Does such a thing exist? Only thing I've found so far is 'Engineering Calculator', and whilst it works fine, it all feels a bit 80s. Is there anything along the lines of this?
If not, I fear I may fail University this year due to starting a quest to write my own (which in reality would still be worse than what I currently have now)
Take a look at http://home.comcast.net/~jonsachs/
thanks for that link Roar! It looks pretty decent to have...
i swear by hp48 emulator both on pc and pocketpc
http://pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=307
it can be skin'd in many many ways
Another good one is
http://www.spacetime.us/mycalculator/
Although their paid version, spacetime 3 is just THE most amazing calculator I've seen. But the free one is also good and really worth checking out.

Here is one more. I have used it my phone. Pretty neat

Hey guys!
I've been away awhile and I was trying to find which ROM was the most stable for Manila...but there's sooo much to read!! Wow, a lot's been going on here.
I'll be honest, I just don't have the time to weed out the best rom...
If anyone is so inclined and can be nice and has been keeping up to date on the new ROMs, can you please care to direct me to which ROM you believe is currently the best?
Thanks for your desire to help me out!!

Well, im afraid to tell you but this is all a personal preference. Different roms have different pre-packaged software. There is no such thing as the "Best" ROM . Its which one is Best for YOU.
It takes all of 15 minutes to download and install one...... just see which flavor suits ya best
On that note, I use L26M2DV4 and its pretty nice. Ive also heard HDIII M2D is good as well.
I've been flashing like crazy... from G-DK4 to everything but my best pick is HyperDragon III Jade +Manila 2D
Super Fast no bugs so far, battery is good , GPS fast
btw
AT&T in San Juan Puerto Rico
Thanks for the vote karlospr!
Much appreciated
Gotta check out PDACorners Versions as well, it rates right at the top .

Rupy's is the best IMHO
I have been burning M2D's for some time, including NATF, PDACorner, & Hyperdragon, but have found that RRE V5.9 is the best out. I realize that some will complain that it has too slow of a startup time, but how often do you really reset your phone. It is EXTREMELY stable and is suprisingly lite for what you get. You can find it below:
Rupy's Thread
unfortunately Rupy has called it quits on TILT roms as he has gotten the fuze, but give it a shot, i am very happy with it.

I can only answer part of your question. I really don't believe you need to be rooted for having sense 3.0 themes (technically called skins). You just need to find or make one and install it. I could be wrong. Sorry if this is no help

Any Help is good help. I figured that i could download some but problem is i have looked all over the net for some and cant find any customized skins, on top of that i cant seem to get them installed. I really would like to find out how to customize my own. Theres no program that can do it for you? If not, someone should make one.

The closest thing to "a program to do it for you" is made by the GoLauncher team, and its called Themefactory, available on golaunchers website.
Its very..."iffy". I've never used it to actually make anything, just try out.
If you truly dont think your going to do it, and have some idea's of what you want it to look like, Im also willing, to knock this out, as you provide feedback as to exactly what you want things to look like.
Just want Sense 3.0 style look? and thats all? Someones on it.

I Moved from Android And Love WP7 Personally, But You should look at the features that you need and use in android and find out if they are present in WP7.
Personally I know you'll have a shock when you notice how 2 phones with the same processors act differently, WP7 seems to really utilise the processor for speed, I sat in an o2 store using both models and within 10 minutes I knew I wanted the HD7.. It just felt more fluid and I like the way that it seamlessly integrates everything
WP7 is very pleasing to the eye and personally I Like it, but if you're gonna miss the features in Android i'd suggest don't move.
If you update to the developer build of mango you would get to see the shocking speeds of that too, it seems to make the phone even faster, and not by just a little bit, by a heck of a lot!
The apps are pricey however, one of the setbacks of the Xbox live system and the fairly new operating system sadly.
These are my opinions on the phones, but personally you might think differently
Thank you for your input; I've was always into WinMo and moved over to Andriod.
Didn't give WP7 a shot yet, though I must admit that it seems to be more faster and fluid than andriod. The applications are my concern..but I do need a change
let's see if anyone else would like to share their experience...
EDIT: does WP7 support VOIP/SIP?? That would be a deal breaker for me.
Thanks.
Hi,
Android graphically resembles a little win 6th. It has great potential but they really are useful for small percent of people. WP7 is a new OS, still far from perfect, but moving in the right direction. It is good that Nokia will work. This will force the great progress and I think at the end of the year we will already have a good system.
Personally I have HTC HD7 and HTC IS and I am not going to get rid HD7.
Regards
Hello all,
I'm new to android and my new AT&T vivid, I'm coming from iOS and really like my vivid so far. It is a little buggier than iOS but I do like it so far. I'd like to load up ICS but apparently that Rom isn't there yet. However, holiraider looks like a good start for me but I can't seem to find a straight forward howto. I've got plenty of computer experience with OS X, Linux and winbloze. I don't want to loose my LTE but I would like a ROM that allows a permanent root. Stock ICS would be. nice. If anyone could recommend a good free launcher other than sense 3.5 that would be great! Thanks in Advanced! Any advice would be greatly appreciated....just don't want to brick this thing!

I prefer GoLauncher EX, it's free and arguably the best out of all the launchers, definitely best out of all the free launchers IMO. It also has free ICS themes, just search for them on the market, read the reviews to find the best one. Then if you want to go even further, download an app called "font changer". Then find the font online called "Roboto" (should be a ttf file) and move it to your font changer folder. Then go into font changer and select the roboto font. Reboot your phone for all the effects to take place, and you'll be pretty damn close to ICS.
Oh, and don't you dare ever refer to windows as winbloze ever again.
thx
Thanks for the replies that "super guide" Is helpful at the least. I'm really hoping for stock ICS. Coming from iOS this is pretty f'in buggy. I'm hoping stock ics is a bit better or at least in a week or two when the update comes out it will be better. Any more thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Was pressing quote but accidentally thanked you...you're welcome for the random thanks
ICS looks like it is still weeks away, and that's the version with Sense. Not quite sure when a vanilla version will be available. I personally found the stock version pretty crappy myself as I would get random reboots. If you are looking for much much better performance and stability, pretty much any of the custom roms available will make you happy. I am personally running the latest WCX at the moment as it is setup perfectly for AT&T's network and is very smooth even with sense. If you're liking the phone now, just wait until you load up one of these custom roms, night and day...

Thanks for all of the speedy replies. I must say coming from iOS where everything was fairly consolidated there is certainly a plethora of information here as well as options. I've been doing some reading up, but if somebody could point me to a general but COMPREHENSIVE overview of rooting/installing custom ROMs/etc. that would be awesome! Also I've noticed there are a few ROMs available for the vivid, i'd love to hear peoples advice on what the "best" is and their experiences. While I am aware of some the benefits of rooting what are some of the really cool things that can be done as a result? Ie - I really love the cube page transition in Sense, on iOS I used a jailbreak tweak called barrel to get that transition amongst many others. Is there any way to get the cube transition in ADW? This is an entirely new platform for me and I'm way behind the curve. As a side note I've never been an ardent user of just one platform, I use what I like and what fits my needs. I've never really understood the whole "my os of choice is the best and everything else sucks" thing. Each platfor. Has its strengths and weaknesses. If I could afford it is probably have them all, mobile and DT/LT! Hell, I'll probably buy an iPad 3! I also see WebOS as being an excellent platform, hopefully HP will open source it and a couple big OEMs like HTC and the like will pick it up because from what I've read the TP's performance under WO is just plain sad...
