory settings in recovery mode
Booted into recovery mode
Installed from the newly-renamed update.zip, all seemed to install fine
Pressed reboot device
I do want to give this rom a try, so I'll wait a while before trying to put Cyanogen on instead (the Galaxy S is my backup phone, and hasn't been used for close to a year).

Installing ICS stunner...froze on boot??

Hi,
I've been using GB roms/kernels for awhile, and decided to try out ICS. I was following the instructions for stunner and failed at the very first step (flashing stock rom - I used mobile Odin and picked a random stock rom, KJ6 from ketan's thread). It rebooted, flashed, then got stuck on samsung logo vibrating 3 then 1 time, forever. Rebooting didn't help. I tried to get into recovery mode, it worked and got into CWM, and I'm now restoring my nandroid.
Did I do something wrong? My original phone was LC1 when I bought it - should I have used this stock rom instead??
Thanks!
Edit: was using mobile odin the problem? I went back and read ketan's guide..seems like he directs us to use pc odin to flash older roms..
I It sounds like you're already on a properly rooted GB build so you have to flash the correct ICS-REPACK-LC1 through mobile Odin... Then once that's done you'll be in recovery.
Boot up phone and let it settle... Go back into recovery wipe data etc and then flash stunner.
It may hang on first boot and if it does just hold the power button till it reboots.
I personally have never even installed Odin for my pc... I've only used mobile Odin.

[Q] Bricked LPY without wiping?

Hey guys,
I hope you can help me. I am aware of the ICS Kernel Bricking bug, and the faulty chip with the faulty firmware, as described on the xda portal, and I read all the stickies. Nevertheless I want to ask you for your opinion on this matter, to prevent turning my note into a brick
So thats what happend last night:
I was on LPY for about 1 month (since released) with root, stock kernel. Before I was on GB DarkyRom 3.3. Everything went normal until I made 2 changes the last hours:
1. I modified the build.prop with this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687156
2. I installed Super Video (like popup player on the galaxy s3) and had several freezes when I started to watch 2 videos. So I took out the battery like 4 times.
Phone booted normally. So I locked the screen, and went to a party.
Then I realized that within 2 Hours the battery got from 50% to 15%. I was too busy to look at betterbatterystats, so I just rebooted the phone with the stock Power Menu.
Now my phone won't boot anymore. It stucks on "Samsung Galaxy Note N-7000" Screen.
As I said, I have not wiped, or do anything with cwm or 3e recovery. However, I can get into DL mode and 3e recovery.
What can I do now? Flash LPF? Reflash LPY?
I read somewhere by someone, that it could be, that even without wiping, the phone can get brick at anytime... Did that happend to me?
I haven't tried to flash anything else, because I wanted to share this with you and get your opinion.
Thanks in advance
k!DDa
So now donot try anything.I suppose you were in darkyrom 3.3 re.If so,you should have known about the counter. So flash it and you will be fine.I again say it will increase counter if you use 3.3 re.
If you don't want the counter, flash a stock gb rom/stock-rooted gb rom.I prefer 3.3 re because it is a wipe rom
Hi vijai2011,
thanks for your answer but I was on darkyrom BEFORE I switched to LPY (that was just a side note^^)

thats not a problem.you can try.
wow you're fast^^
okay but isn't it possible to revive my note? e.g. just flashing a non wipe ICS version via PC ODIN (I do not care about the counter or triangle)
like criskelos ICS No wipe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609252
the inability to boot you describe sounds like something a corrupted build.prop might cause so it's probably nothing to worry about. you'll need to restore your build.prop somehow, probably by flashing something in Odin
ok thanks, I will try. but one good and one bad thing:
I saved the original build.prop before
But on the internal SD card and not my external ^^
If you want to be absolute sure Flash a stock ICS (a full wipe version) rom from pc odin. If all goes well there is no brickissue for you. Then you root using Dr Ketans method.

No problem. As I said already its better to go for a wipe rom because of the repartition thing...
one last qustion,
I decided to reflash LPY. But it has only an tar.md5 file. I cannot use MobileOdin. Can I just put it in PDA at PC Odin? (Rename it before to .tar?)
The last 20 firmwares I flashed hadn't that extension.

yes that will work fine, but don't rename it. it works as .tar.md5
yes put the md5 in the pda section and flash with pc odin as normal
Thanks guys my phone is booting again

[Q] Galaxy Note stuck on the "GNT7000" logo

I had ICS 4.0.3 installed before which was rooted using CWM and then I decided to install CM9 nighlty after installing the CM9 Rom through CWM i rebooted my phone and it got stuck on the "samsung galaxy note gt n7000" logo.
Ive tried installing many stock roms using ODIN and all of them are stuck on the same thing (2.3.5, 2.3.6, 4.0.3)
I can boot into download mode and recovery mode but in recovery mode my phone gets stuck if i select wipe/data option.
Please help.
You should flash the cm9 from gb not ics. There is a warning there that it must be flash from gb.
sorry but you have brick your phone next time follow the developer instructions before flashing theres a thread on how to revive your phone around search it here in xda

Thanxgood: for the Info guys, but I gave my phone to the service center. thought ill just be worsening the condition of my phone.
Will update you with the procedure the service center people took to repair the phone.
Lol,
Next time flash gb with pit file, then from recovery do factory and cache wipe. Reboot

dude did they fix your note? beacause i already went to service center waiting for my note...
Hi guys just got my phone back from the service center, its working now:laugh:. They replaced the motherboard of my phone and also the binary counter is zero now.
Please suggest me the best way to install CM9 as the stock ICS is not at all good.
and is there a way to get the SNOTE applications on the custom ROM?
follow the isntructions i nthe roms first post and you cant go wrong
no snote only works with touchwiz not cm9/aosp
Make sure you flash stock gb first with pc odin, don't flash anything else from ics, you'll brick for certain.
Then you need to root and cwm and perform full wipe under gb before flashing cm9.
There are various snote alternatives in the play store which I'm sure others will be able to advise you of, but no toucwizz Samsung apps will run under cm rom.
