Just flashed 1.5.20 of miui today.
My headphone icon still comes up on the notification bar, when the headphones arent in. So pretty much im having trouble listening to my music out of my speakers, and when i want to listen to them with my headphones. Dont know if im supposed to wipe something in recovery, Just give me a reply back. thanks.
PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP, I WIPED EVERYTHING AND FLASHED AGAIN AND ITS STILL THE SAME.
I CANT CALL OR TALK ANYMORE. I NEED MY SPEAKER TO WORK SOMEONE HELP.
Just a thought: have you tried flashing back to stock with Odin 1-click, to see if it's still working in a "default" mode? Might want to rule out a hardware problem first.

I bought a rebuild kit from DealExtreme, which included almost everything visible on the phone, except for a new screen. after doing this whole rebuild, everything is just great, and working, except for the fact that there's no sound in any direction when I try to call people, or when people try to call me. does anyone here know what I did wrong when putting everything back together?
Thanks.
Edit: just found a thread where people seem to have the same problem, but theirs will fix when doing a soft reset. this doesn't work for me, so I'm guessing it's something I've done wrong, still
Your mic could be unplugged. It could be a bad radio. It could be simple as you have the in call volume turned all the way down and can't hear anything.
Hello great xdadevelopers, first I wanna say I love this site, absolutely, its perfect and helpful and interesting. But thats off topic, so lets start about my problem.
It's about two days ago I got to rooting my G1, downgrading and then installing the rom "[NewMethod][MOD][PATCH]CM5.0.7/8 AnySPL (NoneDanger)" (the one because it was anySPL and that was reasonable for me because I have HardSPL)
Everything is totally smoooooth, really great I love it, its fast, battery is ok and everything works just fine, except the audio. It started the day one after installing the ROM (Yes I did wipe and installed + gapps, etc.) my volume on the speaker was a little bit lower (but the in the software the volume was on max) but I could hear it, so I was hoping for the audio hack because I wanted my great loud g1 speaker back up, so I did the v3r2. Today morning I went to bus and wanted to put my headphones on .. I started the music, and nothing.. I swear nothing.. the phone recognizes the headphones but I can't hear anything! and when I unplugged them I tried to hear it from the speaker.. I really concentrated and I could hear the song but very very low volume, barely hearable. I am really confused and Im requesting and begging someone to help me out with this, I use my phone 50% for music and I need the sound! HELP!
UPDATE: Im still playing with the phone and now i realized... the sound doesnt come from the back speaker but from the front one ! HUH
FINAL UPDATE: Okay, I have just totally wiped the phone (battery, cache, 2nd cache, etc.) and installed the same ROM from scratch + gapps.. booted into phone, everything else fine, just the audio isnt good.. still coming from REAR SPEAKER!!! HELP
Thanks in advance,
xda fan.
all i can suggest is switchin to a different ROM. there r plenty that dont need the DangerSPL.
Fine, I was afraid i bricked my phone after some time, because i was trying everything, but I rerolled back to STOCK.. so now Im without Root and all that stuff, but my speaker works and everything is ok..
Could you list me some ROM's that support HardSPL? Thank you in advance!
I recently dropped my Hero while having the headset connected, and the only conclusion I can come to is that it stabbed into the headset jack. Now it ALWAYS says I have headphones connected to the phone even when there aren't any. I've tried wiping the phone, different roms, and connecting and disconnecting the headphones continuously to see if maybe it'll go away but I haven't had any luck. My question is if there are any apps, scripts, or patches that I can install/flash to disable the headset support on my phone. Pretty much to make it so it can never accept headphones.
i would help out but then i realized you posted in the Q&A(the same post and question word for word). THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT SECTION AND YOU KNEW THIS! this should get you a ban. You just wanted more people to see your post. Are you developing anything?

There was an app noted on the initial release of the HeroC that did that...
Along with the SMS cpu lock issue, if you plugged in a pair of headphones and removed them, they wouldn't work again until you rebooted. You might want to search "sprint community hero by htc" and you should be able to find it Somewhere back in the 1.5 roms.
Edit: yea this needs to be moved.
@op, what about "Headset blocker" from the market? http://androidforums.com/incredible...andom-song-skipping-using-headphone-jack.html
And the suggestion back from the 1.5 rom days was "Headset Toggle Widget" http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/22962
There is also a note about pulling the batter for 5 minutes. Might fix your issue. Unlikely, but worth a shot.

Ahh but it is development if its a patch, ZING! Gotcha there lmao nah yeah I found I used the headset toggle app to disable it, its annoying that I have to do it every time I turn on the phone but whatever thats the price I get for dropping it
Have you tried sticking a toothpick in there and swirling it around? There are a lot of Palm pre owners who go through what you're describing pretty much any time they use headphones, and they use a toothpick to unstick the pin.
I'm really hoping someone can help with this, because it is driving me insane! I will try to keep this as brief as possible, but feel free to hit me with questions.
So 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy S I9000. I have had issues. At first the home button didn't work so I had to get the screen replaced. After this I installed DarkyRom v10.2.2 Extreme Edition TouchWiz4.
After I installed the Rom the sound went (can't remember if it was instantly after the install, it may have been, but I suspect not. It may have been after a day or 2. No longer). The sound worked through the headphone socket, but would not come out of the speakers. I figured that it thought that the headset was plugged in. I installed Cyanogen Mod (as it has the headphone indicator) and lo, there it was. Headset indicator was on, despite not being plugged in. Tried some fixes (compressed air into the headset socket, plugging in and removing headphones). No dice.
Took it to a repair centre, and they fixed it. BUT, when it came back, the LEDs lit up whenever the screenlock was engaged. They looked at it again and said that it was a problem with the mainboard and wasn't fixable. Got into quite an argument with them as the LED problem did not exist prior to taking the phone in, so they agreed the headset repair for free. I am not convinced of their honesty nor that they actually replaced anything.
Obviously quite annoyed at this point, as I basically now have a battery drain. Anyhow, decide to reflash it again, see if it fixes it, so I flash DarkRom 10.2 Resurrection Edition. OMG The LED problem is fixed. Sound still works at this stage.
I then flash DarkyRom v10.2.2 Extreme Edition TouchWiz4 again. Boots up. THE DAMN SOUND HAS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN! I have not plugged headphones into it, so it cannot be the jack socket. I have only just brought the phone home again.
I have reflashed back to DarkRom 10.2 Resurrection Edition and I still have no sound. I am now thinking this may be a problem with the TouchWiz4 Rom, as I am at a complete loss why the sound would have gone between the Resurrection to the Extreme edition. I haven't put Cyanogen back on, but I am pretty certain that it will tell me that the headset is plugged in.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get sound back on my phone, because I am basically back to having a useless brick? I have tried searching but cannot find anyone asking a similar question.
Many thanks, and apologies in advance if I have broken any n00b rules! If any further information is required, fire away.
Cheers

Ok. I have done nothing since posting this message and now the sound just works again. I'm not going to risk reflashing again, but if anyone has any ideas why I am having this issue then I would like to hear it, because I am not convinced that the problem is going to go away for good!
Hello again!
As I suspected, this problem has not gone away.
I still have not plugged anything into the headphone socket, so I think that can be ruled out as an issue.
The sound has gone on it twice now, since my post. The first time I took it out of vibrate mode and enabled sound. I noticed that the keypad wasn't clicking. Tested it, yep. Stuck in headset mode again.
I went to power down the phone, and noticed that when I hit reboot the keyboard click had returned. When it rebooted sound was back on.
The second time, I was playing the ultra-lame App ARShooter. Sound went off midway through playing it. Again, I heard the keyboard click comeback when I hit the reboot option when powering down.
Sound came back again.
There is clearly something wrong with this phone, and I would love to know how to fix it, or if it's even possible, or where I should even start looking. If anyone has any ideas of what is causing this problem, then please let me know.
Thanks again!
Flashing back to stock?
Hi there. After one and a half month i noticed that the one speaker of the headphone provided inside the i9000 package was not working. Also the i could barely hear what was the other person was saying.I tried a normal headphone with the simple 3.5 audio jack(no mic) and it worked fine. Also i used it in the car and stereo works fine, but if i put a 3way 3.5jack then it doesnt really worked.I flashed a 2.3.4 simple honey rom but it didnt work .I tried to go to the secret codes menu using *#*#197328640#*#* but the AUDIO directory is not opening!I tried pressing on it and typing {5} (it the number of the directory) but it doesnt open whatever i do.I tried voodoo and although it works wonderfull at playing music i still cant use the mic+headphones that came with samsung or another one i bought to check if the first is faulty. Now i want to revert back to stock so i can take it to the samsung shop for repair; What drivers do i need and what do i do to take it bac kto stock? stock rom that came with my phone was xwjvi 2.3.3
Thank you!

Hi all,
I still have a problem with sound-quality during a call.
When I put a call on speaker Ihear a very high-pitched loud béééééééééép.
It sounds a bit like what you get when you put a microfone next to a speaker that is transmitting sound from that speaker.
Everybody heras it, on the other side of the call it seems it even overwhelms my voice, effectively rendering a call impossible.
If I do not put a call on speaker I can speak with the person on the other side. But on the other side of the call it sounds as if my Phone is wrapped in blankets. Some described it different: "it sounds like you have put bass way up to the max and disabled all high- and mid-tones."
It sounds rather like a hardware-problem, BUT.... (and this is where I no longer understand it),
it does NOT happen with stock-ROmS...
It happened with JellyBam and Paranoid Android, does not happen with stock, ROmAUR or Experiment.
my conclusion is that it either is caused by cm10 or by JB (4.1.2).
Does anyone have any suggestions to as what Icould do at this stage_? Iam at this moment running ROmAUR but I really miss JB....
Grtz Henro.

How do you mean? Will it allow me to run a custom RO6m and/or find the cause of the problem?
repair your phone OR re-install/flash the ROM

Aha.... Ok, I understand.
Thanks for the suggestion but as you may have noticed I am able to (re)install and I have found several ROms that solve the problem.
I am interested in two things:
1) is this related to cm10 or 4.1.2 or a third factor?
2) can I find a solution that will allow me to run a ROm based on 4.1.2 or newer?
Can i ask why you needed to start another thread when you have already started it before?
