Has anybody thought about getting the Crackle app to work on the nook color?

Crackle works well on my Nook color.
I tracked down an apk.... installed.... and off it went.
I do experience minor frame skipping. Not enough to make it unwatchable.
Be aware that the commercials that run prior to your selection are very low rez and look horrible... You selection (TV or Movie) will not look like the commercial...
anyway, I am running CM 7.0.3 with an OC of 1300.

Crackle works great with ManualNooter 4.6.16 with overclock.

Hey folks I'm looking for a good video player. I use various formats but mostly avi but the only app I have found that plays it is QQplayer and that app sucks itself. Has vlc been ported to market yet or anything better?

MoboPlayer
The best I have used so far is MoboPlayer (http://moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html) You have to use the medium version since the Xoom doesn't support Neon. This is the only player I could get to play 720p video smoothly. Hope that helps and if you find something better let me know!
I would have to go with rockplayer. I have found it to play just about anything very well and haven't had any issues with videos on my Xoom.

+1 For Mobo. I had the Neon version and it was horrible. The medium version works great though!

Nope. It's the same thing on tablet screens. The picture is optimized to the available bandwidth, but SD is as good as it gets.
I thought it looked pretty good lol

I watched an episode of party down over lte yesterday - quality was fine

The quality is better than that of my tablet.
I hear that TI has a netflix app that streams in 1080i...
I don't mind the video streaming. It's the snap, crackle, and pop in the speaker that is upsetting me.

I have tried it on my NC -- CM7 (7.1.0 - encore - 1200mhz), but it does run a bit slow. The video interludes tend to de-sync (ie. the characters actions and the accompanying dialogue get further and further apart). I find it a bit more playable on my Atrix 4g.
i have it on my phone.... DEFINITELY worth the purchase, the game is awesome...I have yet ot try it on my NC, i do not know why i have yet to try it...i will do so later on tonight
Hi all,
I am thinking about buying the Nook HD+ but would like to know if its possible to use a microphone/headset with it? I want to use the NHD while travelling and need something that will work with my fritzbox and vpn apps.

I thought the Nook HD+ didn't have a mic! Can you give me a link to where it says it has one?
Cheers

You don't need a link. It has one. Look at the tiny hole next to the volume keys.
It is the Nook Color that does not have one.

Thats great, I found some specs that said it had a mic but most of the reviews I found said it had nothing, looks like I might be buying one then.
Thanks

Sound quality on the built-in microphone is stunning. It is really noticeable when I get a skype call from my friend's HD+.
My question is related.I think the HD would be perfect as a POS device for a startup retail space and was wondering if I could get a device like Square that expects microphone input from the headset jack to work with it. I tried it on a stock device but it wouldn't swipe a credit card. I am thinking CM-10 could enable the mic via the headset plug like on a cell phone. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?
Thanks,
Fred
Update, 2013-07-01 - I decided to go ahead and install CM 10.1 to see if the Nook woudl read teh input from Square and it did not work. Bummer.
So my plan is to immediately put the CM10.1 on this tablet.
I mainly watch movies, read books, browse the web, and play a few games. But not too many games.
Will this tablet give me great performance in general? Or is it going to be limited? What kind of snappiness do you guys have with yours?
For what you will be using for the tablet performance should be perfect with room to spare. The Nook HD+ is a pretty solid tablet, only problems I've encountered are some minor touch sensitivity issues and a little bit of lag here and there but with some tweaking and customization it works pretty well.
Had mine since Wednesday. Great for watching TV/movies (avi/mp4).
Good for reading the web.
Great for comics.
Not got around to reading via the Kindle app.
Plays music fine.
Really enjoying it, but just like previous poster some touch sensitivity issues.
Well, I guess I will just need to try it for a bit and see if I am happy with it.
Hey I noticed that with it stock there are "incompatible" apps from the play store. Fandango for instance. If I put CM on it, am I still limited or is the buildprop edited so we can actually download these apps

No, most that say incompatible will still be incompatible on CM10.1. Your option is to download on another device, transfer the apk to the HD+, enable unknown sources on CM10.1 and install them. They usually run.

Actually, I just did CM to mine. My benchmark before was around 9000, with CM it went to over 10000.
And I found that several 'incompatible' apps became compatible. MLB At Bat works (only for radio, TV can't find my location). Also, a widgets app, iheart radio, and a couple others suddenly became compatible as well. But as they say, your mileage may vary. Of all the apps I have, the only one that is still incompatible is the Nook app... go figure!
I can careless about the nook app. I honestly don't read much. I really bought this just because I got it so cheap

For reading of pdf books I suggest OrionReader, simple and smooth as hell.
For video MxPlayer could handle 720p animes on hd+
Really satisfied with the hd+, definitely a bargain to me
I am so glad you mentioned OrionReader. I use my Nook for reading music scores while playing piano and couldn't find an app that moved fast enough while turning the pages. Now I'm all set!

You're welcome Another good thing about it is you can customize behaviours for different tap zones, very convenient
