Hi all,
I still have a problem with sound-quality during a call.
When I put a call on speaker Ihear a very high-pitched loud béééééééééép.
It sounds a bit like what you get when you put a microfone next to a speaker that is transmitting sound from that speaker.
Everybody heras it, on the other side of the call it seems it even overwhelms my voice, effectively rendering a call impossible.
If I do not put a call on speaker I can speak with the person on the other side. But on the other side of the call it sounds as if my Phone is wrapped in blankets. Some described it different: "it sounds like you have put bass way up to the max and disabled all high- and mid-tones."
It sounds rather like a hardware-problem, BUT.... (and this is where I no longer understand it),
it does NOT happen with stock-ROmS...
It happened with JellyBam and Paranoid Android, does not happen with stock, ROmAUR or Experiment.
my conclusion is that it either is caused by cm10 or by JB (4.1.2).
Does anyone have any suggestions to as what Icould do at this stage_? Iam at this moment running ROmAUR but I really miss JB....
Grtz Henro.

How do you mean? Will it allow me to run a custom RO6m and/or find the cause of the problem?

Aha.... Ok, I understand.
Thanks for the suggestion but as you may have noticed I am able to (re)install and I have found several ROms that solve the problem.
I am interested in two things:
1) is this related to cm10 or 4.1.2 or a third factor?
2) can I find a solution that will allow me to run a ROm based on 4.1.2 or newer?
Can i ask why you needed to start another thread when you have already started it before?

Hi,
I have a problem with my Tytn II. When I'm calling with the phone to my ear (not even with the speaker on), the sound on the other side regularly drops to a very low level, and then goes up again. I however, keep hearing the person on the other side of the line without a problem.
This happens in some calls, not everytime. And if it occurs, it occurs on some moments, a few times in a row, and then it works fine afterwards.
It's my second Tytn II already, since I exchanged the first one, which had exactly the same problem. I already disabled 3G, but it didn't help...
1. Anybody who has the same problems? Any solutions?
2. Is this the fault of the device, or is it a network setting/problem?
3. Anything else you guys can suggest I try...?
Update: I got me another device again (third one already), this time a Dutch version (since 2 WWE versions had the problem).
I still have the same problem. On some calls, I cannot be heard from time to time on the other side of the line, which is really annoying.
Could this have something to do with the 3G/data connection problem mentioned in another post?
Thanks
Nobody can help me...?
There are more people who have this problem. I just called to HTC support to report the speaker-problem. During the call, the person could not hear me at certain moments. But I was not using the speaker! She included this in the ticket. They have no answer at the moment.
Come on people... Please post your experience here, so I can be sure if this device is faulty or not...
Did you try to change the "Settings > System > Microphone AGC" Settings?

I think so yes... but I'm asking here to see if it's only my device that has it, or other people are having it too...
Nope, i have similar issues too. I find that when people don't hear me if i use Mute/Unmute, the issue goes away (at least for that call). Like you, i cannot always reproduce it, it happens from time to time, but no specific rule of occurrence.

Just noticed your posting. Yes I have this problem too. Am on Orange UK. I thought it was just the people I was talking to who were being ignorant & not listening to me properly.
Also noticed that the phone often just turns itself onto silent or vibrate even though I always keep both volume settings at full. Bizarre!!
If these two issues persist then I will be calling Orange as I keep missing calls due to the volume issue & secondly as it's a phone people should be able to use it as such.
*come back my beloved HTC Universal - your size is forgiven*
Sound drop
Hey people,
I've noticed the same here, i found another post on the forum that has the answer.
It worked for me.
This is what you can do:
Go to properties and the choose phone, then go to tab Band.
Here you change type network tot gms instead of auto. This wil increase your signal strength!
I'm kicking this post, since I got me another device again (third one already), this time a Dutch version (since 2 WWE versions had the problem).

Just noticed this thread...
Same problems here, on an at&t Tilt.
My hope is that this is just a radio issue, and can be fixed in an update.
Finally I have found others with this problem! Thought I was going mad.
I sent my device back to htc and they replaced the board, but I am still having this issue. Sent it back to them today but now I dont hold out much hope of this being fixed now I see others have tried replacements. Very strange that only a few of us are getting it, even with different / devices new boards.
Are others not experiencing this at all or are they just putting up with it as it is a new device. Very annoying for personal use, but for business it is totally unusable.
Anyone have any ideas on what is causing this / how to resolve?
Thanks,
Steve
I now have the same problem after installing MS Voice command, I am wondering if everyone else in this post is using MS Voice command or is just a coincidence that the problem started after it was installed.
hmm
any fix for this then?
Hi guyz
I just bought a TyTn II device. I don't know whats gone wrong with it that it is giving me annoying sound when its awake but surprisingly when i turn off the screen the sound goes off. its very annoying just like some bee is there behind..
I wonder if i using some wrong radio 1.65.24.36 with PDACORNER v16ultimate, Hard SPL 3.29[as per the recommendation of cook]. I tried to change the radio but to no avail. it seems its more than that.
i dont know if there is some hardware problem or what. but its really making my experience painful. Kindly suggest your remedies.
come on guyz, hardware techies suggest me what needs to be done, I am really worried with the entire thing. I wish to know if it has been faced by someone or if there is any remedy out there?

Here are some simple questions..........
Did this happen right after installing this rom? Did you have the rom on there a while before it started? did you install any other software between installing the rom and when the buzzing noise started?
Have you tried hardresetting ? ( complete wipe and reinstall of current OS )
Have you tried other spl's? ( as the spl controls things on a hardware level?)
Honestly, to me as a hardware tech, it sounds as though its hardware related. I had a backlight inverter on my laptop cause an odd buzzing sound, but ... maybe its not that...
poor I tried to port hard spl 3.56 but to no avail.
I wish if someone else can help me out. This is really getting very difficult for me to listen to calls with this buzz sound in the back. Kindly help me someone. someone said its a problem of moisture but I am not sure if it is. Bro kindly suggest me if it is the case.
Not much any of us can do at this point -- it sounds like a hardware problem.
Send it in for service.
anybody had this problem. Poor the service company is closed for few days.
I hope someone can help me out with his experience. I wonder if the moisture thing is correct.
How about you answer some of those questions. That guy is trying to help you.

He obviously cannot speak English and is posting through google translate, but still some details would be helpful.
I think the Humming (Bee like noise) is to do with the way the backlight works, try turning the brightness all the way up! It mihgt eliminate it. Mine has always made that noise but since it got replaced (broken usb port) it does not make it as loud much to my relief!
Find some reason to get it replaced

Ans:not specifically as I do Rom flashing every other day & there was no problem after that ever.
Have you tried hardresetting ? ( complete wipe and reinstall of current OS )
Ans:Yes I tried doing that but to no avail.

Ans: yes i did as i mentioned my last post. but didn't work either.

Thanks mate for your concern.
but do you have any personal experience? or someone in your friend circle had this? i never seen anyone with this annoying problem. some mechanic said its a usual problem of the chip of every flip style phones.
@others
I am afraid if I gave you an impression of being non-english speaker. Kindly stay to the point. I am more concerned about solving my problem rather than showing my english language skills.
Hope some solutions from my friends are on their way.

hey chumaleyex,
Brother I am please to see you taking so much interest in this thread but would you care to suggest me something constructive. I am very well proficient with software thing but zero about hardware so felt like asking. But it seems you are more interested in something else but not the issue which I want to get addressed. Kindly give your valuable views so I could see the problems eradicated. The service center of HTC in my city is close for 1week so have to do something with my friends help on xda only.
hope someone I see who had faced this problem or someone in the mechanical field. Thanks allover.
Hey guys...all of a sudden nobody can hear me when I make a phone call. I was running Fresh 2.0d and I restored back to stock. Stock radio.
I did drop my phone but I don't think it affected the microphone since the voice recorder app still records my voice...anyone have any ideas?
I had the same problem. Go to Flipz website, he has a fix!

From what I read in posts about "audio loss issues" it sounds like that problem has something do to with people not being able to hear any sounds after a syncing with gmail? Please someone correct me if I'm wrong here I'm kinda new to this.
I should probably also note I can hear the other person perfectly they just can't hear me at all
What?
I can't hear you!
What?? What? Hello?

it has nothing to do with syncing that was just an idea someone had.
restart your phone and if you still have the issue where no one can hear you but the voice recorder works. flash thee audiofixRC. see what happens. nandroid backup first and just try it.
speak louder!!!!,lol jk.. geekforme has your answer to your problem...
I all,
I have just bought my xperia two days ago, and I have done every update the phone has found..
The issue is that when I make a call, people can't listen to me clearly, the word become pasty, incomprehensible..
Searcing in the forum I don't found nothing similar, so I just want to know if it's a software related issue or I must send the phone in warranty.
My software version is 14.3.A.0.681
Thank you..:good:

It seems it is a software problem. But you are not the first one to complain the mic problem of a new Xperia Z1.
So you'd better change a new one from Sony.
i had a similar problem with my Xperia ZR, and some people had it with XZ and XZL, it seems to be certain programs that use the microphone and interfere.
for my ZR it was skype, i removed it and it became normal again... some people said it was google search?!
try disabling settings->call settings->microphone noise suppression.
it might help...
I have tried to disable the noise cancelling in setting, now it seems that the situation is a bit better .. I will just have a couple of day testing and trying to unistall application..
Thanks you!!!
without noise cancelling it's a bit better.. but not enought to make a call clear as expected by this phone..
Today I try a factory reset
I find out the problem, the Sim card caused the bad calls, I have just changed the card with the same carrier and the calls become pretty good now!!
Well I have already my Z1 since almost 9~10 months, I love it, so far I'm very comfortable with it, but after all this time it start to make a strange sound with the vibrator (do it randomly, sometimes when I'm just writing something with the keyboard, get a notification and so on....)
I recorded and it sounds very crearly:
You can hear the normal sound the vibrator will do and sometimes a rare sound, I dont know the exact word to describe it, I have already taken to telcel service (the carrier here, they send it to sony) and already (according to them) replace the vibrator, and the main board (I dont know if it is correct to say the "main board", I have another IMEI number from the original I have , but it is still the same phone, same scratches )
It still make this noise, I dont remember that in the beginning make this noise, and its a little annoying sometimes
I want to know if someone has this problem too, I search a little in the forum but I dont see anyone else with this problem :crying:

I have job, and repair sheets which they claimed to have carried out. Including changing the vibrator. ( one Techie , also stating the vibrator was outta place ), nothing fixed it.
This is after 5 or 6 attempts trying to fix it.
Had to threaten them with legal action , to get it completely replaced. So far so good with the replacement , no sign of trouble.
