Just investigating which one are you using for your Android phone.
I have tested Sygic which is nice but FC is high and Motonav which has good maps but UI is really bad...
So if you could help me to decide and tell me what is available for our andoid hd2 would be nice.
tnx
I use the Google Navigation, works quite good.
Only downside is that it doesn't show the speed.
I've also used Sygic Aura, but I didn't like it.

other downside is that it isn't offline navigation and uses phone data connection for maps.
I've tried it also but didn't tell you that i need "offline" maps too in the first post

I use also Google Navigation, and it is very simple and usefull.
I use Navigon at the moment, quite good but doesnt always take you the way you want to go, but all sat nav's suffer this. The trouble of knowing local roads I guesss
Im using sygic without any issue, but make sure you are using v.8.24 !
Hope it helps ;-)

If you plan your route at home, it will cache the maps needed,
so this way it works offline.
But I don't know for sure, and if you change your route, you will need a data connection.
While I was googling this, I found mapdroyd.com
seems to be Google Maps, the offline version (haven't tried myself)
I've tried most of them, but found iGo MyWay to be the best by far.
hi
I use the Google Navigation, works quite good.
any nevigation data for Pakistan ?
i use copilot, have modified the voice (italian) using funny sentences from public domain tomtom voices.. it works fine imho.

How did you get it on the HD2? Do you have to be running Sense?

Ah, I couldn't find it on the Market, and I was reading and thought it might be affiliated with HTC Sense or something.
Google maps will come with an offline version soon. http://www.androidworld.nl/84790/google-maps-navigatie-binnenkort-met-offline-kaarten/ (dutch link) This will save a lot in data traffic. I hope they add speed and speedcams to it as well.
The most usefull part of google maps for me is the very acurate traffic information, by far the best I've seen.
i use Aura sygic, it's the best GPS i've try on Android 2.3.3, can use it offline, just download maps before.
I have only used google navigator. I was most impressed by its ability to track my location and announce voice prompts when the screen is off, which saved a lot of the battery and the necessity to have a dash/windshield mount.
i use Copilot live. but i missed my iGo and tomtom on winmo
Try nDrive, it's ok, but I preffer Sygic

No it doesn't work, and there is no GPS option either. That option is not yet available to work on the device yet.
Awesome. Thanks....
Nice. Google navigator 4 allows you to use street view with gps also..
Yes, it does. This is FREE though and Navigator 4 costs $$$$$.
How is this better than the standard google maps application?
because you can view 360 degree street images. which is all explained in the first post.
I'll tell you right now. This app has already saved my butt. The 360 view totally helped me find what I was looking for. Oddly enough, it was a strangely inconspicuous bowling alley.
Works good on Treo 750.
haha this app is so cool..
ive just been sitting here traveling the country..
thanks for this.. good find.. works perfectly
Google Maps 2.2.0.20 RELEASED
doesnt have street view but the "transit" tab finally works with subway train routing, least in NYC! Goodbye HopStop.com
Neat, but not as user friendly to me. Lack of My Location and GPS definitely hurts. I'll wait for a a windows mobile version.
Does this not work with WiFi? i never use my phone network for internet. 95% of places i go have a wifi connection i can get.
its saying... "this application requires a data connection. please contact your carrier, or visit www.google.com/gmm/configure.html on your computer for more info"
any ideas?
If you want GPS, get the TOM TOM 7
me a newb
Hellow im a newb how do you install this?
http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/08/tethergps-brings-gps-navigation-to-nook-color-in-a-manner-of-sp/
The article above is for the nook, but there is nothing stopping us from enjoying the same benefits.
Forces closes on my tab....VEGAn 5.1
Sent from my Viewsonic 10" GTab...
We can always use something lik sharegps and use our bluetooth capability to tether our gps.
But the more options the better if it works on our tablet.
force close here as well on latest tnt-lite. i was hoping this would work so i wouldn't need to connect wifi tether and bluetooth
Yea Bluetooth is working great but would be super awesome to only use 1 app to tether GPS. TetherGPS is not able to connect properly my gtab says "not receiving location"
Hope this can get resolved soon
On vegan 1b5
Ive been using a app called "bluegps" found it from a thread here in the forums, works great with my avlabs gps. I use autopilot for my maps, but once you have tyhe gps tethered, it does not really matter what type of map u use. Just make sure you have "mock locations" enabled in bluegps and all works well.

How did you get CoPilot??
I'm trying to buy from the Market, but don't see it there. Can't tweak Market enough to be able to purchase...
Personally i see it, ive also heard of others on these forums who cant see things in the market can try to side load it, either buy it from a store or buy it from the market using an android phone and then side load it that way. Seems different market fixs and different roms seem to see different things on the market, try market enabler, saw a post for it here on the forums recently. I tried it and found it worked well. Also try the different market fixs.
Which is the best GPS nav app that will talk to you as you drive is the best one? I have a 3g Xoom and I'm look for this app to use while I go on vac. Copilot pro looks to be expensive but how well is it??
I have navigon.. however it crashes when I need it the most... Google Navigation is pretty stable and now I believe will work without 3g/wifi coverage.
Google navigation is pretty awesome. I travel frequently for work and it always gets me where i need to go. There is no choice in voice, but that's the only flaw i've found.
Yea its kinda hard to drive and try to catch glimps of were you are and were you need to turn while driving. Having a voice to also guide you is a awesome option.

uh, navigation DOES have voice...install talkback and soundback. There's a navigation volume, and a mute button in the settings for a reason.

Lol it sure does guess I had mine in mute all this time and never bothered to use the vol. Buttons while using the nav. Thanks
I use CoPilot Live on my Nexus One. Picked up the NA version for 9.99 Works decent but has some quirks.
Google Nav without a cell signal is tricky. (if you close app by accident, or need to reroute you're SOL)
Hello.

Have you tried "Here We Go"?

As far as I know it's free and pretty well established.

Can someone tell me how to make Here maps work on the Watch 3? I've downloaded and can see my location. What I can't seem to do is enter a destination location. Well, I can enter one, but nothing happens. Also, if I try to download a state map, I receive the error message saying I have no space, but I have 4 GB available on the watch.
Looks like Here needs an update for latest tizen/watch3
Not asking for the storage permision so can't download offline maps.
Am I the only one that can't see Here, either on the watch or the store?
Another fan of Here We Go maps!

So, it turns out that Australia doesn't get Here maps on the Watch3 by default
However, if you VPN your phone to the US, you can install it from there. Worked for me this morning. The app works fine once you turn the VPN off too.
Here we go pushed an update that made more faster and has offline capabilities.
Hello folks,
not being able to use Shazam still is a bummer for me.
Always the same thing:
install Shazam, grant it every possible right, works for 2-3 songs (doesn't matter if widget or normal Shazam icon), stops recognizing any song
I kind of adopted to an app called "beat find", which is way slower and has a smaller database but keeps working
Anyone having that Shazam problem too?

I can confirm that Shazam stops working once I close and relaunch it. Works fine on first launch as long as I don't close it. I'm also interested in a solution.

Thanks for the confirmation. I have the phone since December 22 and tried everything possible, only solution was switching to that "Beatfind" app

You mean with "close it" killing it from recents? Because I have tried different ways now but doesn't matter what i do it works.
Wasn't aware of the issue as I had only used it once on this device, so thank you for raising awareness. You may have better luck with SoundHound (aka Midomi). I've used this one a ton in the past. Unfortunately it does have adverts unless you buy ad-free for £5

Thx a lot. Just switched to SoundHound and it is working perfectly. The 5,x€ are worth it for me.
Just the widget is not a 1x1 small widget und I have found no way in the settings to automatically start the search for songs once I click on the app icon (widget does search instantly by clicking on it)
I also have problems with Shazam, to make it work again, I have to clear Data and Cache.
@kitzblitz yeah I don't really get why they couldn't include a 1x1 widget also. Anyway make sure to enable the 'startup' (not 'autostart') permission for Spotify if you want Spotify integration to work inside SoundHound.
@PILLS2389 yep that's the exact behaviour I'm seeing. SoundHound seems to be a decent alternative for now
Please report back if you ever find a solution
Shazam also didn't work on mine. SoundHound is a very bit as good though!
