Hi All,
I have a very strange problem. My browser is refusing to load pages... any pages. (i.e. www.google.com, xda-developers.com, etc.)
Nexus One (Google I/O One)
CyanogenMod-7.0.3-N1
I've tried the following:
Known working network connectivity via 3G.
Known working network connectivity via WiFi.
Cleared the cache for the Browser.
Cleared the data for the Browser.
Cold rebooted the device.
It's weird because I know I have network connectivity because other applications which depends on network connectivity (i.e. Google Market, Amazon App Store, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) works absolutely fine. And even weirder, applications which use WebViews works fine...
Not sure what else to do before I do a full-wipe and hard reset of my N1.
Anyone run into any similar issue? Everything else is running fine on the N1. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Kermee
Is it the same with other browsers (ex: dolphin)? If not then maybe you could just use those browsers
Yeah. I tried Firefox and it works. It's only the Browser.
I ended up doing a full wipe and reinstall of CM7 and gapps and restored and now the browser is working again. Very strange...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for the help.
Cheers,
Kermee

Hi
i've this kind of problem:
Original browser and dolphin browser don't load any page, in wifi and in 3g, any other app that use data connection work fine.
I've this problem for 2 last day, no new app installed...
in attach logcat, any ideas?
THANKS!!
Idk
I also just started having problems with all the browsers. Running Superfly 1.3 Froyo and none of the browsers will connect. Tried Opera, Steel, Dolphin/Dolphin HD, stock and a couple of others. And no, I don't have them all installed at the same time. Starts loading then kicks back to the home screen. Cleared caches and problem still remains. Any suggestions other than a full wipe. All other apps seem to run fine.
I know that will probably be what happens but I can hope. Hate the thought of setting up the phone again with over a hundred apps.
idkidk, hope you don't mind me tacking on to your post, was searching & ran across it. Hopefully we both get fixed.
Since upgrading to XXJPH, Chrome to Phone has stopped working. The Chrome extension says that it sent the link, but nothing happens on my phone. I reinstalled the app several times, but that didn't help either.
Maybe related to this problem, AppBrain's Fast Web Installer doesn't work, either.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Does anyone else have this problem at all?
Works like a charm here. Chrome to phone is quite prone to connection errors, so maybe try connecting/disconnecting and also linking/unlinking your Gmail account on the phone to Chrome to Phone.
I initially also had same problem when I upgraded to JPH.
UnInstall + Cache clear + Install did the trick for chrome to phone, but still I am unable top get webInstaller running I think app is not compatible with froyo.
anyone running it sucessfully please report...
Chrome to Phone works. Linpush too works.
C2DM (Cloud to Device Messaging) feature of Froyo is working fine on JPH.
Hello people!
I'm having a lot of difficulties trying to make my Galaxy S surfing on the net correctly... No matter what I do, I get 99% of the time this error message: "Web page not available". Sometimes it works, but very rarely. I'm using my home wifi connexion, and I tried every single browser I have: stock browser, Dolphin, xScope... only Opera Mini is working and loading pages normally.
I tried to load pages on MIUI, then on Simplicity, S.U.R.F.A.C.E. then Hybrid... nothing changes, still not able to load pages. I did a clean flashing of a stock JVQ with repartition and I finished with a hard reset after that... still nothing! One thing is that I'm able to load my router's configuration page (at 192.168.1.1). But I simply cannot connect to internet pages like Google, Facebook, Youtube, XDA etc...
I tried other devices on the same router and it's working fine: an iPhone, a Nokia phone, a laptop, a desktop. I tried another router, but nothing...
I have had the same problem, until I have updated my firmware
If you can't right now use Opera mini or Firefox portable. They use their own browser base, and should work fine
On normal data (3G) you can surf on these websites?
Whats about apps?
If you cannot connect through apps do the following:
Go to the setuppage of your router.
Type in your password and login.
Look for the WLAN settings.
Go to devices and look, if your device is in that list.
If yes:
Did you maybe block port 80 for your device?
If not:
Did you typed in the correct password?
Does your router accept new devices? (WLAN extended settings)
Report back
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
I had a very similar problem where I could only load in sites in opera mini (i assumed it must be something to do with opera mini rerooting traffic through their servers or something) but skyfire, dolphin, stock, opera mobile all would not work. Apps all worked fine like whatsapp, viber, and so on. This happened after i accidentally used the sim toolkit on my phone and it sent "browser settings".
For me deleting and redoing my APN settings fixed it but that would only work if your problem was on 3g. Worth a try anyway.
Thanks for your quick answers

That's what I'm actually doing: I'm using Opera Mini. But it's not as good as other browsers such as Dolphin. I can do a firmware update, or downgrade even, if it is a firmware related issue. I'm actually on JVR.

We still do not have 3G in my country.
Other apps are working fine, they can connect and download data, not everytime but much more than browsers. For example, market would not immediatly download new apps, it takes sometimes 2 or 3 tries. Anyway, I think they're working fine.
I checked my router's configuration to see if port 80 was blocked for my Galaxy S, but it's not. Actually I set it on DMZ mode to see if it will work, but no result.
And I couldn't find something to allow new devices on my router. But I guess it's not a problem since anything I tried to connect to it before worked fine.

Anyway, thank you for your help
I tried to connect on another router, from another place, and it worked. I installed a DD-WRT firmware on the router on which I wasn't able to connect but nothing changed... could it be the router hardware itself? The strange thing is that everything else is working on it (iPhone, laptop, desktop, other phones...).
hello I have a problem with my new galaxy s3 mini.
all came running properly but any moment I can not see youtube videos via wfi. I do not know if it fails because of an update.
In 3g functioning properly. This I have tried both in the app or directly through the browser (chrome) and is the same.
By wifi stays loading and played very very slow but when I disable wifi and 3g active and works perfectly.
I tried downgrading the app but it is the same. I've said the problem is not with the app also fails through chrome via wifi. All other applications work fine via wifi.
Please can u help me?.
At this time I deleted all my apps including Tapatalk to rule but still the problem persists, by WIFI does not work.

If wifi works with other apps, have you checked your router? Maybe it just needs a restart.
Hi, thanks in advance for your reply.
Today I rebooted my router and still failing.
Inside youtube app or vía chrome: Suggested Videos load fast and the comments as well, but the video you want to see still loading, plays two seconds and then loaded again. etc. ..
If we turn off the wifi and activate mobile data extremely fast loading video.
PS: All applications are working fine via wifi.
Please help.
At this time I have disassociated my google plus account my youtube account but it has nothing to do. Same thing. By wifi is too slow.
I'm having trouble with the play store and chrome and other google apps periodically getting connection time outs while on my mobile network. It is a strange problem because my other apps like games and HTC internet and anything that isn't a google app can connect to the internet and work just fine.
I have tried clearing the cache of the play store and affected apps like chrome, but it doesn't work. I also tried deleting the hosts.txt file in the root directory, but that didn't help either. The only thing I have found to work is to go into airplane mode and then come back out, but that is only a temporary fix until the error comes back again.
I have been searching around various forums for the past couple days and haven't been able to find anything helpful. I am currently on the viper 7.0.1 and haven't seen any mention of this problem in that thread.
Any helpful insight and advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Anyone?
I have the same issue and haven't found a solution yet. Happening on ARHD 82.0 with eX18, though it seems to be a problem on stock kernel as well. For me, i can't get google play store, snapchat, pushbullet...etc, things that rely on google play services, to work at all on mobile data and mobile data only. Wifi is fine, almost all other apps (twitter, facebook, chrome) work fine in any case. I have tried a full wipe with no improvement. Only thing that seems to fix it temporarily is to wipe dalvik cache.
