Hey guys,
I've noticed that my phone's Loudspeaker stays on and does not turn off (it makes a quiet shshshshshsh sound) as usual after 2 or 3 seconds after playing a sound it should turn off. but it doesnt.
This happens randomly, and i cant find exactly when it happens, and i have to soft reset the phone to make it right.
it uses a lot of battery power. when i feel that the phone eats up battery, i put the phone near my ear and there is shshshshshsh noise.
but after soft reset, it has great battery life.
any reason?!!
I just noticed this sound today! it is weird! wth is up with it? is htc aware?

So this is not my phone's problem only. I think the os causes the problem.
I've found that this happens after receiving SMS, if i'm in sms page (where i type message) and screen is turned off.
(in the sms page it playes a ding sound instead of sms tone. but sometimes when screen is turned off, it plays both 'Ding' and sms tone. in this case loudspeaker stays on with a noise, and eats up battery)
It should happen with every WP, so dont be worried.

same speaker problem with my HD7 !
any solution ? i don't think other phones have same issue. most probably it is HD7 bug.

hi guys, wondering if you all have this problem too... my diamond will keep beeping during phone calls as if it is giving a low battery indication... but the battery is at 50% and above when i have this issue...
Hmmm nope cant say i have that problem with my phone...ive just checked through my settings to see if theres some sort of call timer...as on some phones you have that ie it beeps every min to let you know that you have been on the phone for such and such a time.
Is it every phone call you make that you get that beeping sound??. Have you tried a soft reset or hard reset?..could be a problem with your carrier as well...try ringing them up and see what they say.

it might be because the screen it not turned of and y are pressing with yr ear/face the keypad???? disable keypad sounds and try again.
So when I'm talking on the phone and a text message comes in, it vibrates and blasts me in my ear. I love the notifications, just not when I'm talking on the phone. I consistently have to pull the phone away from my ear when this happens. You don't realize how intense the vibration is until it's in your ear.
Is there a way to disable the notification (or at least mute it) while my face is up to the phone??
Subscribing. I also am not a fan of this behavior. Need the person to repeat what they just said because I pulled the phone away while phone was vibrating. Very unprofessional. For now, I'm just turning off vibrate option in messaging and email settings. This phone should be smarter (and less laggy) right out of the box.

Yeah it's definitely annoying, but I did the same and just turned off vibration for most alerts.
Well, to be fair, it was almost kinda worse on the iPhone 3GS that I just came from. Any calls you have come in on call waiting and stuff are heard right through the line to the other person on the phone with you... and if you are on the phone with another person that also has a 3gs (as was often the case with me), neither of you knew which was getting the incoming call unless you pulled the phone away to check. Both lines heard it plain and clear.

Hey guys,
This issue has been plaguing me on and off, depending on which ROM I'm presently running (Jackos ATM, Cell Pro, Energy, X-Sense, and T-Mobile stock as well).
The 'end' key will make an annoying beep sound whenever pressed, even while locked, whenever the phone is not on silent. If something is in my pocket with my phone and I have my hands full, I have to hear this annoying beep sound every time I move; it's maddening.
Besides keeping my phone in silent mode all the time, has anyone come up with a solution?

Fortunately for you, you can deactivate the sound:-
Go to Settings>Personal>Phone> Change Keypad under the first tab to Off instead of Short tones.
However this will deactivate the sound of the keypad in case you care.
Ok this is the problem that i have with my XP1. When i enable my device everything is ok. After some hours any alerts sounds stop and that means message sound, call sound, alarm sound, etc. this is a bit annoying cause i have many calls and i can't hear them because sound dont work, even the volume is max. But there is a strange thing that i notice. when i put a song to hear (like mp3) for the first 3-5 seconds sound still is off and then i monitor shows that i miss signal (like signal reboot) and the sound is ok again. i have an Energy rom and before i flash it i always task29 my device.
so my question: if there is any one facing the same problem and if anyone can help me to solve this before my XP1 be in pieces.
It looks like the problem which I had with my first X1.

Unfortunately, I had no solution but exchanging the device.

Hi there,
Not sure if my phone is a dud - has anyone experienced the V40's boombox speaker suddenly not working or else very quiet? I've tried to adjust the volume controls, but it either seems normal, or else it even seems like it's in a call (it says "call volume" when adjusting the volume rocker switches sometimes, even though I'm not in a call). The volume sliders are all full. The only cure is a reboot. But you can still hear screen taps and things too. It's sort of like a media playback issue, and it happens in other apps as well - like Youtube, WhatsApp, etc. It's not going to Bluetooth either...
I have done a factory reset and the problem crept back right away.
Thanks for any help.
Thx

I am facing a similar issue with "call volume" showing up when headset is connected (even though am not on a call); This specifically happens if my V40 has been previously connected to a Bluetooth device which has a mic, and then has been disconnected from it. I have to restart my V40 everytime this happens as otherwise the audio is really inconsistent (it sounds cracked at lower volume, and tinny at higher volume).
When you say "the problem crept back right away", is it after some particular action (for instance connecting to some BT speaker or something?);
Also, did you try running it in safe mode (hold power button, press the "power off" icon in the screen, it should show an option to re-boot to safe mode), for me, it works on safe mode but the problem comes back even after a factory reset when i am in the normal screen.

Hi there, yeah, I can't exactly pinpoint when the problem crept back after the reset. I had been using Google Maps but I can't imagine how that would affect audio. The next time I used Google Maps, I couldn't here the navigation cues, and then I checked Youtube and "behold!"...the sound had got cut out again. Had to reboot. Would the phone be routing audio to some bluetooth channel or something, like my Samsung Gear S3? Why it would, I don't know. I do remember seeing the "in call" display once when this was happening which clearly is a different bug and not bluetooth related. I did try to connect to a bluetooth device, and then disconnect, and the problem has not resurfaced yet but I feel that I don't have much confidence in it at the moment.
I'll look into Safe mode; thx for the tip.

I know this has happened to me as well but I know what is causing it on my phone. Whenever taking a video call in Facebook messenger then my phone stays locked in the call volume also. Only way I have found is to restart the phone also. I am not using Bluetooth at all for the call either just the phone speaker so it's not a Bluetooth issue on my end. Having to restart the phone definitely sucks.

Well i found one more case - when doing a FTP through WiFi from PC (to transfer files); once FTP connection is closed (after transferring), and then if the earphones are plugged-in, phone says "call volume". Had to again restart. I was trying to find any app that can just refresh the UI/settings/system without doing a restart every time but haven't been successful. LG definitely need to fix it.
Thx for the replies, I have no clue as to why this problem is happening, but I've traded my phone for a new one in the 10-day purchase period and so far it is working correctly. Fingers crossed.
