[Q] Keyboard italian layout "messed up" ! - LG Optimus 2x

Hi all!
My keyboard (stock v10b ROM) refuse to show me the lovely char ' (apostrophe) with other chars in the place of it (accents).
Little google session give me the result: messed up keyboard layout, with us US Layout insted Italian.
Language and Keyboard language are on Italian.. and I expect Italian keyboard.. but no way.
Google say me that some HTC Users experience a similar issue.. with a messed up keyboard layout after a ROM upgrade, but I don't know if the same solution can be applied (push italian layout on system/usr/keylayout
Someone experience this issue?
I want my italian layout back, fu**ing LG Keyboard !
Can you help me? (I've a stock but rooted phone)
Thanks!!!
===
my keylayout folder:
- AVRCP
- lgops-hid
- qwerty
- tegra-kbc
- usb_keyboard_102_en_us
my keychars folder:
- qwerty.kcm.bin
- qwerty-2.kcm.bin
- tegra-kbc.kcm.bin
- usb_keyboard_102_en_us.kcm.bin

Any helps?
Can you check the above folders, and see what files you have?
I think that an app or the root trick.. or something else has changed my qwerty keyboard layout.. so the apostrophe flown away in the qwerty.
But actually I'm tooo too too newbie to android to find a solution myself.. so I need an help from the community, for the community

English Rom with german keyboard layout?

Hello,
is there anyway to get an english rom with a german keyboard layout? I know the question may sound strange, but i would like to have this combination.
Nase
On the ftp site there is a keyboard sectiion, you will find a cab to change hardware keyboard.
For software keyboard you need resco or solved, do a search as we have a thread on keyboard.
Oh, that's nice. I will have look at the server.
Do I get you right, that i can change the hardware layout of the keyboard although the ROM has a english layout?
Nase
yes ... u can change keyboard layout to german (or something else) when u have installed aother rom language ........
just copy the cab file to your My DOcuments Folder and double click it ... after a soft reset the keyboard language is chaged ....
That is wunderful. I always thought that isn't possible to change the keyboard layout.
Now only my new MDAIII has to arrive and that i can start upgrading to another ROM

how to flash SX66 with german T-Mobile Firmware?

Hello to all,
knows someone how i can upgrade my Cingular Siemens SX66 with english Keyboard to a german MDAIII without Camera but with black berry client and english keyboard layout drivers?
I see many things about how to, but i don´t understand it really. (my english and my technical knowhow is too bad) When I find a solution that works, i would like write a how to in german so that another users can explain that too..
best greetings
joy.d
P.S.
it should not be free, i will donate that, Paypal is present ;-)
Best greetings
Joy

ok. now i have flashed t-mobile firmware in german and it works.
but how i can change the keyboard layout back to english qwerty
drivers?
and how i kill the t-mobile logo when i put on the SX66? ;-)
we dont have a file for german rom English Keyboard in:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Localized_Keyboards
There is a tread somewere on Keyboards and not sure if wiki (tweaks) has the hack for that, its a reg key you need to change.
Thank you for the Info. ;-)
so i must search only for a registry tweak to change the driver from german Keyboard layout (qwertz) to english Keyboard layout (qwerty) ?
I must not use the Cab Files in
ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Localized_Keyboards ?
I think i must change only the driver for the mechanical Keyboard ?
the soft keyboard is ok with qwertz. But at the mechanical Keyboard
i cant change the Letters only with a Edding waterproof marker ;-)
Puhh.. Heavy.. that all.
when i finished, i write a documentation in german ;-)
and when it´s work than german people´s like me
(bad english) are welcome to ask me how to ;-)
Not all that hard,

You have 2 Keyboards
Hardware (Based on the rom, (thus now in german) change with the reg tweak to English)
Software (Based on the rom (now in german) but you can load a external one which you will not need.

QWERTY problem after flashed O2 Xda into K-jam English!!

Hi all,
After reading some good topics on this forum, I flashed my German O2 Xda into K-jam English sucefully. The Qtek_9100_RUU_Prodigy_10107105_Qtek_WWE_ship & the i-mate K-JAM_WWE_1010903_106_10110 files
are 100% working.
But when using the slided out keyboard, the differnt letter & symbols mapping cause some problem. I always got
the wrong buttons!
When I press "Z" , I get letter "Y", when I press symbol "@", I get "+".
Can someone know how to resolve this?
Big Thanks!
Have a look at this app. It might work on the Wizard.

Thanks for your suggestion, mitchello. I have tried it yet. I visited the website, but I think this mapping does not quite solve the problem, because it is a bit complicated & cannot solve the symobls layout.
TRY THIS
4. for the german keyboard on english ROM
4a. get a registry editor (like Resco)
4b. search the Change the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
4c. edit - Layout in decimal to 66567
I have changed the value 00000409 into 00000407 in the registry : \\currentcontrolset\control\keyboardlayout
active > 00000409 , but still nothing happen.
Could there be some extra files are needed?

Tried as you said, but could not find oem\Qwerty or similar. It only has a \\currentcontrolset\control\keyboardlayout
active > 00000409 , changing 00000409 into 00000407 did not help.
I gusess some more files are needed!
Hello,
i have also search the registry for 00407 or 00409 and i found
entrys, but nothing changes are working.
Nobody has an solution for the keyboard problem ?
regards, Peter
So what is your physical keyboard layout?
(i' don't know if there is a german layout)
Is it a QWERTY board?
I have upgraded my dutch (QWERTY) wizard to the 1.1.9 K-jam rom.
And it works fine, so the default key layout for that ROM is QWERTY.
i have an german keyboard and the imate k-jam rom and now
the keys z and y are not right. (and all the other symbol keys)
Other people has the same problem.
regards

my German O2 XDA's physical keyboard layout is QWERTZ, but K-Jam English Rom require a physical keyboard layout of QWERTY. So there is a Z & Y (also some symbols ) mis-placing problem.

If you don't want to edit the registry manually try using Registry Wizard. It's available for download in the regular Wizard forum and has an option for keyboard layout.

Finnish (+other Nordic) Keyboard layouts + local T9 Dictionary

Hei All
Here's the Finnish (+Swedish + Danish + Norwegian) localized keyboard layouts including specific T9 dictionary.
The .cab-file includes:
- portrait keypad
- compact qwertry
- full qwerty landscape + portrait
Pros:
- Nordic keys (äöåæøå) available 'on the surface'
- one touch typing available on your own language
- world completion available on your own language
- localized keys to any cooked/shipped ROM
Cons:
- Capital äöæøå doesn't work in fullqverty ABC-mode (T9-mode OK)
Tested in Panosha light 5 (1.93.xxx.x) successfully.
Edit (26.07-08): I removed other files because the.cab file is installable/uninstallable now. Installation doesn't remove any other nordic/english dictionaries.
Completed .cab file
Hi suomalaiset ja suomen mieliset
The attachment file above is replaced. New .cab-file includes enhanced Diamond keyboard graphics with letters äöå. Every Diamond input layout is covered. This makes possible 'one touch typing' and world completion in Finnish: typing is fast and handy
The .cab-file is unistallable and tested with ROM 1.93.xxx.x (Panosha Lihght 5 WWE). I couldn't find any errors. I hope neither can you.
Br,
Illodin
Great, will provide a link to this thread from my dedicated article.

Here's the Finnish keyboard layouts including Finnish dictionary. These are defenitely not official layouts according to ISO-standard
But anyway portrait keypad, compact qwertry, full qwerty and landscape full qwerty will include 'ääkköset'.
Just import the registry file and copy .txt files to windows folder. I used Resco Registry Editor. If the keyboard layout is blank after the installation, please select Finnish dictionary.
I also made .cab file for practising purposes only. It works, but the .cab-file will remove all other dictionaries than Finnish one. You need to install "T9 Input 14 Languages Update.cab" from DesktopMan if you need other dictionoaries also. The .cab file is not always uninstallable.
I've tested these files with Panosha light 5 successfully. Please don't hesitate to use these files -on your own risk.

You don't need those. Just install cab. Working fine with my Diamond.
@ Illodin
Would it be possible for you to do a danish keyboard layout with æ, ø and å?
If you can it will be much appreciated.
I think I found a bug. If using Full QWERTY with T9, "Ä" is recognized as "." and "Ö" as ",".

Thanks I think this improve my chances learning Finnish
Ä and Ö do not work.
I can not use ä or ö. When I press ä or ö, it is the same to as to press long time, common or blob.
What should I do?
Hi Meiz Matti23 Friborg
I rearranged nordic keys.
@Meiz: True, there was a bug. I fixed the bug by rearranging the keys. It should be Ok now.
@Matti23: It should work OK now .
@Friborg: I added Danish letters only for you
In full qwerty-layout, ABC-mode nordic capitals äöå don't work. In T9-mode it is OK.
Br,
Illodin
Thank you so much Illodin for making the Danish layout.
Just downloaded and installed the file and it works perfectly.
Nordic keys localized
Hi
I just mapped basic nordic (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) keys to localized keyboard graphics and spesific T9 dictionaries.
æøåöä-keys is also added to landscape full qwerty graphic.

Illodin

Really missed that layout, on my Diamond.
Keep up the good work

The only thing that could make me happier right now is if I could get the swedish keys on the full keyboard also, Is this possible or planned for a future release?
Keep up the good work

Hello Illodin,
Is it possible to make a finnish dictionary also for the transcriber? Writing english is very nice with it, but finnish - not a chance.
Thanks Illodin, it just works fine with danish layout, great help.

Keyboard Layout after WM6.5 upgrading

Dears:
I am trying to retain the arabic keyboard layout from the original ROM because I waited long time to buy the arabic device. Then when we started the upgrading, it's all gone.
I found accidently the following cab file in the windows folder of the original WM6.1 ROM. So I figured if I install it on WM6.5 customs roms it will re-enable the arabic keyboard, or so I thought.
Anyone can offer help on how to have the arabic keyboard working and see whether this file is of real use or not? thanks.
Samer.
can you find "Bulgarian Phonetic" keyboard layout ?
10x
ok, so no one can answer, let me now rephrase the question maybe it becomes simpler.
If you have an official NBH for your TP2 device which comes defenetly with special files and settings to activate non-english characters (in my case arabic), how can I find these files and settings and extract them from the NBH file?

Thank you for your concern. This discussion is about remapping the main keys to a different language. What I am looking for are the suplemtnatry keys which are activated after pressing the mail key as it has a symbol of switch language.
So in other words, I have 2 languages on my keyboard, english and arabic, and there is a key that changes the complete keyboard to arabic or vice versa dynamically.
I am hoping to find a solution for that
