Ok rooted my vzw tab, but adb won't push files to get recovery installed. Anyone know why it just sits there after I ( adb push flash_image /data/local/bin/flash_image )? I do have the EC02 update.

Download the android SDK, use adb shell to remount system by hand and exchanges the files you want by hand.
If something doesn't work then you can tell us what the error read and we can provide further help.
Info on adb shell is available through forum search or google .

Sorry Im searching now for 2h and couldnt find any way to get this working.
I downloaded the sdk but Im not able to connect to the phone...
Im dont know how to find the right tutorial, I need one to setup my ADB and connect to the phone and afterwords to remount the system...
I would suggest using Root Explorer, which allows you to remount directories as R/W.

Best buy EVER! THANKs
OK, sounds like the most stupid question ever, but is there a way to remove the google android market from the vegan 5.1 build? I've tried the obvious (i.e uninstall through app manager) but it's greyed out.
I know most people are desperate to get the market app on and working, but I need it removed
Any ideas...? Thanks
Can't see why but...
From pc
adb remount
adb rm /system/app/Vending.apk
adb reboot
Or in shell
#su
#cd /system/data
#rm Vending.apk
#reboot

hey
i am maybe the bigest noob in developing in android. but where do i put those commands on my pc?
Easiest way to do it is to download a root browser from the market or sideload it. Open root browser. Go ti root. System. Data. Apps. Delete vending.apk.

Yes, you will need to be rooted to remove System apps.
So here its what is happening I run the following commands adb pull /system/framework/lge_res.apk file pulls fine I replace the files I want replaced not really sure if I am editing the right folder out not more just trying to see what changes specifically I am trying to change my voice mail icon ok that goes fine so I run adb push lge_res.apk /system/framework goes through fine however after I reboot I lose all my contacts which is fine I can restore them just wondering why when I pull then push I am losing them.

Alright, easiest way is to download RevoBatteryMod.zip. Once downloaded open the zip file. Open system file, then framework file. There should be a framework-res.apk in there. Replace it with yours. Back out and rezip if you extracted (you don't have to though, you can just open it) Flash the new zip and ignore what it says through cwm. It will install it for you.
Thank you sir worked like magic!
Now I can finely get around to paying the mortgage

Btw it did let me adb push in recovery using the adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk out just didn't take the changes I made because of being read only I guess I don't see why I can't adb remount to get rw though I tried that in recovery also and still got the same error any thoughts on why I can't get the system to remount?

IIRC, zips can only be installed from CWM or TWRP which is installed from Fastboot. I've never seen a Superuser7.apk file by itself that's installed from ADB.
As the title says ADB won't work on this mac, when I look at adb devices nothing comes up. I've tried to reinstall SDK and it resulted in it not even working. I've changed adb_usb.ini in order for it to work and that didn't work. I have ADB on, on my tablet and everything is in place but no results.

My Kindle Fire HD is rooted.
Was it ever working? Because the link I gave you is for root, but it also tells you how to connect adb on a mac.

It only worked on Ubuntu but my laptop broke so I'm left with a mac. I'll try the link you gave me.
[Edit]
I doesn't work and no commands are working anymore.
It's giving me either -bash: ./adb: No such file or directory
or whatever else. Everything isn't working at all.

lol, you have to 'cd' to the directory that adb is in. :silly:

I'm not that much of a noob, I did cd into the directory. I've just come to the conclusion that the Mac has a problem.

Then you may want to check again, because "-bash: ./adb: No such file or directory" quite clearly means that the filename "adb" was not in the current directory (./) from which you ran the command. There's simply no other way to interpret it.
