recently rooted and flashed to cm7. but the cm7 camera app is horrible! i prefer my stock o2x camera app. cant seem to find any threads regarding this(forgive me if there are ) so yeah it'll be cool if someone can point me in the right direction! thanks
Hi im also interested as camera is poor on cm7, only thing wrong imho. I do however think its not possible to use the stock one as it uses lgs framework which doesn't exist in cm7, someone correct me if im wrong?

I doubt there is a way to use LGs camera app with CM7. Maybe try a 3rd party alternative (camera360, vignette, ..) or give Pauls MoDaCo Rom a chance.
Is there a way to install Samsung camera or a similar camera app on CM7 ? On market i didn't find anything similar with the same features...
The Samsung cam cannot be installed on cm7. However either the cm7 camera or the miui camera are quite serviceable. I also use Vignette when in the mood.
Is there some feature you are specifically looking for?

I like the smile detection and "cosmetic" effect in Samsung camera app. I also bought camera 360 that was very good but latest versions are really buggy. I've tried miui camera seems good but i didn't realized how to switch from Chinese to English or Italian language
Can we get ports for camera, gallery from ICS onto GB ?
I really can't give up the snappiness of Tornado for any of the ICS rom ports..But there were some apps that I like ...Msg would only be nice..
I'm sure they will be eventually ported to GB, but right now these apps are not working correctly on the ICS port for the SGS, so I don't think anyone would port them.

I honestly can't wait because I like the browser app too.. Right now ICS works somewhat but the quality is not the worth the switch. I tried it for two weeks and was impressed tho.
+1!

Hi. Someone ported camera app from ICS to GB? Or at least is it possible? I'm interested for my I9000. Thank you
For the first part of ur question answer is NO
I dont know if it worth porting it to GB (if possible which i doubt)
ICS camera sucks compared to GB
actually, I just want the panorama option. I think is better than all the other apps on market. Thanks for your answers.

This is the stock Android 4.3 camera, from build JSS15J
Among different interface from 4.2 camera, it's got a much more improved photosphere functionality.
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?yh3ljxb3mqy9xlt
Just replace the gallery apk in /system/app with this one and set permissions to rw-r-r and set ownership to root, then reboot.
It's compatible with 4.2 roms
Enjoy! :good:
I dont think this is stable for every day use.. I might did something wrong because i did get some FC but is not bad looking and kind of faster than 4.2..

It's working good to me, no FC
Did you're running a high bigmem kernel? If so, try a non bigmem to see if it's better
No Photosphere!
Downloaded the app and installed it in my Nexus S running CM 10.1.2. Gallery and camera works fine (experienced random FCs), but Photosphere option is missing! How to get it working? The menu shows only Still, Video and Panorama; Photosphere icon (as in 4.2 camera) is missing.

The image shown is that of the camera settings. I was not talking about that. In the image there is a camera icon on the left, by hitting that you will get the other types of camera. But in my device the Photosphere option is missing from that menu. It was available earlier with 4.2 camera.
Got FC when switching from front cam to back cam. No other issues and the app is noticeably faster.
RE:
This app is missing many options. If you look at the 4.1.2 or 4.2 camera app there are much more options: such as outdoor visibility, anti shake etc etc.
I'm running CM 10.2 on Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE - i9305 ....the stock camera app is really really bad and lacks tons of effects, settings, exposure changes won't work, ISO changes don't work and I would really love to get back on 4.1.2. stock app if that is possible? Any one knows how to do that?

Edit: One more quest: Cant the stock camera and the stock gallery be seperated? Cauze I like the Stock Android Camera but not its gallery! I want to remain on the Samsung's Stock Gallery with Android's Stock Camera! Is it possible?
