Sip app for ring central - HD2 Android Themes and Apps

I have got sipdroid working and acrobits working with ring central but both have poor audio (no low end in audio). Acrobits has uLaw and aLaw which RC supports but audio is still poor and has a skipping effect in the audio. Sipdroid has older codex that give same audio quality but without the skipping effect. Better of the two.
Does anyone have an idea of how to deal with this problem or has another app that may work?

I was wondering if you had good quality audio. If so what do you have the clock rate set at, and what order is the codex in yours.
Thanks

I have my rate set to 44.1 ans the codex set speex 32 then 16 the g711

i was trying to do it but i am getting registration timeout.
thanks.

how did you make it to work with ringcentral?

[Q] DSP manager on other roms

one of the features i like the most in cm7 is DSP manager app. does someone knows a way how i could get it on other roms, or is there an app that provides the same settings?
Just copy /system/app/dspmanager.apk and /system/lib/soundfx/libcyanogendsp.so from CM and paste both at same path in new rom. I use it that way and it does work

I installed DSP Manager comes from CM7, and the dynamic range compression doesent work. Everything else works great...
My tracks sounds very good with dynamic range compression on CM7. Actually what is it doing? And how?
Nice bump

BUMP!, one of the features that keeps me in CM7 instead stock based roms... Stock based have alarm/stopwatch/timer/ in one place, divx official support and HDMI auto/1080p/720p/480p/etc... + I love colorized android settings
Any suggestion how to import these features (including full DPS with dynamic range that makes music sound awesome) that whould be great indeed.
any apk available?

I'm also trying to get dynamic range compression to work for DSP manager. I installed the .apk from CM7 on my Samsung Galaxy player YP-G70 running Gingerbread 2.3.5 and all DSP features work except Dynamic Range compression. Does anyone know if it needs to be flashed as a ROM to make it work? My device is rooted, however there is no support for it for CM7 yet. I get no responses to this question when I post on the Cyanogen forums, most likely because my Samsung device isn't supported and I'm being ignored.
Yes, yes I know, everybody hates Dynamic range compression, "It's destroying music" blah! blah! blah! But there are many times when it's needed, especially on small devices like android phones and PMP's. Listening to music, movies and video clips on these devices in noisy environments, or on small speakers can be difficult to hear the quieter passages of the content. then of course when the loud parts come in, they blast the speakers or headphones with distortion. I cant believe there aren't any Android apps out there to address this situation. Anybody know of one that maybe isn't on the android marketplace?
May be,
DRC feature of DSPManager is framework integrated. Check CM Vs stock ROM's framework

I tried it on the CM7 firmware and it didn't work any better than when I hacked it into the stock firmware. Specifically DRC, the rest worked fine except for the EQ which crashes (FC) on the stock firmware. Not sure why.

[Q] USB Microphone - High pitched sound

Hi,
I have read a lot about the possibility to have audio in on the Nook Color, and most of the posts were not particularly optimistic in this ever becoming real. Anyway yesterday I have purchased a micro USB to female USB adapter and have been playing with USB host, so I tried to connect my Logitech QuickCam to a USB hub and the hub to the Nook. I was very surprised to see that, although the video doesn't work, audio kind of does. I was able to use Google Voice Search and give commands that were recognized and performed the intended actions, so I tried the next step that is to use Skype to make a phone call. Unfortunately Skype recognizes the microphone but the voice that is transmitted is very high pitched and accelerated, something like a chipmunk on helium!
What is even more interesting is that the audio I could hear from the receiving PC was high-pitched, but Skype sent also my voice to the Nook speakers, and this was fine: normal pitch and speed.
I have also tried to download a couple of audio recording applications from the store but they all got the high-pitched sound. Same story for Dolphin Sonar, commands are not recognized, I assume because of the very distorted sound.
So, just to recap:
- The USB microphone of the Logitech QuickCam is recognized (I had to put a hub between it and the Nook though)
- Google Voice Search Works fine
- Skype and other recording apps pick the sound, but it is high-pitched and accelerated. Skype however returns a normal pitched voice over the internal Nook speaker, with a very slight delay (maybe less than half a second).
Now the question: Is there a way to tweak the configuration of the microphone? Something like changing the bit rate? Is there an audio library I can upgrade, to see if the issue goes away? Do you think it is worth trying to upgrade to the latest available nightly?
If this problem is solved we could have a functional Skype.
I am currently running CyanogenMod 7.2.0 (Android version 2.3.7, kernel version 2.6.32.9), build date June 15th 2012, build number GWK74.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Use Terminal Emulator, type su to get # prompt and then type the command shown below:
# cat /proc/asound/card1/stream0
What is the capture rate shown under input?
If it is listed as continuous, it will work. If not, it only might work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21714449
Look under the audio input section and look at the links. That's about all I've figured out. The "USB audio tester root" app in the market works.

Thank you for the info j8048188.
This is the full content of /proc/asound/card1/stream0
USB Device 0x46d:0x9c1 at usb-musb_hdrc-1.2, full speed : USB Audio
Capture:
Status: Stop
Interface 3
Altset 3
Format: S16_LE
Channels: 1
Endpoint: 6 IN (ASYNC)
Rates: 16000
So, as far as I can see, there is not section Input and no Capture Rate parameter.
Maybe I have an older version of this file?
I'll also have a look at the thread you have indicated, to see if I can find something useful.

That bottom line is the capture rate. I'll check the rates that my USB card supports and post back.
Edit:
My card reports back the following:
# cat /proc/asound/card1/stream0
Generic USB Audio Device at usb-musb_hdrc-1.1, full speed : USB Audio
Playback:
Status: Running
Interface = 1
Altset = 1
URBs = 3 [ 7 8 8 ]
Packet Size = 200
Momentary freq = 44100 Hz (0x2c.199a)
Interface 1
Altset 1
Format: S16_LE
Channels: 2
Endpoint: 1 OUT (ADAPTIVE)
Rates: 48000, 44100
Capture:
Status: Stop
Interface 2
Altset 1
Format: S16_LE
Channels: 1
Endpoint: 2 IN (ASYNC)
Rates: 48000, 44100
These bottom 2 numbers are my capture rates. I haven't tried any live audio apps yet (Skype, chat, etc) but I can record with a voice recorder app from the market. When I use the built in recorder if I record for 3 seconds it plays back over 15 to 18 seconds. That is a rate mismatch error.

Apparently you have a problem that is opposite to mine: when I use a voice recorder the audio being captured is highly accelerated (maybe 5x), while yours is slowed down.
I thought I could play a bit with that config file, but I realized that it is being created when the USB mic is attached to the Nook, and destroyed when it is unplugged, and beside that, I could not modify it using a text editor or nano from Terminal, even if I had superuser privileges and I had chmod 777 it.
Do you know if there are other config files we can play with?
(or how to modify that file, although temporarily?)
Thank you

There was a modified alsa.omap3.so file that Verygreen modified to work with with one of the capture rates that my card supports. Can't find it for download any more.
Some work had been done on the nook simple touch to enable USB Mic input as well. You might want to check that out if you want to dabble in development. ( I won't have a computer to do so until the middle of September.)

Unfortunately that file was on a server that does not exist anymore. I found another alsa.omap3.so out there and I wanted to give it a try, but I could not overwrite the current one, since it says that the file system is read-only. Maybe I am missing something, is there a way to make it writable?
Sorry for the very noob question.
Ste
Be really careful that the file is for the nook color and not some other device or build. Use vanilla CM7.2, not another modded version. Use es file explorer. In settings, use the root enhancement and also mount system as writable.
Be very careful, changing system files with unknown files can brick your nook!

I tried to retrieve another version of alsa.omap3.so, but could not find anything. Unfortunately Verygreen's version is no longer available, and the vanilla 7.2 version does not help too much. I then decided to buy the Syba USB2.0 7.1CH Sound Adapter, which was listed in the link you provided me with a while ago, and it arrived yesterday: I was surprised to see that it works; audio is not the best but is enough for a Skype call, which is somewhat surprising to me if you consider that this device costs only $3.10 (free shipping) on Amazon.com. Interesting enough this one works with the USB tester app, and shows speeds of 48000 and 44100.

[Q] Low custom notification sound

Hello,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 with a stock rom with Hebrew menus (didn't come with the phone, I flashed it but it's basically stock with Hebrew menus). I'm trying to use a custom mp3 notification sound. I used Ringdroid to cut the song and make it available on the notifications menu, and it sounds fine on Ringdroid and when playing the sound file itself, but when I actually set it as the notification sound, the sound is very low. I searched around and seen some people complaining about it but no actual answer, so I was hoping someone here can help.
Thanks, Ohad.
Yeah I used to have the same problem.. nothing can be done for that. You have to root your device and flash a patch for dsp manager if it doesnot work you have option but to flash a rom like cyanogenmod 7 it has a fantastic sound quality..

Thank you for the answer. I've flashed the DSP manager app now, it seems a little better. Are there any suggested preferences to use with it?
Thanks, Ohad.
Well that purely depends on you you can set to your own taste well for the phone speakers you can enable bass boost and set the equalizer to acoustic and for your earphone settings just use acoustic only and enable virtual room and set it to studio. These are the settings I use rest depends on you and your needs.. and FYI these screenshots are just for earphones..

[Q] Does HTC One support Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3+ ?

Hi,
I don't have the phone, so I don't know for sure, but I have two pieces of evidence:
You can find a video showing bluetooth streaming in a car, which has track information. I can't post links, because I'm a new user, but search youtube for 'HTC One Bluetooth Music Streaming in the Car'.
There is also a bluetooth certification for the Verizon version of the HTC One: google 'softpedia verizon bluetooth htc one'.
So I think it supports Bluetooth 4.0 with AVRCP 1.3.
Cheers,
Will
I ended up purchasing the HTC One and I can confirm that it supports AVRCP 1.3 but not all applications properly send out the metadata. For example, Google Music works great and I see track and artist, but DoggCatcher doesn't show podcast name or anything like that so it's very hit-and-miss.
If you want some more light reading, try the official listing of the Bluetooth specs for the device here:

Impressed with 4.3's AVRCP 1.3 functionality

I was very much impressed with Google's job getting AVRCP 1.3 implemented. Google Play Music sent all of the song metadata to my Entune deck, plus the track times and positions, which is more than the previous implementation some ROMs had. It took too long in my opinion, but at least they nailed it.
That's awesome... Got a picture of your audio deck?
Now I might have to upgrade my car stereo to support AVRCP!

I was excited about it too until I heard the audio quality. CM10 ruined me.

Ya, quality is still broken.
Been that way since 4.21 I think. I opened a new report with Google. Hopefully, it'll be fixed.

Can you tell if the phone streams contact names as well? so when I receive a call from a contact, I could actually see his name and not only the phone number?
I ended up reinstalling CM10.1, awaiting CM10.2. I can't live with all the little additions from that ROM
I'll see if I get time to install 4.3 again to take a pic of the deck. Contacts always worked, even in 4.2.2. I can tell my radio "call X", and my phone calls X. I'm not sure if it sent the name along with the number on incoming calls. I'm also curious if the contact's picture is also sent - it used to pre-broadcom bluetooth stack.
I actually listened closely for the crappy audio rate that was present before the ROMs fixed it, but I couldn't hear it. I did miss CM's equalizer though...
Audio quality is much better after I did this.

I've attached a picture of my car's stereo (Toyota Entune deck) with metadata working. Note that the album art isn't coming from my phone; the Entune deck has a library of album it ties to the artist and album data it receives via AVRCP.
I can confirm that it pulls call logs and my contacts list from my phone, and incoming calls present both the caller's name and phone number. Unfortunately, the caller's picture does not show.
Hope this helps!

AFAIK the Nexus 4 supports Bluetooth MAP -- can send/receive SMS and possibly EMails through Bluetooth.
I can confirm that even in 4.2.2 I received notifications that I had new email through my Entune deck, but I haven't seen notifications from text messages and I've never tried to use the radio to send anything.

I wish that my stereo would be able to show contact name during incoming call, as well as play the ringtone instead of annoying ringing tone. With my old iphone 4 that was the case. I could also navigate/scroll through my contacts using my car stereo. With N4 it's not possible.
