Did you remove battery? Before pressing the buttons?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
yeah i did it. The only way to turn my phone of is to remove battery.
Try this my friend
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007825
use software upload mode by remove batt.
Press and Hold the volume down buttom, and plugin the usb.
Try NVFlash or Smart Flash?
yeah that happened to me, NVflash will save your phone
Ok, I'll try NVflash but for sure it will take me ages to download this file right now I'm in egypt and wireless sucks here!
Thanks for your help! As soon as I'm done with it I'll tell you!
All done! NVflash saved my phone!!
thanks!!!!!!!

If you went into s/w update mode, it means that your finger slipped on the power button. You should not let go of the power button until you see the CWM welcome.
Btw, s/w mode simply means that it's ready for flashing. If you're not doing anything on it, simply pull out the battery, and turn on your phone as you would.

Hello guys!
While flashing to CM10 from CM9, my phone rebooted and stopped into screen "Power Reset or Unknown upload mode", no keys are pressed while booting. Any ideas how to fix this? I discharged battery completely and put it again but still this screen shows up.
any idea?
try to enter download mode it seems that kernel is broken
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
Enter download mode, and then using odin just install any custom firmware or a stock firmware !
Hope it helps ! :fingers-crossed:
i've tried home + vol down+ power button
only logo of Samsung showed up, after that annoying message "Power reset......"
any idea?
Are you able to boot into CWM? if yes, ask someone if he can take your sd card and download a CWMflashable zip to it. The plug it into your own phone and flash... :fingers are crossed for you:
------------------------------
working on:
SuperRom64 (2.3.6)
Project Stock (4.0.4)
whatever i'd press, all the time i see samsung logo and after 30 secs an error message.
1. Switch off your mobile.
2. Now, press and hold the volume up key and the power button. Leave both buttons when you see the SAMSUNG logo.
3. After "Galaxy S" splash screen you will get a white box and android logo image like below, then press menu soft key and wait some second.
4. If you boot into recovery, then wipe everything and then flash the ROM.
And it seems that you have managed to brick your mobile ! But try this I hope it solves your problem.

Hi
I've been having problems with the HOME button on my phone. I've been running PA2.51 on it so thought it was probably the ROM. I went to flash the newer 2.99 ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115167
After I followed the instructions I rebooted the phone and now I'm stuck with loads of FC! I can't even reboot into recovery or download mode because the stupid HOME button doesn't work.
I don't know what to do??
Can anyone help or advise please? I'd want to get my files off the thing if I can't save it sigh

just check out the "FAQ and troubleshooting" in post #3 of the rom.....
I did but I can't even get into recovery or download mode because of my dodgy HOME key. Is there no other way to force my phone into recovery by plugging it into the computer???

okie.... do this IF USB DEBUGGING WAS ENABLED
> connect ur phone to pc using usb..
> now run CMD on pc...
> now type "adb reboot recovery"....
> wait for it to work...
now u should be in recovery
Thanks will try and give that a go. If this fails I'll have to get this sorted via insurance
EDIT: GAH! It can't find the device. Looks like I'm out of luck?

I cannot boot into sw update mode - i removed the batery and connected the usb cable, pressed power+ vol down and nothing happens.
With the battery on, even if I press power + vol down it doesn't enter sw update mode - i get the error message and it then turns off.
SmartFlash doesn't detect the device so I cannot flash another ROM.
Im NOOB at this, so maybe I'm missing something.
