I am looking for a free android app(s) to make Google VOIP calls. Groove IP is $4 but a wipe my phone a lot when switching ROMs plus I'll only be using it to save on my cell minutes.
Anyone know a good free way to use Google Voice as VOIP like Google chat does on a PC?

does anyone know of any one app that can set only CERTAIN numbers in my contact list to be called using google voice and includes a dialer as well? i'll gladly pay for an app that includes this functionality. i kind of can't believe something like this wasn't included in the stock app?

You can set Google Voice to ask you if you want to use it to make the call every time you try to call someone.
yeah, i had that option selected for a while, but it got to be mega annoying. thanks, though!

Try Voice Plus Free from the market. You have to add which numbers you DO NOT want to call with Google Voice.

Don't think so. As an alternative, (if it's to get free phone calls) you can try setting your phone up for sip. I use Gizmo5, Sipdroid, GVCallBack, and Google Voice and it works great for free phone calls (incoming and outgoing, no need to pay skype out) over 3g or wifi.
When Google bought Gizmo5, they also closed it to new members, but you might be able to try something similar with Sipgate (http://www.sipgate.com/one)
If it's to actually communicate with other skype users, i'm not sure.
Nimbuzz for skype to skype.
Lifehacker has a guide up for free calls using google voice. Google it. Im lazy.

With a little tinkering yea.
Here is an older thread that gives some options:

I'm deployed to Afghanistan with no service. I do however have good access to wifi. Is there anyway to use my capitvate to make/receive calls on wifi only.
I'm guessing that google voice (or some other such service) is probably involved. Thanks in advance.
Yes! With a SIP Provider such as Gizmo5 (new signups currently closed), Google Voice, Google Voice Callback, and Sipdroid or CSipSimple it's possible to use only wifi to make calls. I'll post more information soon.
Step 1 - Register for Google Voice
Step 2 - Register for SIP Account (try sipgate) and make sure it has unlimited free incoming calls
Step 3 - Set up your SIP # with Google Voice
Step 4 - Set up the Call Back app with your google voice info
Step 5 - Set up your SIP application with information from your SIP Provider
Step 6 - Toggle Call Back, Dial Out, Accept the incoming call and wait for the other person to answer!
I think this covers it. I haven't used this set up in a while and I might be missing some information. Let me know if you have any questions.
You could also use netTalk or skype both available in the market.
And thanks for your service to this great country of ours!

Yes! Thanks so much for serving it means a lot. Stay safe.
Att does not support calls and texts through wifi like t mobile. So you will have to use a 3rd party app like google voice as others have said

Skype or Google Voice
Skype is the best option if you will get a 3G/ wifi connection.
If you have google voice preinstalled in your phone, that is good too.
