Hi guys,
I want a task app or something like this which has a toggle widget i can put on homescreen that keepsthe display always on when i tap on it..
The original widget toggle have the screen timeout values of 15s-30s-1m but not a never option..
Can anyone advice me?
You could try extended controls or switch pro, these are similar to the standard and adroid power control widgets but give loads more options. Bot are availabe in the market.

I think this is the best place to post this question, sorry if it's not.
Anyways, with the ROM's for the i897(Captivate) the notification drop down has the toggle buttons for Wi-Fi | Bluetooth | Silent | Vibration
For the I9000 ROM Silent is replaced by GPS.
Anyone know of a way to change which buttons show up?
I'd like to use an i897 ROM, but remove Silent and replace it with GPS.
+1 on that for me, too, its easy enough to go into silent mode with a long press on the power key, or by simply holding the volume down button.... a quick toggle for gps would be great!
+1 as well. Volume rocker on the phone is sufficient in silencing the device, I want a fast GPS on off switch. Perhaps this should be posted in the android development section?
Or a 2g/3g apn switch.

+1
I would also like to add Vibrate to the Power Menu. I don't use Silent, always Vibrate, and I would prefer not having to unlock my phone to change that.

+1. Dont use bluetooth so the bluetooth switch is pointless for me. Would like a Rotation/Orientation switch... or even better (if it can be figured out) a switch to toggle between 2g and 3g
You could try the quick settings app. Long press the search key and you get fast access to all that **** son!

+1 on this however in the meantime...
I use power strip in conjunction with switchpro widget. Power strip is an app you can set to have your home button bring it up even from the lock screen if you have widget locker installed. This way you can access switchpro widget which you can customize to have whatever 7 (less if you'd like) toggles available for quick access without ever even having to unlock your device. I currently have mune set up as follows: Widget locker is installed which allows me to add widgets to my lock screen and have access to my notification bar without having to unlock the screen. Then I have power strip set as my default launcher and ADW is set as the default launcher through the settings in that app so hitting the home button goes to ADW by default (double tap on home brings up power strip) I'm all about pushing as few buttons as possible to access what I need quickly. Once someone figures out how to change the default toggles I probably will keep this set up because of the extreme functionality!
I have a similar arrangement but use QuickDesk rather than power strip. QD is activated by double-tapping home, and offers a 4x5 grid for widgets or icons - I have two switchpro widgets that can toggle nearly everything, and some extra categories for App Organizer that I don't use as often as the ones on the home screen.

QuickDesk is awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
I even got QuickDesk + WidgetLocker + ADW.Launcher to work perfect together.
however quite nice still quick desk might be, it would still be nice to have GPS on default slide down bar...
Any ideas...?
this thread would be better in the Development forum
Hey guys,
I don't like the unlock screen of LG and want to uninstall it and then install another one like Simply Lockscreen or something else... I find the current LG screen slow, so that's why...
Somebody knows how to do this?
Thanks!
Why uninstall?
Just install goto lockscreen or whatever you like and make default. Stock never shows

Is it possible to have none at all? Couldn't find it.
I think you can remove the apk with root explorer from system, but that is not within my knowledge... im having no problems with goto lockscreen though... disables stock, but you need to use GOTO lockscreen then

Your English is good.
I have the same problem with WidgetLocker... no solution...
I tried this app, Screen Tools 1, able to disable the lockscreen & it is able to activate itself during power up.
Is there any way to totally remove the default lock screen and use the stock android one? I hate it cause i can‘t use 3rd party messaging app as it will always show how msgs i have on it and need to enter into the default messaging to clear it..

Me two.. using widget locker now to recreate the stock android lock screen.. but I hate seeing the lg lock screen when I power on the phone.. i want it annihilated! Anyway to replace it with android's?
Sigh.. what I really want is just a vanilla android froyo or ginger on my x2.. is that so hard to wish for??? OK guys, sorry for the rant..
I am looking for a widget to adjust the volume(s) from my deskto
Anyone know of one?
-kesnik
What I do is I click the volume button once and then slide it by hand. This is my temporary solution until I can find a widget.

Widgetsoid. If you make a widget and go to advanced you can make it pop up in notification bar, one of the icons being a sound adjuster, though not the native slider.
Best Volume Widget
The only one I've found to work without popping the volume slider every time you change volume.
Hi Lare2
Many thanks for that recommendation as not only does it work great but rather the having to have a separate control for each type of sound i discovered hitting the name changes to the next option so only need one widget on the Home screen instead of 4 or 5 and can alter all sound levels from it a great app and its free.

Good app. However, i want an widget that can display on notification bar. So when i click the icon, slider volume control appears (like when you are playing music), so i can control volume when i'm in other apps, no need to go back homescreen.

Also loving the HTC One - what a piece of hardware!
I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable entering the homescreen modification mode by longpress or pinch.
I keep getting there by mistake, and have also sent the default weather widget to the garbage can once or twice by accident.
Hi All,
I have a Fire 7 which i am using solely for a media and smart home remote. I specifically chose this device as it is cheap and had the alexa built into the home button.
I have made some changes to the device but not rooted it as don't want to completely loose some of the amazon features i.e. home button press for alexa.
I have installed play store and hijack launcher and have nova launcher installed. I find that some some widgets work and some don't. I am struggling with IFTTT widget and beautiful widgets at the mo. basically i install them either via the app store or an .apk and when click on the widget and try to place it on the homescreen it throws up the tablet settings menu, if i exit this it does not add the widget? can anyone advise why this is or if it can be solved. If i add a RM pluggin tasker widget it lets me and allows me to setup the button but but for the other two it doesn't?
any help appreciated.
regards jon

I have one further question and I am not sure what i have changed to cause this. The screen never goes to sleep just remains permanently on.
if i go to settings, display, i have a setting called display sleep mode which you can set but this only dims the screen and does not turn it off? an suggestions?
