[Q] Anybody have DXKM3 F/W? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day to every one!!! I have flashed the GB update but now want to revert back my old F/W.
I currently have DXKM2 w/c is not the f/w my phone came with.
Looking around, I saw this , but I think it requires heimdall to flash and I'm not familiar with it, I'm used to using odin.
Anybody can point me to where I can find the DXKM3 F/W to use for odin?
Thanks in advance for the replies!

[Q] Best firmware to flash?

Hey everyone,
Yesterday I foolishly applied the Kies update to JPC without getting an unlock code first, and was left with a phone I couldn't actually use as a phone. I then tried flashing back to earlier firmwares via Odin (at the time it wasn't clear what was causing this problem, so I thought reverting to older firmwares would fix it). By the time a fix was posted, I was back on JF3. At least now I'm not that nervous about using Odin
My question is, now that I'm back to JF3 and can use Odin to flash any firmware, which would be the best option to go with? Which is the fastest, most stable one that you've tried? If necessary, I will root and apply a lagfix, but I'd prefer to have a firmware which maybe doesn't require one. Do you think maybe I should apply the JPC update through Odin again, or would it be too much of a hassle and too risky?
Thanks for your help.

[Q] Restore Galaxy S back to Original Android 2.1

Hi All,
I Upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S to Froyo 2.2. All seems well but the performance does not seem all that great as well.
If i want to restore back to the Standard Manufacturer Firmware (i was on JG4) that comes out of the box with the I9000 what do i have to do? Any help here would be appreciated.
Download the firmware from samsung-firmwares and flash your phone with odin. There is plenty of flashing tutorials about to show you how to do it. Although if you managed to update to froyo then you properly already know how to flash it again

Hello. I managed to get the firmware from samfirmware.com for the original 2.1 (Asian version) but I couldn't get it to follow through. There would always be an error with regards to MD5 or something. What do I do? Thanks

I have the same problem as well, any helps here please?
Alot of the the DXJG4 firmware out there is corrupted.
So, try download DXJF4 from samfirmware.com (and flash with Odin with 513 pit) then uprade to DXJG4 through KIES.
NOTE: If KIES says "Device version's cannot be upgraded". Then you need to change your product code back to "XSO" (Search the forum on how to change product code.... about editing the nv_data.bin file)
My Flash history:
DXJF4-->DXJG4-->XXJPK-->DXJG4
I'm pretty new....
The firmware versions you guys are talking about are I hope, all "software" version and not real hardware chip revisions?
thanks
why dont you just flash your phone with 2.2.1 or 2.3.3(latest).....i know 2.2 is quite unstable FW but 2.2.1 will help a lots......I dont think you need to downgrade the phone back to the stock FW to solve any problem

[Q] Which firmware should I use?

Hi guys, I'm new here! And to the Android scene in general. Before you ask, I've been trying to use the search function, but unfortunately it says try 10 minutes later, and it said that around 15 minutes ago...
I've recently taken interest in Darkyy's 5.4 rom, but I understand with most custom made things, there can be bugs involved, and I want to prepare for the worst case scenario and be able to flash back to the original firmware, so I've got a few questions.
1)I was just wondering, which firmware is the one I need?
I live in Australia, and I am on the 3 network, and have recently updated to 2.2 officially via KIES.
If it matters, I've also rooted and voodoo one click lagfixed it, along with officially unlocked the phone via the 3 network.
PDA: I9000HVJP4
PHONE: I9000HVJP3
CSC: I9000HUTJP4
2) If I reflash original firmware, will the phone still be unlocked, or will I have to unlock the phone again with 3? I'm pretty sure they keep records of that stuff... so will they be willing to do it again for me if that is the case? Or will it not relock itself?
Thanks guys!
If you reflash it using the firmware from samfirmware.com, it should remain unlocked.
You will need to remove all lagfix before reflashing it. Always remember to remove lagfix before flashing. The root can stay.
As for Darkyy's rom, I don't know what on earth happened lately, but he completely changed the instructions for no reason (far as I can tell). The old instructions were simply to flash back to an old Eclair firmware, and then install his rom. Works every single time.
Thanks man, I'll remember to do that, but does it matter which firmware version I go with if I want to restore my original firmware, perhaps even for warrantee reasons? I have a tendancy to mess things up beyond repair...
I'd hate to bump my own topic but... Nobody can help?
As you have jp4 you should flash that from samfirmware to get back to stock should things go wrong.

[Q] Which Odin to use?

I'm thinking about installing a custom ROM but a bit confused in the ODIN part. I'm fairly new to the android community having just got my Rogers I896 in October.
With Odin, I realized there's the Odin one click downloader which seems to be the easiest one. I do notice that comes prepackaged with the I897 stock ROM.
The other alternative is to use a Non-one click Odin and the Stock I896 Froyo rom but not really sure how to go from there. I think I need a PIT file or something after watching some youtube videos? There seems to be a few PIT files to use. I'm not sure which one to use and where can i find them.
Because I'm on Rogers and I have also updated to the official Froyo via Kies, does it really matter which odin and which stock ROM to install prior to flashing a custom rom?
Would like some guidance here. I've been searching, googling and researching about this custom ROM thing for days already and can't seem to gather enough information for me to confidently perform this.
Thanks in advance
I think they are all great questions and I am in the same boat so I will tack on a question of my own here.
If you flash a bad rom, can you use ODIN to get back to stock? Even if you have no backup?

[Q] Rooting 2.3.3

Howdy,
I got my phone replaced after an issue with a no service state. The phone i have now is a i9000. Refurbished, running 2.3.3 xxjvk. My question is does anyone have any solid advice as to which cf root package to flash? I found 2.4-3.1 on his page. My last phone started off with xxjvt which was easy to root. Im not sure what the difference between them all is. I need some help as I dont feel like bricking another phone as my last one died after flashing back to GB rom from an ICS rom. Thanks.
Look here for CF Root JVK kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12651359&postcount=6
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30067551&postcount=3 , using semaphore will give you CF root plus CWM recovery
Hey
You can Upgrade to 2.3.6 via odin and then root it...heres a guide
Ok. I got 2.3.3 rooted. I have a question about updating my phone tho, KOR is my region code for the phone...Im in Alaska, if 2.3.6 is for KOR I assume that I wont run into any issues? I didn't used to care with my last one, but since it died Im trying to be nicer to this phone as I need it to last more than 6 months.
If theres an update for csc KOR - which my phone is and 2.3.6 includes KOR, why cant I update using kies? I have the firmware pulled already, and want to move to it but was wondering if there was a different way to go about it than odin.

Sure, you can use KIES to upgrade your phone , just connect and try, if failed than you can use ODIN , they are both samsung software, firmware, Odin and KIES downloads can be found on MY Android Collection..link below
I guess Ill just flash it with Odin as Kies says no update available, which is always its response it seems. So thanks.
