What happened to my buttons? - Nook Color General

I just installed CM7 stable build 7.0.3 to run off an SD card on my Nook. (I'm using the recommended Sandisk 8GB Class 4 card.)
I'm using Launcher Pro, but I don't see any notification bar at the bottom of the screen. I also don't have any Home, Back and Menu buttons.
They were there when I first installed CM7, but in the process of customizing my home screen, the notification bar has disappeared. Anybody know how to get it back? Thanks.

OK. I just rebooted and everything came back. Hope this helps somebody else.

[Q] Apps won't rotate to landscape

Hi guys, I didn't see this asked anywhere else. If I missed it, feel free to lock or delete this post.
Rooted my Nook with AutoNooter, all has been perfect for days. Now, all of a sudden, none of my apps will rotate to landscape: Market, Gmail, built in browser, Opera, nothing. The weird thing is my homescreens will rotate (I'm using Zeam), and things like angry birds that load in landscape are fine. Any suggestions?
Have you checked your settings? There is a setting that can be toggled under display to enable auto rotation. I would give you the specifics but my NC is at home.
I saw that option in the Zeam settings, and it is enabled, that's why my homescreen still rotates. I can't find a setting that would control the apps rotation. I don't know if this is a Zeam issue, since everything on my homescreen is okay. And it happened all of a sudden, I hadn't changed any settings or fiddled with anything anywhere else. All I did yesterday was check my email and play angry birds
It should be a setting for your Nook Color not Zeam. In your apps drawer find NookColorTools. Then look for a display setting.
Okay, here is another stupid question... when I go into my nook color tools, my "back" and "menu" buttons dissappear from the bottom of my screen, so how do I back out of a menu? The only thing I can do is hit my n button to go back to the home screen, and when I go BACK into nook color tools, it is still in the same menu I was at before. I can't find a way to get to the main color tools menu. I've killed all my running apps, and color tools still wont go back to it's main menu. Shutting the nook off works, but that's a pain in the butt. I don't want to remap my volume buttons, because I use them all the time. Is that my only option? I don't have this problem with any other app, just nook color tools.
Thanks guys!
Edit: Found the setting in Color tools, so that problem is fixed. I don't know how that setting got "unchecked" I haven't been in the settings recently???? oh well, it's fixed.

You can go back a screen anywhere as long as you can see the black bar on the bottom of the screen. All you have to do is swipe your finger from right to left and it will go back. You can also get Button Savior or SoftKeys from the market and they will allow you to have buttons display over the top on the screen so they are always there
Thanks! I forgot about the swipe feature. I have softkeys but i don't like the additional buttons hovering. I just use the back and menu buttons on my status bar and have my n button programmed to go to my launchers homescreen. Nice and clean and simple. Just the way i like it
Thanks again everyone!!

"Currently Reading" button doesn't work?

I am currently using 2.12.25 AN and 1.1gHz OC, which I don't think the OC is the issue, but when reading a book, if I click Home and start to do something else, normally I can press the "Book" looking icon and it takes me to the reader.
I press it now and it doesn't do anything, so when I want to go back to my book I have to click "Library" and then the book name, which is a pain.
Anyone else have this issue?
In my experience, the book icon in the status bar does not work if you are in a non-nook launcher.
Configure your softkeys virtual home button long press to load the native nook home. Then you can access your last read book with that button.
Example. From Zeam, double click n, long press virtual home, press book icon in status bar.
Not sure if that's any more convenient than just loading the library app, but it does work.

[Q] auto-nooted my nookcolor, now the "n" doesnt work

i wiped my device, and then reinstalled the 1.1.0 version and then used the 3.0 version to auto-noot the device.
all seems to have gone fine, except now my "n" doesnt work so i cannot close applications and go back to my desktop.
can anyone please assist me with fixing this?
thank you.
I had the same problem. I found it to be soft keys. Get rid of soft keys, downlad button savior, and reset your launcher. That at least worked for me.

would you mins sharing how to reset the launcher?
i thought it was the soft keys after tapping the circle to bring up the menu and the tapping the house brought the desktop.
i looked for some way to reverse using the sofkeys, but could not find it.

I am running Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 SD Card Rom. On the development forum it says that you push "N" once for Launcher Pro. You push "N" twice for softkeys and long press for recent task. Whenever I push "N" once it just goes back to the home screen. I am new to launcher pro so my question is what is suppose to happen when I push "N" once. Is the launcher pro app suppose to load up? Is launcher pro just my home screen so if I push "N" it always goes back to homescreen? What is suppose to happen? I am new.
If softkeys is set up wrong, yeah it'll do the wrong thing
http://nookdevs.com/index.php?title=NookColor_Default_Launcher
Read the above, then read below....
Personally I have made "Single Tap: Softkeys" because it's more often I'm popping that up than going Home, but it's a little messy when you first boot, so I still suggest most folks set it as per the Wiki.
And long press doesn't exist in Softkeys except for the VIRTUAL OVERLAY which pops up at the bottom of the screen. Long-press of the hardware button doesn't do anything. Be nice if it would, then we could put 3 actions on it

CM7 Launcher Bar Problem

Hi folks. I have CM7 running off an SD card in my nook. I turned it on right now and for some reason the App menu icon in the launcher bar at the bottom of the screen now opens a different app (Gmail). For the life of me I cant figure out how to put it back to normal so that I can open my apps by pressing that button. Can anyone help me with this?
**Edit**
Forget it. I just figured it out. Guess its just too early and was seeing an option right under my nose.

[Q] Can't find reader after root?

I just rooted my Nook HD using the CWM Universal Root with version 2.0.5, and where I *love* the zeam launcher and the way it moves and everything, I can't seem to get to the library or reader. I know it's there, if I open one of my books from the file manager it opens into the reader, but having to hunt through there to get to a book is a bit much.
This is likely a stupid question and there's an obvious/easy solution, but I've been trying to work it out for over an hour and can't figure it out.
Thanks for any help
Push the Nook button and it should give you the option to go Home which is the nook home screen with the reader and all.

zeam is the default for when I press the nook button, so it doesn't give me that option. Not sure how to change that either. Could do it no problem on my phone but I'm still getting used to the ins and outs of the nook xP

Use anycut to put a home shortcut on your zeam screen.
Long press the screen, choose shortcut, choose anycut, choose activity and scroll to home. Then finish. There will now be a shortcut to get back to the stock home.

There are instructions on this forum about making a Home button on your Zune home screen.

Derp. Got it. Like I said, I knew there was likely an obvious/easy solution xP Thanks a bunch :3
BTW, another quick way to do this. The recent drawer on Nook if fairly useless, so if you go to settings, applications, home and uncheck quick action corner, you'll get a hotlink to the reader in the lower right corner instead of the recent drawer
