I'm running fear V10 and I can't seem to install anything anymore. After running the .apk and selecting install I get the message 'Application not installed'. If the app is labeled with the full name, like uk.co.ashtonbrsc.catchthatbus.apk I can push it to my data/apps folder reboot and it's installed. I've tried fixing permissions in CWM in desperation. I just don't know what else to do other than a wipe and reinstall which I don't really want to do (Obviously). Anybody got any suggestions for me.
Ohh I've also tried unmounting both internal and external sdcards, but thats still the same.
Some market place apps return the error 'Unknown reason-110' if that helps anybody
Read my post here and follow the link see if that helps,
It worked for me

Just recently I can no longer install apps. From the market or anywhere else, I always get "INSTALLATION unsuccessful". My phone storage has 50mb and plenty of space on my sd card. Also I set the install location to where it installs to sd automatically. What's the deal?
Anyone have this problem?
im also wondering this. often i get this. the app wont install at all or i have to wait a while to try and install it again n it works. wonder whats causing this

I've been having this issue too, and not only in Froyo.
U moved the dalvik cache to cache partition and cache partition is now full
I find a solution! If you were having problems similar to me, this should work. Anyways, goto terminal, su and type:
rm /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec

I rebooted and everything is back to normal and I can install apps again.

I was going to say do a logcat when trying to install the app to see what its moaning about!

I'm having this same issue. I formatted my system, data, and cache. Now nothing will install. The suggestions above haven't worked yet.
Has someone found a solution yet?
This is happening for me too...my market/play store keeps force closing and I can't install 90% of the things I try to install (even things that have been on my phone in the past). I feel like chucking my phone out the window I'm getting so frustrated.
It may be because of my service provider (Cox) but my current market version is 1712. By searching Google, I've downloaded the Vending.apk version 1713 and tried installing it from my sd card and I get the message "Application not installed". So I figured "Hey, there might be some kind of issue, I'll uninstall the current Market," so I did so with TitaniumBackup (Nandroid first), which completely fudged it to hell as well as giving me the same error "Application not installed". So I restored from the nandroid and am back on the 1712 version.
My question is, is the 1713 update Sprint specific? Or am I doing something wrong?
PS: The apk I was using is below.

I'm not sure what the differences are, but have you tried 'pushing' the app to /system/app/ ? I know that some apps aren't able to be installed by clicking on them (within the gui), but that some have to be manually added to the /system/app/ directory via adb.
Code:
adb push c:\Whereitslocated\Vending.apk /system/app/
Maybe that'll help ya out?
Always nandroid first just in case
I'll definitely give that a try...when I can. I turned off my phone to do a nandroid first and now it wont boot into recovery or normally. I can get to the fastboot screen but not into recovery. It just goes to the white screen with HTC in green....
what recovery 'were' you using? (which isn't currently working as you can see, lol)... you may need to flash a newer version of whatever recovery u'r using. u can do so via fastboot using instructions from XDA.

I was using Darchstar's "Unofficial Amon_RA 1.7" recovery and it was working fine for over a month. Ill have to reflash it when I get home I guess.

By the way this worked once I got my recovery fixed.
Just rooted my NC today using auto-nooter for 1.0.0.
Downloaded Titanium Backup since everyone is recommending it. When I started it up, no errors, but when I try to go into the Batch menu, I get the following error:
"Sorry, system requirements were not met. Please check error messages on startup."
Anyone have any ideas?
I had to download z4root, run that and choose re-root.
After that, I was able to use Titantium Backup.

Titanium Backup has a button in the center that says "Problem?" - you may need to click that to install busybox for you..
Did you manually push busybox, su and superuser.apk?
Z4root is an app that does some of that for you if you haven't or don't know how. Instructions are in the wiki,.
-CC
It's seems the external microSD issue, maybe you need to load a microSD into NC, it should work. Give it a try.
Sorry to revive a buried thread, but I'm also getting this, even though I can see the sdcard when I use ASTRO. Also, if I try to access the card via my PC, it doesn't find it. I can also see the card from the recovery module. I'm going to install my new ROM (Cyanogen 7 RC2) and see what happens after that.
UPDATE: Something went goofy with my card, but it fixed itself ... weird
I rooted with kingo and installed Urdriod version 2 via safestrap version 3.75. Then installed Titanium backup pro. Problem is Titanium doesn't work anymore. All the options are not there. It is saying current backup location is inaccessible.
I then noticed that many of my applications that work in conjunction with the sd card do not work. Youtube is broken on 4G. Evernote is broken. Many of my games are broke as well.
I then did a clean install of another Rom Dynamic Kat. It didn't fix anything.
Any suggestions?
Install xposed framework and this module.

You shouldn't need the zip did you try installing the apk?
It looks like its installed with the rom but not active. I cannot activate it and i cant seem to get the module to work either. I tried the apk but it just says that i already have it and it wont install.
Phone is alot less useful if it cant interact with the sd card. Is there another way to get this going or to get the phone to read the sd?
Is superuser installed and working?
yes it is. I don't believe it's that.

What error message are you getting when you try to install the framework from the xposed installer app? You might also try uninstalling the xposed installer app then installing the version from the download link
Here is exactly what the message says:
SDcard:/storage/emulated/0/android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/files
Copying Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip
Could not extract Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip
I know the copy I have isn't working but if I erase it I might never even get a copy on. But the copy I have won't even install or update.

Looks like this came up in the xposed forum here
Sounds like the xposed updater app extracts a backup to the external sd card during installation...which you can't access, hence the error. The consensus seems to be to install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount&hl=en to fix the folder permissions then xposed should install properly.
Well I think installing FolderMount did the trick. after i put it on the phone it detected a script error and asked if i wanted to fix it.i agreed and it rebooted and that did it! Thanks everyone!!!!!
Hello,
Something goes wrong at my ROM. I installed an app to fix the writepermission. It works, all things fine. But then I played with some apps to customize my ROM and suddenly an freeze and then an reboot. After this my es Explorer tells me "path not found". The sdcard symlink goes to /mnt/media_rw/sdcard1/. The other path to access the sdcard are /sdcard1/ /storage/sdcard1/
This works but not the symlink. I can also access the sdcard with Apps like Google+, picture Album or other. Only the Explorer won't work.
I try to change the /system/etc/permission/platform.xml but won't work. (I copied the stock file from the rom zip)
Can anyone help me to fix this? I don't want reflash the rom. I'm at Holiday and no wifi to update all the apps again. [emoji33]
Thanks
Greets Lars
Start your phone without sdcard, then put it back. See if this works. Try uninstalling the apps that messed your phone.
Nothing works. I make an Backup of my Apps and data and make an reinstall. Problem solved.
