Considering getting a Optimus 2x - LG Optimus 2x

Hello
I'm considering to upgrade my Motorola Milestone to something faster and more reliable. I sleept over the other day, because of my phone had an error. I really like the specs of the Optimus 2x. But reading some some of the threads, it seems like there are problems with this phone. Did they ever find out if it was a hardware bug, or not. I'm refering to the restart/screen off bug.
And i'm going to use it for mp3 playback and web browsing. Do you think it will be a lot faster than my old Milestone, when browsing on a 2 mbit 3g connection. Also how is the soundquality from the mini jack output.
Thanks

never experienced that reboot issues.. and you can fix it somehow with new baseband and/or with another rom version. since many people report they've fixxed it i think it's fixable. or you dont expirie it at all like me

I also fixed it. Been a while since the last reboot or asking for pin. Just need the right baseband/ROM.

I havent face those probs ever, since day 1 i bought this fone..

i have been using 02X about 2 weeks..never face any reboot or bsod..mine is version 10b and still using stock rom

I think custom ROMs have more problems than stock, on stock ROM i had no reboot or something like that, now im on cyanogen, and maybe about once per day it get lagged and i need to restart it with battery, but still its not so bad.

i've been using my 2x for 3weeks no reboots on stock or modaco

I too am monitoring this thread. I have a Nokia 5530 but it just isn't enough for me. I want a fast, nice, multitouch superphonewith a large screen that isn't very pricey and can run tons of apps and games. SGS II is also appealing but 600 € is TOO much. 500 € is just bearable.

I have been with my g2x for about a week..never experienced any problems ...seems a great phone ...fast and lite
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App

Had g2x for a week now. Only had bugs using custom roms. Stock 2.2 is fast and stable. Phone is awesome it is the only phone I have ever had that works as fast as me and isn't sluggish.
iPhone which I thought was cool now looks ancient now compared to g2x.

Thank you for your answers, so far.
What do think about the mp3 playback and web browsing?

Yeah that works^^ dude it is sure great but not the best choise for people who just want a out of the box almost perfect phone and without any knowledge in "modding" (you can learn that stuff easy tho If you want)since you should be able to edit some stuff or optimate settings at least to get a smooth working phone with fast gps locks etc. . So after some simple work done its just fun and realy fast just great

Haven't tried the mp3...but since it's the stock media player it should be great...but I watched and receded videos and the speakers are phenomenal...I really recommend this phone..
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App

I've had the 2X for about three weeks now. Having come from a Nexus One. Had maybe one restart from an app crashing. Bar that its been fantastic. Waiting on cyanogenmod to appear.
Browsing is fairly smooth. Vimeo HD can be played in browser without a hitch. MP3 listening is very good. Sounds very natural.
Hope that helped.

I‘ve my O2x already 1month , and it just really great! No hang no freeze .. just some leak screen at top of LCD but its nothing for me .. playin HD game is so smooth , play HD video so spectacular ! With some changing in system like root , oc , n RAM hack , it‘ll be the ultimate phone that you will own ... mp3 running well , and browsing run smooth .. hope will help you to compare
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App

If you can, wait till the end of the month and hopefully the software update will be out. Then you will be in a better position to decide. THis is of course assuming that you want the O2X.
I have had this phone for about 2 months now and while I had reboots initially, since the V10d update, I must have had a couple in over a month and a half.
I use Launcher Pro instead of the LG launcher, have rooted the phone and frozen Car Home and F Secure and installed CWM though I haven't changed the ROM (Waiting for the June update from LG)
The only thing I am unhappy with is the unreliability of the USB connection. Sometimes the phone connects to the computer perfectly. At other times it refuses to acknowledge a USB connection.
But if you're in a hurry and can't live with the bugs and uncertainty, then there are other good phones out there as well.

I will say the phone is good. I've had it for a month now and haven't had ANY of the issues reported by some users.
My phone is on stock rom 10b, rooted, clockwork recovery flashed, better camera mod flashed (and OMG it's good!), launcher pro installed, almost every LG app or process freezed since day one.
This phone is fast and awesome, BUT it was just announced that it won't be getting Gingerbread until at least autumn and my guess is that it won't have it at all
So if you can be satisfied with the phone as it is right now and not how it could be with android 2.3 go ahead it's a great device!
Cheers

I'm on cm7 mod and using opera for browsing and it's almost faster than my macbook

Thanks. Just won an auction on almost new LG Optimus 2x. I don't care that much about the 2.3 been delayed. At a point i thought it was the update with the bug fixes, that got postponed to autum.

Your experience with the new 2.2 update?

Hi guys, im coming from a Desire and thinking of switching to the SGS because of the better hardware. Can anyone share what it's like to use it everyday with the 2.2 update already? Is it still that buggy?
I've played around with the SGS 2.1 and it is indeed slow, laggy and somewhat frustrating. Should I expect otherwise?
What about removing touchwiz? Does that bring everything up to speed?
Thanks!
Personally I feel it is slower and even more bug ed than eclair.
Desire should be better in trends of user experience......
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Is it just as slow running bare bones android? I am expecting the Galaxy S to be the first to receive the nexus S port of gingerbread
i find 2.2 way better speed wise, than 2.1
no more lag on multi upgrade from market
I seriously don't know where this lag everyone is talking about coming from, I've had my Galaxy S for 2 months now and so far my phone has been very snappy, ever since the first day I bought it when it was still running 2.1 ... the Samsung Galaxy S is one snappy phone if you ask me! it certainly can stand on it's own against the iPhone 4, which is considered by many to be the smoothest phone out there... I certainly have NO regrets purchasing the Galaxy S
i switched from desire to SGS for the following reasons:
1) music player can play FLAC's
2) divx xvid support and support for many video codecs ( use to use rock player on desire but still it was unable to play some other h264 formats)
3) nice giant super amoled screen
4) light weight and looks are better than desire
The only reason that i miss my desire is :
it was fast ( yeah SGS is a bit laggy even with custom roms and kernels) and it had flash with its camera. ( but camera of SGS is better than desire)
shranav,
How about the capacitive touch buttons? Were they easy to use coming from the Desire? I've tried them with the 2.1 rom and they seemed way unresponsive with the vibrate only registering after 2 -3 secs.
So can I assume that the experience will never be as good as the one in my desire?
oh and does HTC IME work for the SGS?? This is the only keyboard I use because it's easy to add your own dictionary

Should be? Is this from experience of you're just talking out of your ass? Probably the latter. I've been using Doc rom with ext4 lagfix for the last 10 days and I have nothing but positive things to say about my SGS now. The phone is hella good with 2.2.

Same here, fantastic screen, light, good sound for phone...
Of course KIES stink, but there are plenty alternatives...
The only problem I had with 2.1 was that it forgot where the SD cards where too often, and I had to reboot to use access photos or music...
Upgraded to 2.2 and no more "memory" problems...
I bought this mobile a week back with 2.1... Two days back upgraded to froyo... Better than 2.1.. Lot of new options.. Google voice works well... Speed both versions almost same.... Kies sucks in 2.1...but improved with froyo..

I really don't know what the problem is for some people.
I have 2.1 and upgraded via Keis to 2.2
I was always in the habit of resetting (off and on again) my phone at least once a day. This is something I have done with all phones.
Now with the new Active Applications program in 2.2 I don't do this as much. I just close any programs using this.
I have never suffered lag on the SGS. The only problem I had was the inbuilt email software is really slow. This is not a big problem as I use the gmail software for all my mobile mail.

I feel the same. A couple weeks after getting my 9000M (with 2.1 JH2) I decided to try the OCLF (lag fix) and it made some things quicker or snappier, Android Market was noticeably faster. It made some things worse like menu transitions/animations were really choppy after the lag fix and I would get random short hangs every now and again. A couple weeks after applying the lag fix my phone would not boot (stuck on Galaxy S screen then black screen). Luckily the phone wasn't completely dead. I had to do a factory reset and have been running it stock since (probably 10 weeks now). I don't know that I am experience this lag that people talk about. It runs pretty smoothly.
2.2 and Voodoo and every is A-OK!

htc_ime works
if you go for it, i suggest a custom rom if you want a snappy phone
stock roms suffer from lag, especially when you install many apps
it is really easy to flash a custom rom (or even just a custom kernel)
sorry if its not right place to ask but
whats a diffrent between GT i9000 and Galaxy s i9000
mine says GT I9000

I've had 2 SGS so far.
First, had no 3 button menus, but was very quick, no lag. Was able to root and lag fix to improve speed further no bother
Second, my current one. HAS 3bm, but massive lag. Unable to root by normal methods (also hard to verify if phone was rooted) also unable to lag fix
Seems to correlate with what people are saying. You saying there is no lag, and others having no end of problems.
Personally, on this phone I've missed calls with the screen taking too long to change.
I should note that my first phone was network unlocked but this one is tied to Three ireland with their modifications etc to it :-(
They are one in the same.

Hey all, I updated to 2.2 last night, and have been impressed since first reboot. I have applied oclf as well and the phone has not lagged once. I suggest you also look at the minfree settings in oclf, as the autokill defaults for the sgs are sub par. I found that minfree adjustment has also had a major impact on the performance of the phone. We need to remember that out of the factory (our fresh from factory firmware upgrade) these phone do not run at their best and they need to be tweaked to see full potential. Cheers. H

I read somewhere (could of been in xda) that enabling usb debugging helps with the lag issues. Don't know how that works but just throwing out there.

Should I get a Thrill?

I currently have an HTC HD7S but being a tech head, I'm getting bored.
Is it worth getting the Thrill or is its already dead in the custom rom area?
Not dead, but calm. In actuality, though, there's been a jumpstart in posting the last couple days and a few have been promising to me. Additionally, GB is now scheduled to be released the 27th for the optimus 3d which should give the thrill a custom gb rom in days by that point. I'm days away from my trade deadline, but I'm staying pretty devoted to the phone I've decided I love. Now if only we could get a stock browser without this damn toolbar at the bottom...

I just picked mine up last Friday. I'm coming off an Atrix, and so far I'm not looking back.
The screen is fantastic, the phone is smooth, and it doesn't seem to have some of the issues the Attic suffers from.
It was between this and the Galaxy S II, and I wanted the HDMI. Also, the Thrill felt better.
Besides gimmick or not, the 3D is cool.

Thanks for the opinions. A family member of my has it and I've had the pleasure of using it. But I'm pretty much set on getting it.
Also, I was reading yesterday the ICS source code is released. Any devs interested in that?
EDIT: Honeycomb is available as well
I was going to say I don't know if I had an upgrade right now if it would be the phone I'd pick. I'd more than likely get a Note. But I've come to really like this phone and wouldn't trade it unless a Thrill with a 4.5 inch screen, 16 gig storage, and ICS came out.
Of course, then it'd still be a Thrill

Hmmmm...I downloaded xScope pro when it was the Amazon free app of the day. But I have yet to use it as my browser. Guess it's time to give it a shot.
IMO, I wouldn't waste my time on the Thrill. I stuck it out for a while thinking that LG actually gave a crap about us, just to be let down. They have committed to a Gingerbread release on the 21st to the International version. No commitment at all to the Thrill other than maybe by the end of December or early January.
With the very slow development going on it, I decided I had enough and jumped to the SGS2 Skyrocket instead. Do I miss the 3D ability?.....Of course. But I gained LTE (when available in my area) and an 8MP camera instead with increased speed over the Thrill and a lot more dev potential (and is going on already).
I would have a hard time now recommending anyone to the Thrill that cares about overall speed and performance, let alone support from the manufacturer. If someone wants 3D and doesn't mind a luke warm device, then the Thrill may suit them fine.
Just my opinion. I had such high hopes for it when I bought it.

Seriously, some people forget it's a phone. Without fast development, it's still a damn good one for now, and with development, it'll be amazing in the future. How many MP my camera is, I couldn't care less. It's more about the size of the cmos sensor than the resolution, and the only phone I'll trade for when it's available, nexus of course, will have one nice 5mp cam. Samsung let me down for way too long with my craptivate, so I can wait a bit for GB again. As for the O3D version, that'll be close enough. Oh, by the time LTE reaches my house (and most), I'm sure I'll be eligable for another upgrade. Loving this phone, despite my few hates.

Ask yourself this question: Do I want ROM selection? The answer to the title of this thread is the opposite of your answer to that question.
If you don't flash ROMs, the Thrill is better than the Atrix or Atrix 2, its definately the best phone in the <$99 price range. But for a little more the GS II (i777 not skyrocket, the skyrocket will be only slightly less of a ghost town than here) is teasing you with so many ROM choices it will burn a hole in your SD card.

The funny thing is Ive got all the bugs worked out of my Thrill. The thing has ZERO issues for me. I cant think of a single reason not to recommend the Thrill. I could care less about a selection of Roms. Most are just re-themes of the same..exact..thing. All I need is one solid rom and Im golden. That was the thing I LOVED about my Aria. For the longest time there were only 2-3 roms available for it but they were all rock solid and offered everything you could get out of a rom. We had ONE kernel available to us, but it worked flawlessly, so we didnt need anymore kernels. Move along to the Captivate and while I had 200,000 roms to choose from none of them felt finished, half of them were the same rom I had just flashed with a different battery icon, and they all had issues. Even CM7 for the Captivate never felt as solid as it did on my Aria. I never ended up being happy with my Captivate even though it was the "superior "phone to my Aria.
The Thrill is a solid phone. It had a lot of issues upon release and a LOT of people didnt stick around because of that. Gingerbread is here, and from what ive been hearing its already made the Thrill into even more of a beast and its only a pre-release leak (unfortunately I dont have a Windows machine so I cant flash the baseband to even try it ). And with the ICS source released we will have ICS fairly quickly. Gingerbread was a tough port due to ZERO Omap4 devices running it (it wasnt just the Thrill) so we had to try to start from scratch, but the first ICS device has almost the exact CPU (higher clockspeed and better imaging capabilities) and the GPU IS the same. That alone will kickstart development of ICS as we can port ICS rather than try to build it from scratch.
But enough of my ranting Im going to sleep!

O noooo its about to be a cat fight ( Raaaaawwwwrrrrr ) lmao

hi, about to buy an optimus 2x, any suggestions?

just broke my galaxy s for the third time, so i think its time to move on. i have to decide to move to an optimus 2x, or an atrix. what u guys think? From what i saw, optimus have a better camera, what means a lot for me, lg have the best cellphone cameras imo. atrix have what it seens a little more speed and more space (16gb)
what do you guys suggest me?
I would not but a LG ever again. Imho Sony camera is much better.
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
sony camera is cool too, but locked bootloader and still no dual core phone (or am i late?)
o2x imo is better than the atrix, the atrix has more memory so if that's what your after then get that, i love the design and shape and size of my o2x and if it wasn't for the ****ty lg support and nvidia ****ing with us by holding back vital drivers needed for ICS dev then this phone would be the best iv ever had.
The camera is pretty great iv never seen the atrix camera so cant compare tho.
The benchmarks tests always seem to show the o2x to be ahead of the atrix even tho they both have a tegra 2 chipset.
But with the customs roms this phone is pretty decent, its fast responsive, get a custom home screen and it will be smooth as you can imagine, the lg home screen is rather choppy but i use it because i like the way you can organize apps and games into separate category rather than just throwing them together into a big mess if you can do that with adw or go launcher then someone please tell me how so i can switch.
I only paid £200 for my o2x brand new so i cant complain too much, defo worth it compared to the 400-500 they are asking for that overpriced crap called the sgs2, decent phone.... ****ty price tag, no phone is worth that much.
In Australia there are close to no people using Optimus 2xes due to no one selling them on plans/contracts. Every second person has a galaxy s2 though so they can't be that bad.
I would lean towards avoiding the atrix due to the locked bootloader. Apparently there's a 50% chance of bricking it.

It's quite possible that they sent RC what he needed, he's been asking them since day one, and is a serious coder, rather than the 'cook' type 'dev'.
I would say get one, the stock GB is apparently much improved over froyo, and CyanogenMod is just great, that's the reason I bought mine in the first place.
If I hadn't have managed to get a freebie, I'd keep mine.
For its money LG O2X is the best phone.
Please, don't buy that phone!
It's have the worst supported in the WORLD.
Nvidia and LG = S**T
I sell my phone, and Im really happy with that choice.
And I don't wanna see that phone again.
The best choice for you is the HTC, more beautiful and intuitive homescreen, custom roms, etc...
And forget about the Galaxy S2, this only good because the Super Amoled, and Camera, nothing more...

the htc high end smartphones not near as fast like the o2x or the sgs2, the hardware component quality is low, if htc not change that it will be died. maybe the rom is good but it just candy.. if you want a phone what is broken often go ahead and buy a htc. i had many htc, i never ever want again.
sgs2 it will be a good choice if isn't very overpriced. by the way the samsung company almost act like the apple, soon booth company will be in the android users blacklist. o2x is a good choice but the stock lg rom is a crap, you need to flash one of the custom roms!

sgs2 it will be a good choice if isn't very overpriced. by the way the samsung company almost act like the apple, soon booth company will be in the android users blacklist. o2x is a good choice but the stock lg rom is a crap, you need to flash one of the custom roms!

Insight on the Thrill

hey guys, I was hoping to get some help from some thrill users. I'm hoping I can get a little honesty here, I am doing research for a buddy on the thrill. I have checked out specs, and spec wise seems like a nice device. I just wanted some insight on state of this device, whether its a good purchase or not, i have found some nice deals on this device bare in mind im buying full price so i want to have a device that will have a little bit of longevity. here are some things i hope you guys can share some insight on:
reliability of device, hardware/software
development does it look good will there be ICS i didnt notice ics roms
any alarming things to know about the device before buying
known issues
i ask all this because the G2x for tmobile seems to be a nightmare, hoping this is a better device thanks for any help you guys can provide
I'm pretty happy with my Thrill, but I was disappointed in how long it took to get GB out for it. I'm not sure if we will ever see ICS. The camera is excellent, battery life is ok (I bought a 3500mAh battery and have to charge up nightly). The 3D is kind of a gimmick, but it does work well.
I found that it's much snappier with a custom ROM. I'm currently using Lestatious AcidHazard from the dev forum here. Both ADW and GoLauncher are much better than the default "LG Home" launcher.
Overall, not bad for my first Android phone. I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS and will never look back at Apple, but for my next one I may consider Samsung or HTC just because there seems to be a much larger developer community for their offerings.
Ill give you only my opinion based on my experience with this device. Can't speak for anyone else but I'm sure there might be some very diverse opinions about this device.
I feel the Thrill is the underdog in the current Gen of high powered devices. Kinda like if you perchased a low cost car because the price and function fit your needs. Then you discover it had a turbine engine that simply needed to be switched on and calibrated properly. Would be cool and fun although very unlikely. However the Thrill is often referred to as a sleeper. The hardwear is all there but the stock Rom is restrictive. With some patience and proper modification the Thrill is an awesome phone that can outperform many high priced phones and then some.
In most cases from what I have seen many people find a baseband they like, and a rom that works with the baseband, a few tweeks and bam nirvana. Currently the most common issues that I'm aware of are Ghost calls, Bluetooth instability and minor app bugs. We don't have a huge Dev team but the devs we got are darn good and have flat out showed us all what the Thrill is supposed to be.
If you have loaded any roms or rooted a phone then you will be capable of tweaking the Thrill as you like in about 1 day at the most. Do some further research on it first before you dive in so you are fully aware of what your getting in to.
Hope that helps
Its fast as ****. Its nice to the eyes, it sounds good while making calls for me at least.
What else do you need?

coming from the HTC sensation the 3d agreed is fun to play with but a gimic super fast and honestly if the right tweeks were given then the phone would be right behind the sgs2 easily if not keep up the LG 3d Max launcher is what I'm using but it is slower easy fix by getting a launcher from the market I recommend Adw or go launcher the dev work is amazing but slow and the optimus 3d is the exact same phone and is on the official list to receive ics according to popular results on Google but looking at things it'll be years end before we see official ics custom ROM will show up first and more than likely soon since the drop for LG phones supposedly is second and 3rd quarter once agin popular Google results reviled this for me over all I do not regret the switch and believe this phone Will peak at ics but will stay alive for probably another year to a year 1/2 stability is decent but be sure to update to gingerbread as the phone really seems to shine afterwards

Also regular battery on moderate use but with data monitor my battery lasts all day easily

While I'm here asking I hate to be such a noob guys but I don't know much about this phone wanna be careful not to brick it. From what I can understand I have to flash the gb update from LG before flashing gb roms correct? All I did was root the phone and installed a 2.2 Rom to get it going however I couldn't get data working its on a prepaid plan for 50 dollars a month everything else seems to be functioning ok. I wanna get all my ducks in a row for tomorrow when I get more time to get him updated to gb. Any roms that are recommended and or kernels. Cm7 or official update what's working better thanks for any help guys I'm not usually such a noob I'm just use to htcs with s off and such or Samsung's and Odin. LG is like a whole nother animal

Lg update tool worked fine no issues I recommend a stock 2.2 ROM before update then work from there you'll love this phone AFTER you update though to avoid future questions on why you have no signal use an optimus 3d ROM to avoid alot of issues good luck and enjoy

I actually love this phone. It is really fast and the battery life is decent. The camera takes awesome pics and videos. About a month ago I was almost fed up with the phone and the dev on it but after flashing the Mokee ROM I fell in love with the Thrill all over again. If I had to choose a phone right I would pry choose the Note over this but then again most people would.

Pretty much the same situation for me. Also upgraded from a 3GS and I think this phone is awesome and a great first android for me. For the most stability on gingerbread, in my opinion, would be v21e. I flashed the promethius rom and kernel on top of it and my thrill is amazing.

Worth it?

I just got my HTC one three days ago. Came from sensation which was good for me thanks to all the devs, roms and kernels available.
Now, this phone is a monster as it is. Is it really worth rooting and flashing roms? Stock seems to be pretty stable, and again this beast flies nonetheless.
Any input is appreciated.

Stock is really good now, unless you want to play really demanding games like NFSMW or Modern Combat 4 etc etc. HTC has set the CPU AND GPU to throttle at 40c which is ridiculously low. So if you hit these temps regularly, games would suddenly start stuttering and lagging till it goes below 40c. With a custom kernel you can tweak this, so personally that's the biggest advantage I have of going that route
Haha this is XDA man... Of course everyone is gonna say its worth it.
Personally I thought the same, stock sense is stable, smooth, and fast.
However I'm a bit of a flashaholic so I got bored within a couple weeks. And development is starting to get very very interesting. There's a ton of fantastic devs and nearly every major aosp ROM has popped up. Most of them are very stable and are getting better and better.
Its really up to you but my vote is to hold out a while, maybe until official 4.2.2 and if you get bored like I did, flash away!
Sent from my Paranoid One
Stock is very fast. I like being rooted however so I just flash ARHD when I want to have the stock look n feel
AOSP development is great, not quite DD for me yet but it's really close
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I'd stay stock. I have to admit I rooted mine and have regretted it ever since. Just doesn't feel the same even when I return to stock. The only thing good on custom roms is the settings toggles at the top of the notification bar, and it doesn't look like 4.2.2 Roms are going to have it anymore barring trickdroid.
Custom kernels introduce new issues like touch buttons not working properly and bugs and instability.
My phone was the most stable, fast and bug free when it was stock and I enjoyed it more when it was stock too. Can't go more than a day now without flashing something else to try and iron out each bug that comes up.
My vote is stay stock and enjoy your phone before it's too late.
As for cm and aosp, I can't see how they will survive much longer as stock Google loses a LOT of functionality and has awful stock apps including an awful camera app. Phones have moved past them now in my opinion and I can't see how they'll survive much longer unless they start getting access to the proper camera apps that come built into the phones.
not worth
In my opinion its not worth to root this phone. This is actually my first Android phone without root.
The stock ROM is smooth and great except enoying gallery app with Facebook photos but I can easly switch to another app without rooting.
I managed to run unrooted for three days, then I unlocked the bootloader, flashed a few roms (currently on InsertCoin and loving it) and just yesterday I S-OFF'd. Worth it.
If you don't use apps which need SU (AdFree, TitaniumBackup, RootExplorer,...) and you are happy with the stock ROM, it wouldn't be worth it.
PS: Still waiting for my black HTC One and I'm quite sure that rooting it is the first thing I do. (after charging and shortly exploring the phone)
I wasn't happy with stock at all, too stuttery and even basic games were very lagy (came from i9300 sgs3), rooted/flashed cm10.1 within a day of owning my one and haven't had ANY issues at all s-off'd using root explorer and terminal emulator just then in under a minute. Love being free and smooth lol

I think right now it's not worth it the phone is very fast and you will not need root especially if you have another rooted device.
I had the same question before.
DEVICES THAT I OWN : NEXUS 7 [ROOTED][STOCK ROM 4.2.2][MOTLEY KERNELC TO 1.6 GHZ]
XPERIA Z C6602 [NOT ROOTED]

You can never have too many rooted devices, period.
Thanks for all the opinions. For the first time with android phones (and it's been few) I think I'm going to refrain from rooting for a while at least

I would recommend getting s-off, unlocked and then flash Mikes stock odexed rooted ROM. You will have all the abilities of root (like backups and ad blockers) and then the speed and stability of stock
