Flash Gingerbread on network dependent tab? - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
Can anyone provide guidance on how to flash the latest official (or any other) ROM on a network dependent (vodafone - logo at startup, FROYO.BUJMC, 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1) ?
I've already bricked my tab one, using files from samfw :-(
Any help greatly appreciated.

A general question

Hi,
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S.
I don't know anything about Android.
Because it was a used phone when I bought, how can I know if it is rooted or not? Do I have to root/unroot to be able to update to Froyo?
It has no stricker on it or no logo on phone start of any gsm carrier.
I9000XXJF3 is the model.
Thanks from now..

You never have to root a phone to update it..
You are using a european SGS.
My suggestion is to install kies though, and update it, because JF3 is from June
When I go to Firmware Upgrade via Kies it writes:
Model Name: GT-I9000
Current Version : PDA:JF3 / PHONE:JF3
This device's version cannot be updated.
This means you have latest firmware

do you want to reflash froyo overcome? Or return your tab back to standard, any case, you should be safe if you do a Odin flash back to a rotohammer froyo, then the froyo rom of choice, just follow the overcome instructions but switch the roms for what I said
swyped from a galaxy far far away...
i wanna make my galaxy tab back to normal, just like a freshly baked cake out from the box. can you tell me what firmware do i need to use? im using asia Galaxy Tab. cause im not the expert, this OverCome rom my uncle helped me to do it now hes away, i cant undo it =(
based on the firmwares found on samfirmware, there are different stock asian firmwares available. there is an Indian version (P1000DD), south east asian version (P1000DX), Hong Kong version (P1000ZH) and Taiwan version (P1000ZT).
i myself keep 2 froyo firmwares to go back to:
P1000DXJK2 - which was the firmware that came with my tab when i bought it sometime in december.
P1000DXKM3 - which was posted sometime in february/march that i got from a thai forum.
Singapore galaxy tab should be south east asian right?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
yup. SouthEast Asian Firmware is for you, same as mine.
you could check my other post related to this matter.

you could try powering down your tab first.
then try entering recovery mode (done by pressing volume up + power button).
wipe your cache and then afterwards restore to factory settings.

Hi I'm a noob myself but I assume you can just follow the overcome guide to go back to stock?... basically, go into download mode And flash "overcome stock froyo safe" using Odin. I may well be missing something but wehenever I mess up and my tab won't boot, I just re-flash...
This is my first attempt at offerring help to anyone here, if i'm wrong please tell me! (Nicely!)

I called samsung south africa this afternoon, they provided me with the following for my device in south africa.
Model Number: GT-P1000
Firmware Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: P1000XXJMA
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build Number: FROYO.XWJMI
I found it on samfirmware and flashed it using Odin etc.
Now im running the stock rom I initially had.
I have connected device to PC with Samsung Kies, it now tells me that my current version is the latest version. So this means the update for Gingerbread 2.3.3 is still not available in South Africa.
I will go back to Overcome Kratos which was running quite fine thanks
Thanks everyone for your input and advice

P1000VNZ (Vodafone New Zealand)

Hi all, here's what Kies says my device is:
P1000BUJJ2 / P1000VNZJJ2 / P1000BUJI3 / P1000BUJJ2 (VNZ)
I can't find anything online related to this device.
It is stuck at Froyo and Kies tells me my device "does not support software upgrading via Kies".
I'd like to upgrade to Gingerbread if possible so that Skype video calling works properly again.
All the instructions I have seen so far relating to this device involve having Gingerbread installed before proceeding.
What is my best course of action to get Gingerbread running on this machine? Is it possible?
Thanks very much in advance

Hmmm. I have the latest version, 2.3.3
I think it's a one off made just for NZ.
Its there a generic version of gingerbread I can use? Maybe a UK ROM I can try...
What are my chances of flashing that on using Odin?

Try overcome gb stock safe v5 package.
It is an Italian JQ1 but of course has European languages, English included.
Chance of success using odin. , I say 99.99%

Follow the picture step by step, at page 7 for the Odin. No need other pages if you are not interest in custom rom.

Just download the GB-stock-safe-v5

[Q] Help to update firmware for my gt-p1000

Hello, I have been reading for a long time now on threads all over this forum and there is simply too much for me to take in. So I thought maybe I could ask for help and one of you clever people could help me.
I would like to update the firmware on my tesco samsung tab gt-p1000 wifi and 3g to anything 4.+ oh and suitable for the uk. I'd like to still be able to make calls, use gps text and wifi general stuff. If some one in the know could suggest all the downloads I would need and point me towards a guide that suits those I would be very greatfull. p.s I think the tablet has been messed about with before as it has no serial number but I don't know.
Please don't just post ''read this thread'' I'm asking for some one how knows this information and just say ''use the modem LINK, this rom LINK, this software LINK and follow this guide LINK or similar.
From my research there are other people looking for the same build. If there is already one out there. link me up please.
I maybe looking for a complete odin build !
currently firmware is 2.2, baseband version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1 , FROYO.XWJJ3
There won't be an odin build of any custom rom for p1000

Thanks for letting me know that.
So how will I do it?
You can follow my signature to overcome method.
Your have froyo, so you must root your ROM to enable you to check if you have protected bootloader.
And if you do, then to patch it.
Gingerbread doesn't have such issue.
But all that is in overcome PDF guide.
Once you have overcome kernel, it gave you cwm recovery.
With that you flash custom ROM.
