I use this Phone.apk because i like the layout. I prefer it so much over the standard one, which is included in cm5.0.8 final (and 6 now). It was included once in 5.0.8test3 as far as i remember but was changed finally. Why?
So, anyone knows what version this is and where i maybe get a more recent version of it (doesn't work in cm6 for me)?

idk how it is in the g1 cm6 but in the cdma hero cm6 its included.

It's the full eclair dialer and it was removed because the G1 does not have a proximity sensor, so too many people complained about their faces hitting the hold button at the top. For a while in CM5, you could select either, but that seems gone as well.
It's still in CM5 and CM6.
Settings > Call Settings > Force Touch Keyboard.
Mine's grayed out with it checked for some reason but it works.

Well, i knew this option, but never tried it..
At least i don't have to push this apk everytime from now on. Unfortunately CM6 doesn't run stable enough for me on my MyTouch...

This is the phone app in 508. Go to Settings\Call Settings\ click the check box "In-call touch UI". You can even reverse which side the keyboard button is by checking the "Left-hand mode"
Anyone know what happened to the ability to slide to answer? The phone.apk had two slide bars (like the lock screen) to answer, and mute a call. However this feature was removed. Anyone know why/how to use it again?
Does anyone know if this has been backported to donut anywhere? And if so, can you point me in the right direction?

Still works for me on 5.0.8
So I am running CM6.1 stable, and I am having an issue with the web browser in full screen. I would absolutely love to run the browser in full screen, but there is a bug or something that I don't have a clue how to fix. When I rotate the phone into landscape while in full screen, and click the address bar to do a search, the keyboard pops up, like it should. But theres the space where the status bar could be. The keyboard randomly bounces up and down in that space instead of expanding to fill the whole screen. I searched quite a bit, but nothing. I have had this happen with the froyo keyboard, gingerbread keyboard, and HTC_IME mod keyboard. Is there a fix? Thanks.

So all I can do is use another browser? Or not in full screen? What browser doyou use as default?

yeah, here are two screen shots. the first shows when the browser setting is at full screen, the second with full screen off for comparison. when i hit a key, the keyboard and text field jump up and down in the space that is left by the status bar. it drives me crazy. i would love to be able to browse in full screen all the time.

Have you tried dolphin or another browser? Might be a quirk on the default hero browser.
This happens to me in xScope, as well. Never use landscape so I don't know if it's always done that and I've never noticed, or a new bug, or what.

im not sure, but is this just something in 6.1? because i started my hero with 6.0 then 6.1RC1, then 6.1 stable, and i dont remember if this was happening in 6.0. i know it was happening in 6.1RC1 though. odd stuff. has there been anything like this on the other phones (Evo, N1, Droid OG)?

nope, im using the 2.3 metamorph, and im still having this problem. did you apply the animations metamorph? i didnt, i dont like them.
I applied the animations but didn't really like them either (too choppy I thought), so I reflashed the ROM, reapplied just the main theme, Menu, and green icons, and still doesn't really do it. However, I notice that, in xScope at least, it only does it if I am not already on a site. If I do it from the default homescreen with the bookmarks and etc it will spazz out, but if I am on a website and go to the URL bar, it's fine.
yeah a bunch of people over here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870591) tried out the full gingerbread theme, and i installed it. there was no change for the browser.

happens in all keyboards with my phone.
Just wondering if someone can come up with a GB theme for DL09, now that its official, and all roms seem to be based on it. Thanks
You should be able to use the dj05 gb theme, just make sure u flash the theme fix immediately after, otherwise you wont boot up. Just search this section and you will find them
so fresh and so superclean.

yup...theres really no point in porting gb theme to dl09 when the theme fix takes care of business....it might be annoying...but its just a result of most themers/and the root crowd in general having been on dj05 and not seeing the point to going to dl09
Yea, that works, but its not complete. Unfortunately some of the secondary txt is still the hiddeous aqua. I wish i knew where the secondary txt settings were. Im guessing its just a .xml that needs a tweak. Anyone have any ideas?

i looked at the gb version with black menus and accurate battery (well i compiled it make acc batt work) in settings the secondary text was white which is what it should be
in some apps that havent been modded the xml will still be the default color....ss where you are seeing the aqua text and ill take a look at it

Actually, now that i look, only the stock mail app is affected..the title is white...but the rest is aqua...example...title is "facebook"..then the subject will be aqua.
I've installed Phoenix 3.5 and love it. I need help moding a few items though.
1) The keyboard. I have large hands and the small keyboard is a killer. Can I install stock android/samsung keyboard?
2) I would like to install a different dialer. I have downloaded one but don't completely understand the install steps.
3) Is there a better battery indicator for the top bar, that works w/ 3.5? I am a fan of the batt indicator that is a circle w/ the battery percentage in the center.
4) HERE's A BIG ONE........... Can I get Kies to work w/ this? I am using a Captivate i897 but I'm guessing the phone doesn't see it as that anymore. After all the boot screen shows i9000. What are the steps I need to use to get in here?

The keyboard you can fix by goibg to settings, and then locale and text, then selecting samsung key pad. I think you should give swype a try. I hated it at first and then got used to it and realized its alot faster.

Yes you can install samsung keypad but you need to find the apk
Dialer needs to be posted over old one. Do you have root explorer?
I believe your base is jpy. Any theme that is for jpy should work. Find one with circle bat that you like
Check your product code using sgs tools, under secret codes. If it does not end in kaat that is your problem. It can be fixed but it is a hastle. Why do you want to use kies?
Have you tried the latinime.apk posted on the op for phoenix? As a keypad solution

Root explorer is an app. It cost like $4. It gives you access to files standard file programs can't view, like were tire dialer is stored. There are free alternatives like android mate
Themes are installed through clockwork recovery but I think you may want to read up a bit
Try double twist as an I tunes replacement for music. Download to pc, its free

Hmm, I was trying to change the conversation.apk (it's a sms app) in Gingerbread to this from Froyo but it's not so easy as I thought I was trying to paste it to system/app and change permissions but it don't want to work with the 2.3.4. Maybe you have any idea how to do this

Not sure if it's going to work straight from the box on the blurred phone... but you can always try Cyanogenmod7 on MM2 ;-) (see development section).

In CM7 we can use this froyo app messaging?
The are a few issues with trying to use the Blur apps in non-blur roms. I used to like the Blur clock (for the dock) and tried to get it into CM7, but gave up instead and just used the default app.
For SMS, have a play with goSMS, its pretty similar to the blur one (they have a few skins which are similar, I changed my up and skinned it differently anyway)
I get a bit confused here. I just can't just instal Froyo messaging apk to have the ballon like visualisation? Just using specific apps?
Go message doesn't work to me, when message have 160+ characters when I send te people who receves get symbols like "! & %" and can't read.
