Hey everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab running Overcome 1.6.3
I've been having an issue with it overheating and turning itself off (nothing to do with the custom ROM, was doing it before, I was hoping the custom ROM would fix it but it didn't).
I rang Samsung about it and they told me to take it back to where I bought and get them to send it in to me.
My issue is that as soon as they see that it's running a Custom ROM they'll send it straight back to me!
Basically I'm trying to work out the Optus Factory ROM / Modem / PITT files so I can put the correct files back on using ODIN.
Does anyone have a stock Optus Galaxy Tab they can give me all the info for?
PDA: ?
PHONE: ?
CSC: ?
Model Number: ?
Firmware Version: ?
Kernal Version: ?
Build Number: ?
Thanks,
Mitchell !

Thanks, hadn't seen that.
Will move the question
the firmware my tab came with was JJ4, but when I got it back from repair it came with JMA, so it is hard to say what you should have
Thanks!
I ended up ringing one of the stores and asking them to read me out all the numbers off the Display model (figured it had never been updated).
It is as follows:
PDA: P1000XWJJ4
PHONE: P1000XXJID
CSC: P1000OPSJJ3
I was able to get the PDA + PHONE default files, but I could only get a default CSC file (SERJJ2) because no one had posted the Optus CSC file.
I'm restoring it all now, will let you know how it goes, cheers !
Hi there,
Did you get it working?
I am trying to restore my optus galaxy tab using odin as well, its a nightmare!
I also have the first two files (and not the csc file), but dont know how to do it.
I have the gt-p1000_mr.pit file loaded in odin along with the PDA and phone one (P1000XWJJ4 & P1000XXJID). I have the three boxes ticked, auto reboot, repartition, f. reset time etc. then i press start. It updates for a while then fails near the end. What am I doing wrong? Is it because i dont have the csc file or is there a certain order to do things?

Just at work at the moment but I'll post detailed instructions when I get home !
Awesome! This little saga is almost making me consider splashing out and going ipad, but I am being patient. I think theres a learning curve and then all will be good no? or have you got rid of yours since haha
All is good
I ended up finding teamovercome.net and installed their ROM which Im happy with so far. No optus stuff which is a plus
Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. The time zone difference thing over here is still messing with my head. Glad to hear you got it all sorted. I had a look back through all of my stuff and like an idiot I don't have anything saved any more, but oh well.
Haven't gotten rid of mine, but haven't touched it for about a month and a half, since moving over to the US, and not wanting to pay for a SIM card for it.
which version rom are using from overcome and is there any problems with using it on the optus network

Hey,
Got a i9000t and went a bit to far with the Telstra bloat ware kill. Now cant seem to download anything from market and also get a "com.google.process.gapps" error on start up.
I figured re-flashing the original firmware via kies would be a given.
I was wrong.
Any idea's on how to revert back to the out of the box Telstra bloat ware and start again?
I've found the reg edit way for the optus firmware codes and the canadian firmware but would prefer to go back to telstra.
Any advice would be great I'm at a loss.
before we begin... can you confirm your 3 buttons to be working?
once you get the 3 buttons to work into Download Mode
you are safe to flash with Odin
then you can even install another ROM to recreate all the missing stuff you deleted
you need to select the Re-Parition option
depending on what you download from Kies, some ROM will and will not repartition depending on the options specified in the package from factory
so it seems like the one you were trying to re-install didn't have that enable so it did not restore the other stuff you were hoping to get back by installing the ROM
You can try flashing the JH2 ROM, then you can revert back to another version you like after that
Telstra i9000 has a 850Mhz radio too, so you may need to keep that in mind when flashing...
As to your question, you'd have to find the original Telstra firmware to flash it, and I don't think there is any around, since it's just come out. You'll probably have to find some alternate firmware to flash unfortunately. Check what version you're running if you want to try and match it, but the Telstra stuff you deleted is gone for now.
Otherwise, someone with the Telstra version may be able to provide you with a nandroid backup to restore, but there probably aren't many people who have the Telstra version at this early stage (OT - I'm surprised to hear people actually taking up their insane pricing for the SGS).
It's a little late for this advice, but I'm sure you'll heed it in future: get yourself Titanium Backup, and ROM Manager and take full backups before you go messing around with /system.
3 button restore is working. Lucky me got a good one.
I ended up just tracking down the apps I shouldn't have deleted and was lucky to get it back.
There's still no one out there who's put up the Telsta rom so I think I might make a back up now
BTW I got the sgs on the $49 + $16 handset which gives me $400 worth of calls but only 200mb. The plans were not as bad as originally feared.
I hate Telstra but the coverage is second to none and I require it for work. The price isn't that bad for what you get.
Thanks for your advice at least I know what to do when a decent rom comes out now.

$65 p/m with 200mb of data is pretty terrible (for me at least). I was really hoping they'd be more competitive, because - as you say - their network really is the only reliable network in the country, but I'm only on a 12 mth contract, so hopefully they sort their act out next year
Glad to hear you got sorted in any case.
Plus,the Telstra SGS is the 8GB model,correct?
Yeah,
Another little kick in the nuts. They only stock the 8gig model.
Still haven't looked into if a larger SD card can still take it to 32gig total like the others.
Hope so.

I flashed my i9000T, with telstra firmware, FW only,
it reboots and errors, so I did a wipe via recovery, then a cache wipe.
reboots and goes to the Telstra NextG splash screen, then to the "S" screen, does the Samsung sound then goes blank – menu and back buttons will glow white if touched but nothing else
Which is the problem ?
thanks
Used 512 pit

Agreed... my bad.
does your 3 button recovery work? if so go into recovery mode (power + home + up) and tell me what errors down the bottom of the boot screen appears.
hi what about the modem .tar , does it need to be flashed all together..
ive flashed my sgs many times and use different modem files also, so to reflash using telstra firmware do you need the modem file?
please advice
im pretty sure you dont have to use the csc file or the phone just the pda file which is the add u t which is extracted from the rar and the 512 pit file.....please quote me if im wrong tho as im a lil new to this all
im having troubles myself getting coverage any ideas? anybody sorry to be a pain just really wanna use my 2 day old phone
Hi,
I've recently moved from Australia to the USA (with an AT&T sim) and would like to upgrade to 2.2. Kies still does not have an image available so I'm looking to flash it myself but not sure which ROM file to use.
The phone is unlocked and unbranded. The version details are:
PDA: I9000DTJG4
PHONE: I9000DTJG3
CSC: I9000XSAJG2
I've been reading about the I9000UGJK3 image but I believe that installs the Bell branding on the phone, which I'd like to try avoid.
Which image should I be using?
Thanks
Ivan

if the KIES comes back with no results for Froyo, then that means it has not been released yet for Australia region, and you will have to pick from any of the other flavours available
or stay in 2.1
Thanks for the quick reply.
According to regedit I have a GT-I9000HKAXSA. This doesn't seem to be listed as a "known" product code just yet. Which might explain why Kies doesn't have an update for it yet.
I guess what I'm trying to determine is a) can any image be placed on any phone? b) if yes, then what would be the best image if I wanted to flash my phone and have it work in the USA on AT&T (I'm trying to make sure that my correct 2/3G bands are still going to work post flash)
Dude, I did this tonight and it worked
http://webtrickz.com/how-to-update-...oid-2-2-froyo-via-kies-anywhere-in-the-world/
And I'm in Australia on the optus network
I just couldn't believe the lag and I didn't want to root my phone just yet
I also couldn't believe that Vodafone got froyo straight out of the box!
when it says "refresh" after you've done the regedit bit it means hit your home button. worked straight away
Vodafone straight out of the box?!? Where did you hear that? Not true I'm with vodafone australia and we got eclair, I did the reg edit to get XXJPO like you

Thanks Guys, I managed to sort this by using Odin and putting I9000XWJPA on it. Almost bricked the thing b/c I didn't read all the documentation completely!
Seems to be working like a charm at the moment.

I flashed my phone using the rom I was using weeks ago: XWJM5 (using 512.pit, SERJM1 CSC and XXJM3 modem) all the files are in the JM5 download(single folder) from samfirmware.com
I used adb to get into download, then I selected repartition whilst flashing. ( not sure it's worth noting there's a sbl.bin file in the phone package that gets written to the device)
once i had JM5 up and running i checked whether the 3 button combo was working - it wasn't.
i then followed post 1 to the letter.( no .pit, select bootloader etc) - it takes just a second to run.
Now I just have to decide which ROM i want to try next -JPH awaits !
Well Jimsey, guess what.......... JOB DONE!!!!!
Did exactly what you said - except i added 1 step, (don't know if essential but i've heard reports that it saves some people needing to do a wipe/reset in recovery mode) :- i did a factory reset just prior to flashing of JM5. Other than that tho, i followed everything you did above TO THE LETTER!
Mind you, it wasn't good for my health i swear. It rebooted after flashing JM5, and a load of yellow writing came up saying all the little files it was initialising etc etc blah blah, and then... in RED writing it came up with - CANNOT ACCESS MULTI LOADER FROM TMU, or something like that.
Well, i felt the blood drain from my face. Then it booted up, damn that was scary!
You're right about the combo fix as well, when i flashed that it is as you say a dodgy two seconds, then a few more seconds on a black screen, i swear my heart didn't beat during that time!
Anyway there you go guys, i've just (narrowly avoiding a coronary) flashed my stock T-Mobile UK from BOJG3 to an unbranded, smooth as silk XWJM5, and on top of that flashed the standalone bootloader from post #1. And it works. I have the handset in front of me and it's all lit up on the home screen!
A big thankyou to Jimsey, for being the first pair of feet to jump!
Also to Richthofen for his bootloader fix, and his superb support in all this.
Well, don't know where next, JPC/JPH i suppose, but not yet, i need a drink to recover from this bit first!!

First of all, I've tried to search first but comes with no suitable answer..
My problem is..
I have a GT-P1000 with XSE csc code before.
So since I've been waiting so long for Gingerbread updates, I've come through an update from Italy. So I grabbed that right away.
The last 1 month has been ok, but since there is an update for my country specific, I want to use that update instead.
...long story short...
I tried to flash back to my older Froyo ROM which is P1000DXJK2
Grabbed both the pit and tar and voila, my SGT is back to froyo
I then tried to connect it to Kies but it can't see any firmwares update (heck it can't even see my SGT firmware now)
I tried *#1234# and found out that there is nothing on PDA and CSC
The SGT is working OK, but I still want the specific update for my country..
So my questions are..
1. Where should I find CSC files or PDA files suitable for my Froyo OS? So that KIES able to recognize it and download the GingerBread update?
2. I also want to update to P1000DXJPE but from my latest experience downgrading from XXJQ1 to P1000DXJK2 .. I was a little bit affraid
Any helps will be appreciated. And if someone already has questioned this before, please, point me toward the thread.. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention when searching before.

have you tried reflashing jk2 again?
Since a few days it is impossible to use my Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000 as a phone. Whenever i try using it, it doesnt register on the network.
I am running DarkyROM JVH v10.1 baseband version I9000XXJVO Firmware 2.3.3
If i try to register on the network is searches and searches and searches... but doesnt find anything.
What "worries" me is the fact that when i start up the phoe is tells me its a Samsung Galaxy S II, which it surely isnt!
Please advice.

There is your problem..
Re-flash stock firmware with pit and re-partition, When complete, check you can register on the network.
If so then avoid the ROM which you are currently running.
EDIT: When you say the phone says Galaxy S II, Is this not a boot animation taken from the SGS II ? Or is it the actual boot screen which says its a SGS II ?
Call me stupid ;-) but i didnt save my stock-rom....

No problem.
Head over to www.samfirmware.com and grab one from there, flash it through odin, Instructions are on that site too.
Thanks AzzleDazzle, but now comes up another problem.... Probably very basic, but for me, its all abracadabra.
I have an European Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000, but if i look at the site there are many roms u can download. From Android 2.1 to Android 2.3.4 for "my" device. Which is the one i should use? My ID is I9000XWJVH, which is according to the site an unknown H version.
Please advice once more, thanks in advance!
No worries, Make sure you download a firmware specifically for the I9000
the last 3 letters eg JVH is the firmware version, JV.X. represents gingerbread 2.3.3 and above.
Gingerbread is the latest release, so i would go for one of them, The one at the bottom of the page on samfirmware will be the very latest, Which i think is JVR
So look for I9000XXJVR.
flash that in ODIN and job done you should be back up and running and with the latest release.
The rest is upto you . i.e going to a custom ROM / rooting ect...
i feel more and more like a noob....
I started Odin, and there u can choose for the pit file, or for the pda file (which is the one i should use i guess), but also u have the choices of re-partition auto reboot and f. reset time. Which of those 3 (or non at all) i should use?
I dont know what has happened. I choose for only reboot after flashing. Flashing went okay, but now it seems to be stuck in a loop. The Galaxy S screen gets followed up by a Swisscom screen in a seemingly endless loop.
Worse, with volume down - power on i can not come in the download menu anymore...
Any advice would be much appreciated now.....
Also when trying a re-partitioning via Odin it doesnt work?
Found the solution. Using Odin 1.8 did the trick. I used Odin 1.3 which probably couldnt flash the 2.3.4, while when i tried with Odin 1.8 it worked flawlesly.
Thanks for your help!
