Wanted to ask you when did you start having this problem? Did you upgrade your OS from 1.6 to 2.2.1? If you did, did you notice if that was when you started having your trouble? Did you update any of the drivers for you pc to reconize your phone to the newest 1s?
"I'm so broke I can't even buy time!!!"

Yes I did update it. And I know for sure I've used the Future Dial since. Usually I always gota uninstall the software and drivers then reinstall and it'd work. Its not "rooted" or whatever its called. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using windows 7? Also, did you check to see if any firewalls or antivirus progams you may be running are blocking the driver? Check them to see. Also you might want to try uninstalling future dial again but this time completely clean it from you pc. Registry included if you know how to do so without wiping the wrong data out.
When installing it again, right click on the instal file, goto properties, then click the compatibility tab and check the box at the bottom to run the instal as an Administrator. When in the properties of the instal make sure its unblocked. Windows 7 has a tendacy to block certain instal files. If it is blocked you will see it at the bottom of the general tab once properties is open for the file.
Also, once you've done that, then right click the instal file again and click the "run as adminastrator" option in the drop down window. Hope this helped m8. Another thing you can try is plugging your phone into your pc through another usb port so your pc will try and reinstal the drivers for the phone.

Wow! I lost u at ARE U RUNNING WINDOWS 7. I have no idea, I bought my pc bran-new in the box and at that time it said windows vista on the box and on that tower thing where u plug everything into and put disc's in. Iv had future dial working before and every 2-3months id export my contacts and print em incase I lost my phone, and every time tried using it id have to uninstall and reinstall and did the same process every time with no problem. This time, trying the same process, nothin. Feel like just pouring water in that tower and putting this zio in a vise as tight as I can. I appreciate any and all help, but it ain't a big enough deal to waist anybody's time. I just thought it'd be a quick fix or a simple step I wasn't doing.

You can always set up your google account to sync your contacts online. That way you'll never lose them.

I was just about to suggest that to him Spz0. I just got this message noticed you beat me to the chase. lol
Ok itrustno1, Like Spz0 said, you can use your phones google account to sync all your contacts. If you goto your gmail account online you can find your contacts list on the left side pane in Internet Explorer window towards the top. Once you click on "Contacts" Internet Explorer will load the page with all your synced contacts. From there you can click on the "More Actions" button at the top of your contacts list, you will see in the drop down list "Import", "Export" ect. Click on the Export to Export your contacts to you computer. Should pop a box up asking where do you want them saved to. Pick a easy location as to where you may want to save them. Desktop is a good choice then you can find them easy enough and move the folder wherever you need or want.
As for you Operating System, your most likely running Windows Vista if thats what your pc came with. Not much different then running windows 7 the next OS up from Vista. Vista is a resorce hog though.
So you know, I have future dial on my pc and i'm running windows 7, I personally don't like using Future Dial cause it was too much a pain to do. I had simular problems as yourself.
Hope Spz0 and I were able to help. If not you can contact me using [email protected] and during this weekend maybe I can walk you through a few things you can try to get future dial working again for you. I won't make any promises as to whether or not I can fix the problem. Its usually easier for me to be infront of the pc i'm working on so i can see exactly whats going on to try and fix the problem.

Turn off request to access internet?

I have the ATT Tilt and I'm sick of it asking me if it's ok to connect to the internet everytime I run an app that uses it. I tried to find something to turn it off but have been unsuccessful. Any ideas?
Thanks!
What program are you using that is asking?
Google Maps, Citi Mobile, Opera Mini, Gmail app, umm, basically anything that isn't an ATT prog.

This is the notifications. Go to Start->Settings->Personal->Sounds & Notifications->Notifications.
Check "Connection Established" and unchecked Display Message on screen. This should resolve the popup.
No not the pop-up, the actual screen that says it's an untrusted application, might cost airtime blah blah. On my D807 one of the options is to allow and only ask once but here i only have to ask next session or next time (as in everytime it tries to connect while i'm using it). Not a huge deal but it's pretty inconvenient...
These sound like java apps.
Yep, those are all java
You say all non-AT&T apps. That's not true. Its only Java appsthat have this...
To do that, you have to do some hex editing...Search for a thread for the Opera Mini browser. THere are step-by-step instructions there to get rid of the prompts, at least in that program...
EDIT: Here's a post I put together to explain how to do this, as simply as it can be explained...

[Q] Bluetooth Sync Contacts to Car - FirstName/LastName

So I'm connecting my phone to my car via Bluetooth. Whenver the contacts sync over, they sync over last name/first name. I keep them on my phone First name/last name. Anyone know of a way to have them send to the phone differently? Everything I can tell, this is something that the phone controls, not the car.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Derek

I have the same issue. You wouldn't happen to have a Nissan would you?
No I have a Kia Forte 5 door, but everything I've researched, this is a phone specific issue. My guess is that this is hard coded into the bluetooth software by Samsung, but probably a way for a dev to provide an option or flip it around...maybe an app that could do it too.

Congrats on the Optima....is the 11? Those look sweet.
When your car connects to your phone, you should see something in your status bar asking you for permission to sync contacts to your car.
If that doesn't work, use bluetooth file transfer app from the market and you can sync contacts over from the menu in that app.
Let me know what format your contacts go over in!
Thanks! Yeah, picked up the 2011 Optima Ex yesterday. It was a ***** to find. I wanted the Nav and Premium package, so it took me about a week to track one down. I love it so far. It's hard to find a car that compare for the price.
As far as the contacts, I'm still having problems. I've tried using Bluetooth File Transfer, shows they go through, but nothing in my contacts list in the car. I've used the built in contacts program, go to more, and select send bluetooth. It shows it sending them all, and says it worked on my phone, but the car still doesn't show any contacts. Weird.

Very strange. Maybe its an issue with the default rom? Very strange. I'd try to sync the car withanother phone. If it still doesn't work, take it in to Kia.
Contact data is sent in fields. AFAIK one can set the display to either format without changing the data. I've never had an issue with format and recently changed from first/last format to last/first format without a new sync.

And how would you do that exactly?
I've tried changing my contact sort order, display option all ways, resyncing, etc with no change. It almost seems like the Captivate is set to always send the contacts a certain way. I understand it's fields, but all research I've done indicates the phone decides how to send the list (Last/First or First/Last).
But if you have any specific instructions that will do something differently, let me know!
Set the display option in your car. That said every car is different. Yours may not have that option.
JRider, I've the same issue here with Optima EX 2011. I can sync my iPhone with the contacts fine but not my Eris with rooted Android 2.2 or 2.3 ROM.

Amazon Android App Market won't let you sign in fix.

Ok, this worked for my on both my MyTouch 4G and My T-mobile Samsung Galaxy tablet. First off go to http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011 with is the site where you download the app from. Click on your name and go to your account settings. Somewhere on there will have a list of devices that you've used to sign into that app store with. Even if it's the same device, it comes up again or if you change roms it comes up as something else, there is an option below each one to deactivate it. When you click deactivate device, it will disappear within about 15 seconds. Do so with each one. I had about 20. I deleted every single one of them. Then I sent the email to my phone and tablet to download the amazon app store again and I installed it on both devices, and they both work fine now. I know these directions were kinda vague, it's because when I went back to look where it was that you see all of your devices and I've already deleted it. So look around in account settings and on the page where you enter a phone number or E-Mail, it sends the link too download it. It worked great for me, If someone else can do this and explain it better than me, feel free, any other questions, I'll try and help the best I can, [email protected] .
So basically go to that site on the link that I provided at the beginning of the post. Find where all your devices are stored, it's on the right side, click the button that says deactivate device below it, and it about 15 seconds it will disappear. Now delete EVERY one of them. All of them. Then put in your phone number or Gmail address then re-download the app-store then you should be able to sign in fine, let me know how it works and if someone can explain this better than me please do,
again I hope this helps, It should work on all devices,
Knotrkr
I hope that helps you guys out,
Patrick.
This worked for me, and I just went into application settings, did a force stop, clear cache, and wipe data. Then re-started amazon app store, signed back in, and it is working fine again.
just open all your lines and it will work..

A simple general google search brought up your thread Patrick and it was a great fix My work around was just reinstalling the old data from titanium backup. But on my new galaxy nexus I didn't have any backups for it. Your fix Worked like a charm! I am a happy camper thanks to you Patrick. :victory:

[Q] Disable HTC Sync Manager

I have found a couple threads on this topic, but none of them provide a clear cut solution mostly because they have workarounds related to disabling notifications on the computer side.
The issue is I have a Mac, so instead of a notification, every time I connect the phone, the phone turns on "development mode" and then I see an emulated CD on my desktop and the application pops up.
I want to disable or delete this emulated CD. I would like a way to do this on the phone side, perhaps just disabling a service or application. I am not rooted and don't plan on it.
TIA

delete the iso from the phone
it's in /etc/PCTOOL.iso
use a root capable file explorer.

FWIW (and I don't think this will help you necessarily), I didn't delete the file. I renamed it using a Root Explorer from PCTOOL.ISO to BackupPCTOOL.ISO and rebooted. I figured I'd leave it just in case.... Good luck.
I've also:
1) disabled HTC Sync Manager from All Apps
2) deleted PC Synchronization.apk
3) deleted HTC Sync Manager.apk
4) deleted AndroidHTCSync.apk
I want to be able to launch HTC Sync Manager manually when I DO want to sync stuff (mostly my music), but not every time I connect my phone just to charge it. Sigh.
You also have to disable kernel write protection. If you don't, it comes back. Minor details....
I don't even se that file in my etc folder.. :/

[Q] A lot of general questions on how to use android/note3

First time android user, ive had my note 3 for barely a day. Just switched from the iPhone 4s, so my switch to android has been surprising to say the least.
The spoiler below summarizes my first struggle/rant with how "amazing" android customization is.
They say android is very customizable, and it is, but what they don't tell you is that there are no good apps to do what you want to do. For example, I tried syncing my iTunes library to my android phone. Doubletwist wouldnt work because my library is in a different place than where iTunes installs normally, and it seems that iTunes only updates iTunes Library.xml instead of the iTunes Music Library.xml, so not all my music is transferred to my phone anyway. Good interface, bad performance. Right now im using the free trial of iSyncr, which works great, but has a ****ty icon/interface, with the free trial of playerpro for a music player with a good interface and the ability to change play counts and ratings so it reflects in my iTunes library. Once those free trials end, I'll have to dish out 10 bucks just to do what was native on iPhone. I understand you can drag and drop music, but im not gonna go through my entire music library every time i have to transfer over a new song (so I avoid duplicates of songs already on there), or wait 30 minutes each time to transfer my whole library over every time I want to sync (replacing my old library). Google Play is nice and all, but it doesnt keep track of play counts, and I just hate the fact that its streaming. What if I was stuck in a class that was in a brick classroom that just killed my network connectivity and provided no wifi? (I do encounter this at my university some times). Does that mean I cant listen to music?
1. What are the LED notifications? What does red mean? what is blue? what is green? My note 3 didnt come with a manual... I think my phone told me when i was setting it up, but it was a lot to take in, so i forgot some parts.
2. Are the apps with a blue circle with a white arrow on the lower bottom left corner of the apps free? or just shortcuts to buy the app in the app store? I hope they are free apps that come bundled with it, since I would love to use the sketchbook app, but I dont wanna pay for it when I can use the mobile free version.
3. I want to get rid of the bloatware on my phone, but I have no clue which apps are bloatware and which ones are actually useful (besides the obvious ones that are branded with AT&T and samsung(are the samsung apps useful?). What ROM should I flash to get to stock android (and rooted since it seems like some of these roms come with root). I dont want any fancy themes or whatever, since most of the time, they suck.
4. Can I set lockscreen notifications? Or do i have to unlock my device, pull down the notifications bar, and go from there?
5. Can I customize the icons on the status bar? Like their location on the status bar (id like to have my 4g and at&t signal on the left, instead of the 4g in the middle of nowhere) or what shows up on the status bar?
6. What is the best themeing app called?
7. uhh thats all the questions I can think of now, but its only been a day. Once i start using it more, i'll have more questions, but im sure I can figure those out myself unless its a stumper.
edit:
7. How do I set my mail to automatically load images?

The manual does not answer any of my questions. If you disagree, show me what page actually answers any of my questions.
Instead of just sending me to google.com, is it really that hard to take 1 minute of your time, and post your own opinion? I would only be okay with this if there was a stick or something that actually answered my questions, but theres not, so stop trying to be a smartass.
you said you used your iphone before the s4. wow, thats so helpful to me. Why not take the time to answer my questions instead of bragging how you had a previous android phone that helped you transition.

This is a very helpful community BUT this question belongs to Official Stupid Questions Thread - No Question too Stupid thread. Took me 5 seconds to find the manual using google and you did say you didn't get one.

Just because i said I didnt get one doesnt mean that I cant google it for myself. I already googled it before I even posted in this thread, and looked through it. I decided it didnt help me, so I posted.
Why the hell do you even have this sub-thread if youre just gonna suggest that everyone post in the stupid questions thread? no one even replies there either, people just post new questions.
@Limeybastard
thanks for the video, thats pretty useful, but it only (barely) answers one of my numerous questions. what about my other questions?
im trying not to double post, but theres a 5 min timer between when I can edit posts...

3A) Check the video above that was posted or root your phone and use Titanium Backup Pro and freeze/delete the apps you don't want.

7. How do I set my mail to automatically load images?

7A) I use g-mail app and under options you can uncheck the option to load images only when connected to wifi so it will load images even without wifi.

thats really weird, I dont have an option for more settings on my stock email app. I have account settings, then under display settings, it shows display, composing and sending, auto advance, confirm deletions, priority senders, spam addresses, rules for filtering and split view mode. No other option for more settings or how often I want my mail being checked.
@ukic
thank you for your help now lol. However, some of your answers dont make sense to me. To change the icon locations in the status bar, you said hold down the icons. However when I do it, notification center gets pulled down. Im guessing I need root for this?
and I tried using the gmail app, and I do like it, I would just prefer if I could change the default inbox to be set to all mail. Any way I can do this?

No worries, I am still learning. It is like being in a foreign country and not understanding the language when coming from IOS devices.

In regards to default inbox > all mail, I haven't tried to do that but let me see if I can figure it out. Will let you know.

It doesn't help that you're coming from a platform that doesn't want to make it easy for you to move...
I feel the same way about the streaming music services, and I tried to explain this to my roommate who works at google, and has drunk the koolaid. The impression I got from him was that we shouldn't be in places that don't have internet - and I'm all for avoiding those, but those times when I can't, I really want to be able to listen to music! At least the note 3 has a microSD card slot, so you can store lots of music on a 64GB micro SD card.
I just put all my music onto a MicroSD card and pointed Music Folder Player at it. I don't know if this will work on an iTunes library though.

I don't think anyone said this already... You can't flash roms on an AT&T note3, the bootloader is locked. All we can do is root the stock rom (until someone comes up with a bootloader exploit). But you can do a lot with "just" root.
As for samsung apps being useful, probably all you want is the S-Pen related ones.
If you use the Email app (not just GMail), do not disable MyMagazine, however annoying it is; it breaks the basic email app if you do.
The apps with the circle and arrow are shortcuts to download the apps. I just checked on a few of mine, though, and they look to be free. It looks like Samsung had the courtesy not to install all of the bloatware they wanted to? Or maybe they have to pay royalties based on how many people actually install it...? (at least some of them are not samsung products)

Thats very true, but theres also no music manager for android either. Okay well, i'll give you winamp, but honestly, i hate the look of winamp, and most of the themes/skins for it are also terrible. I tried googling for themes for the android app, and I couldnt even find any (then again, i didnt look too hard. just a simple google search).
say what you want, iTunes is a pretty good music manager for those who like to manage their music, but arnt anal about tagging. Ive found that using iSyncr and PlayerPro together have been a great substitution for the same experience as on an iPhone. Except that you CANT SET PlayerPro as your default music app. Apparently people have had issues with the same thing, and theres just no solution on how to set PlayerPro as your default app. I might try finding another music app soon if I cant figure it out, since I play my music through bluetooth in my car, and if I cant choose the songs through my cars system, theres no point.
What do you mean change songs through your car's system? Is it really too much trouble to pick up your phone and press the skip button on whatever music player is running.
And what do you mean by "default music app"? If you want to run something different than what you have, just put that icon on your home screen and open it instead.
I don't know why former iOS sheep have to make things so complicated, like" how do I get this to look/act/do the same as my iPhone "? Something sent you this side of the Isle, just embrace android for a few day whilst you learn the basics of the platform and your device.

Were you able to select the music before on your iPhone through Bluetooth? Because I would love to find what ever head unit/car you have, because my wife would love that. Only place I've ever seen seen that is if you plug in the iPhone, never though Bluetooth.
