is that a yes??
yes, you can
Many ways to do it... I've used Darky's, Ultimate and a few others... settled on Doc&Stef's RomKitchen as they use stable components and the process is very easy to use and well documented.

I am sorry, this might sound noobish but, is there a way to get a stock gingerbread on GT-i9000M by Bell. I do not wish to install any roms, i just want the stock version of gingerbread. is there a way ?
the rom released for gingerbread is still beta version but you can download it at samfirmware.com and flash it by odin the latest is XWJVB 2.3.3
ohh thank you, is the beta stable enough to use it as a day to day phone ?

Thank you so very much for the " overcome " link - I accidently soft bricked my GT-P1000 and after days of searching the web for a solution I found this post .... and I've just finished downloading and installing - and YES my TAB is alive again !!!!!!

But I do not like the overcome rom as many things do not work and I'm used to my old one ...... so my question is can I re-install my old Gingerbread - using your [stock rom][2.3.3] p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjpz ?
And then use your [11.05.2011][CF-Root v3.3] JJ*, JM*, KA*, JQ1 - su+busybox+CWM3/RFS to root ..... as I did before ??
Hope I make sense and that someone can advise me ..... soon !! Thanx
May I know what are the many things that do not work in Overcome 4.1?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA
Thank you Priyana
Hi Priyana, thank you for your reply. Please do not get me wrong, I'm eternally grateful to the Overcome team for helping me to bring my tab " back to life " and have thanked them on their forum for this. The problem lies mainly with me - I was so used to and very happy with my 'old' look Gingerbread and not used to the 'new' look Overcome which made me confused. But I was so happy to have my tab back - so I decided to give it a go - the 1st app I loaded was Chrome to Phone (which I use all the time) and it did not work at all ; the 2nd app was Google Earth ( which I also use on a daily basis) and it was extremely poor performance compared to before ; and the final thing was that I had backed-up all my data with CWM before I ' soft bricked' my tab and when I wanted to restore the file could not be found. So therefore the main reasons for wanting to return to my 'old' Gingerbread firmware - again I stress nothing but extreme thanks to the Overcome team for their help !
Thank you Chainfire
