IIRC, zips can only be installed from CWM or TWRP which is installed from Fastboot. I've never seen a Superuser7.apk file by itself that's installed from ADB.

Ok rooted my vzw tab, but adb won't push files to get recovery installed. Anyone know why it just sits there after I ( adb push flash_image /data/local/bin/flash_image )? I do have the EC02 update.

Ok maybe my androidsdk is out dated? Seems as though I have no folder called bin either.

So here its what is happening I run the following commands adb pull /system/framework/lge_res.apk file pulls fine I replace the files I want replaced not really sure if I am editing the right folder out not more just trying to see what changes specifically I am trying to change my voice mail icon ok that goes fine so I run adb push lge_res.apk /system/framework goes through fine however after I reboot I lose all my contacts which is fine I can restore them just wondering why when I pull then push I am losing them.

Alright, easiest way is to download RevoBatteryMod.zip. Once downloaded open the zip file. Open system file, then framework file. There should be a framework-res.apk in there. Replace it with yours. Back out and rezip if you extracted (you don't have to though, you can just open it) Flash the new zip and ignore what it says through cwm. It will install it for you.
Thank you sir worked like magic!
Now I can finely get around to paying the mortgage

Btw it did let me adb push in recovery using the adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk out just didn't take the changes I made because of being read only I guess I don't see why I can't adb remount to get rw though I tried that in recovery also and still got the same error any thoughts on why I can't get the system to remount?

As the title says ADB won't work on this mac, when I look at adb devices nothing comes up. I've tried to reinstall SDK and it resulted in it not even working. I've changed adb_usb.ini in order for it to work and that didn't work. I have ADB on, on my tablet and everything is in place but no results.

My Kindle Fire HD is rooted.
Was it ever working? Because the link I gave you is for root, but it also tells you how to connect adb on a mac.

It only worked on Ubuntu but my laptop broke so I'm left with a mac. I'll try the link you gave me.
[Edit]
I doesn't work and no commands are working anymore.
It's giving me either -bash: ./adb: No such file or directory
or whatever else. Everything isn't working at all.

lol, you have to 'cd' to the directory that adb is in. :silly:

I'm not that much of a noob, I did cd into the directory. I've just come to the conclusion that the Mac has a problem.

Then you may want to check again, because "-bash: ./adb: No such file or directory" quite clearly means that the filename "adb" was not in the current directory (./) from which you ran the command. There's simply no other way to interpret it.
Here is my dilemma: I can't download any files successfully, no matter what browser I use no matter the size no matter the file type. I have to use download manager from the market and change the download path. It's not rom specific had this since I rooted back during launch. I just dealt with it but can't any more please help!! Maybe my permissions are set wrong or I renamed storage.
/storage/sdcard0
That path shows under file explorer but not twrp so I have path
/storage/sdcard0/0 that twrp reads
Rooted, s-off, latest firmware

Yeah nothing seems to work I have root access for sure, but can't download files unless I use a market app and under twrp the 1st path I posted doesn't show but the 2nd does

i need help getting my root back. i've updated to 4.3 but in the process all my pictures/music/personal stuff is gone. in the storage section it's saying that 27gb is still being used so i'm assuming the data is still there but i can't do anything until i get my root back. i've tried to flash a custom recovery through fastboot but i'm getting a reported max download size error. can anyone help out?
I'm new to HTC one, but maybe structure of 4.3 differ from 4.1.
So connect phone to computer, copy all files and search folder/files there.

Sounds like you have been flashing a lot of 4.2.2 roms so you may have a bunch of /0/0/0 folders that could be why you have so little space left

I haven't flashed any roms on this phone. I've been stock since day one. I want to try some data recovery software but I need root to utilize it. I can't get root until I install recovery but I can't do that because I keep getting an error.

well thanks to this fine user i found all of my missing data. i have another quick question however...
i noticed in data/media (which is where all my lost data was located) there is a 0 folder that houses the current contents of the "sdcard". i noticed that /sdcard and data/media/0 are linked together but i'm not sure which is the emulated folder and which is the proper folder. basically what i'm trying to do is restore the contents of the data/media folder to it's proper location. i read that the "0" folder is created for a second user? if that's the case if i move the contents of the "0" folder to the the data/media folder would the "sdcard" folder reflect those changes or would i have to move data/media to "0" instead?
