There's an app on the market called TuneIn that play local FM radio stations, it work for EC05. Any who like to listen to FM radio should give it a try
It is a great app but not really an FM player. It depends on your location and what channels are offered. None of the local stations that I listen to are available. Because of that I don't consider it an FM player. But it is a great app nonetheless.
I love it for listening to 660 WFAN in NY at work. I use MLB for actual games. I've also been able to use Tune-in to catch Seahawks games. Often it's the opponent's station, but hey, I'm not complaining.

its TuneIn Radio but none the less its amazing been using for a long time now and love the fact i can listen to radio stations back where i lived in Rochester, NY before i moved to Texas. One thing though is it doesn't play one of the stations i listen to is 102.1 the Edge it says restricted so that sucks but if you have a HTC you can listen to its because of its FM Radio.
Its not FM radio, its a streamer for stations that stream online..

Between this app and Iheartradio, I have yet to find a radio station I listen to I can't get streamed to my Epic
Resco makes an app as well. I used resco radio before the jump to android. I wasn't to impressed with the droid version, but I think they had just put it out at the time..

I was researching FM radios and Android and came across this thread. So, it's not really receiving FM signals? Too bad, I'd love to use it at the gym to listen to the TVs, they transmit on specific FM channels and most use a Walkman or something similar - I'm thinking this TuneIn wouldn't work for my purposes

Theres a slight possibility it may become available for gb, but it's not for certain. It worked for some people on the leaked versions.

Okay call me old fashioned but I really want a podcather for audio and some video podcasts that can be watched or listened to offline. I like to enter RSS feeds and have my catcher batch and then download episodes. I love gpodder, is there anything like it in android?
Features requested:
Update all feeds.
present new episodes for download from all podcasts.
batch download episodes and present them for playback offline.
Thanks for your help!
Mike
BeyondPod isn't too bad.
I use google listen works great for audio
Sent from my Nook Color
I also use Listen, works great and keeps track of what you have listened to which in turn syncs to all of your other devices.
Thanks for the recommendations listen is great, and the price can't be beat

Listen is nice but I think Doggcatcher is the best catcher out there.

Still looking for one that will let you pause the stream, go do something such as run in to the grocery store then come back and resume. Every one I've tried, including dogg catcher, restarts the stream. Any suggestions?

I changed to TuneIn Radio (uses Data) because I found that I couldn't use speaker on FM Radio app unless I had headphones plugged in....which kind of defeated the purpose of me wanting the speaker.
Do any of these let you use the speaker without requiring headphones to be plugged in?
like.... tuneIn radio??

That is correct....the headphones ARE the antenna, just have to live with it

in my old nokia day's, and i mention, in area with good fm/am signal, i was fakeing the fm antena with a jack adapter from 3.5 to 2.5...the phone think that you plug a headphone, and try to use it. But, require a little skill, because i was put insede a little chocolate foil, to make contacts inside.
Didn't test it on sgs
Has anyone found a working FM radio app that works on CM7.1? I'm not talking about an app like iheartradio or rdio, but an app that actually picks up FM frequencies.
I've read that the nooks radio is capable of receiving FM radio, and I also know that the CM team sometimes builds this into their rom.

You need a hardware for it, but I do not think Nook Color has it.
You probably read that the wireless chipset supports FM radio. However, it appears that there is no other supporting hardware. Just forget that FM was even mentioned until further notice
Is there any app or hardware I can buy to control my music on my phone through my CD player so I can skip songs on my actually CD player that's played through my phone???
Sent from my XT875 using XDA App
I doubt it.
There are so many Android Phone / hardware configurations and just as many car stereos that I don't think you will have much luck finding anything that will do what you want.
I know the iPhone/iTouch have hardware like that but there's a bigger market and more standardized hardware to achieve that.
Improved Voice controls on the phone would be a better bet for app developers to work on.
I know you can say "Listen to Dark Side of the Moon" and the song will queue up but, as far as I know, you can't say "Skip, Pause, Volume Up, Volume Down".
That would be cool.
I just basically want to control my music play on my phone with my car stereo not really talking about voice actions
Sent from my XT875 using XDA App
I'm not sure if this will help you, there are FM modulators that you can use to stream the audio from your phone to your car stereo.

No I have a aux cable to my phone that would just make it wireless thanks though
Sent from my XT875 using XDA App
Try Googling android car stereo or something like that. You may have to get a more high tech CD player that has Bluetooth capabilities.
Sent from the Evil Empire
Need a Bluetooth audio connection to your head unit, and a head unit that has Bluetooth audio control features. Sync by ford allows this, but i'm sure aftermarkets will too.
An audio cable does not have this functionality in any way.

Ya I figured there would be a combination of aandroud app and a 20 dollar device I can purchase to make this happen other than a expensive new head unit
Sent from my XT875 using XDA App
Maybe just maybe there is a handsfree phone device that could control the music player.... Not sure on that.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk
yeah moto has one but it doesn't play throught the car stereo system whitch it what i am trying to do i guess i might just have to pick up a ipod touch
I have an iPod Nano just because of how it interfaces with my Pioneer head unit. You can't beat the iPod controls on newer car stereos. I hope Android gets there eventually!
Look for gesture control (proximity sensor control) in the market place.

Kenwood makes head units that, when coupled with a Kenwood app for smartphones, allows you to control the phone from the head unit. Very cool.

I bet you could take a pair of those headphones that have the controls built in (Beats or something? The ones for HTC phones, maybe I'm wrong but I saw a picture somewhere where the headphone cable had next/prev and vol up/down buttons) and splice it into your AUX cable and be good to go.
Found another thread on XDA discussing this as well (for a different phone, but still most likely applies in this case): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817287&page=2
New Ford cars actually have the technology to do this. Not sure about other companies but my dad just got a new ford truck that can sync up to apps on your phone via usb or bluetooth and I looked it up and just about all new Fords do it.
yeah i want it too pretty sweet but... i can afford a brand new truck otherwise i wouldn't be discussing other options lol.. i was just go buy one ha ha ..
