Are there any 3rd party keyboards that work on liberated froyo. I really liked the droid x one for cm6. Besides swype. I don't like any of the market ones

Have you tried Smart Keyboard? SwiftKey, SlideIt, 8pen, Better Keyboard all suck. Get Smart Keyboard, skin it nice, and it's the best keyboard, imo. They have exact look-a-like Gingerbread skins, iPhone skins, and a few other cool ones.
I am using stock gingerbread keyboard on my Liberated ROM and it's pretty useful. Tried better keyboard, smart keyboard, swype etc.
i always thought the htc keyboard was the best normal keyboard. my favorite not-normal keyboard is swype.
I really like the one that comes on the Galaxy S phones (not Swype, which is ok for just english). I think it was just called Samsung IME, but was really useful as an English keyboard, and switched to Korean super quick.
I guess if you want a good keyboard that does both you have to get one made by Samsung, but that's just for my needs.

Ya should try the gingerbread kb that's on the market. Closest to the sense kb, and maybe better, it's been forever since I had sense installed.

I really like swift key! Very fluid and great predictions!

Hey guys, I have the cm7 rc2 rom running on my wifes droid and its great little to no bugs great stuff.
Question... While I like the gingerbread keyboard she does not. Any way I could get a t9 type or phone pad kind of keyboard on it? I've searched the market for one but with no success. I'd Luke to have a stock one of some sort.
Any help is very appreciated.

Better keyboard has the option to enable it.

You need to install a Android keyboard replacement app, just like:
- Smart Keyboard PRO https://market.android.com/details?id=net.cdeguet.smartkeyboardpro&feature=search_result
- Better Keyboard https://market.android.com/details?id=com.betterandroid.betterkeyboard&feature=search_result
Both have an option to change the keyboard layout to T9. Sadly both apps are paid apps. SmartKeyboard has a free trial, but you get time to time a popup.
So this is my first phone that doesn't have a physical keyboard and I'm having some trouble. I came from both Droid one and two and the LG touch so I have always had a physical keyboard and now without one I'm somewhat lost. So please anyone with a keyboard app recommendation please speak up!
P.s. I have big hands and tend to hit the wrong key because of that.

Swift key. It learns as you type. Once using if for a while it predicts almost everything you are going to type

I use flext9 because you can swipe the keyboard or use the keys normally, way smoother than swype IMO.
Sent over Al Gore's internet via a rooted Thunderbolt.
swype http://swype.com
Definitely swift key! It's so good at predicting your words that some times it feels like it's reading your mind.

I've been using the gingerbread keyboard found in market. I find it fast and accurate.

+1 for swift key.
Well I already had swift key from it being the free app of the day so I loaded it up and started using it again and so far so good everything is at least better than the stock htc keyboard so I'm at least happy about that.

+1 been using this one as well and I love it. its called "keyboard from android 2.3 +" in the market. when installed it shows up as "gingerbread keyboard"
+1 for flex t9 if you like swyping or swift key for just regular keyboard use. Although t9 can do both, just doesn't predict.

+2.. I use the paid version, so I can bring up the directional arrows as needed. At $0.99 it isn't bad.

+3 lol paid too, deff worth it.
Keyboard from Gingerbread 2.3
There's a free and paid version. Best keyboard available.
+4 for gingerbread keyboard
i love how fast it is
I've also been using the gingerbread keyboard from the market for a while now (even back on my Droid X) and I love it.
I have used swype, swift and the GB keyboard.
For texting, landscape or portrait they are great.
The problem is for emails. Once you lay the phone over to landscape and start to type an email, the kbd takes up the whole screen. Is there a way to shrink the keyboard say 20% or so?
I got Gingerbread, the paid one
I had the G2, and Swype sucks on a bigger screen in comparison, not to mention Thunderbolt doesn't even come with it. I downloaded it and said wtf is this. Idk if its the screen or just not being pre-installed
I use the HTC_IME keyboard

i finally used an app of google play called GB keyboard, its okay, the configuration is useless, but it served to me, thank you all for helping me, if someone could pass me the real android default keyboard if will be great but this is okay
The default i really don't know, but u can try Swiftkey X.. Is a really good keyboard
there's this A.I type keyboard. Excellent prediction engine and has got many themes in the pro version (Including Gingerbread stock and WP7). I like it, but in the end it all comes to personal preferences.
Hi I noticed that swiftkey is quite cheap now and in asking if Swype or swiftkey is better. I need t9 fir Greek language because cyanogen's keyboard doesn't have .
The things that the video about finding out where you are supposed to press space is true?

i personal use swiftkey 3 ,
its very easy to type fast
the numbers (symbols) panel is very organized
amazing smileys panel
the Greek T9 (auto correct) is very good .
Cool themes
and essential for O2x less ram use than Swype!!!
SwiftKey keyboard is just great. For example. It predicts what you wanna write but I personally think the best feature is that you can select multiple languages and then u don't need to annoyingly switch them with a key or something. You just start writing and it automatically recognize what language you write. I use English German and it never made any mistakes. I just start typing in German like Hallo wie geht es dir? And this keyboard already knew after just two letters I was writing German and pretty much predicted the whole other words. It is just that great really.

I bought Swiftkey 3 yesterday for the reduced price an so far the prediction has been almost flawless. I would say buy it and try it. It's so cheap it's not even worth asking about tbh
Edit: I use swedish and english btw
me too ibought it because it has good reviews , and now looks good and it was wayyy cheaper
Well you can also try touchpal keyboard... Its awesome

+1. I'm on swype beta version 1.3.1 . It can support & load at least two languages at a time, can predict your next word, & coupled with "sms to text" can make your own custom dictionary in no time, support keyboard theme, quite accurate, and it's free.
only beta is free
also i can with swift also
The beta version was very slow for me. Now I'm using Touchpal V5 and works great, a little laggy sometimes but I can live with it
i think swiftkey is better
swiftkey 3 has the flow feature so you have the two in one
+Swype, only one hand needed FTW, faster too, I´m using ver 3.26 beta with custom skin ICS like, supports and easily switch between languages. Custom dictionary could be better because you have one for say english lang and one for spanish lang, I wish to have only one custom dictionary
Swype , the current beta sucks.. dictionary support fails bigtime .. and its near to useless without dictionary.
Swiftkey beta works wonderfully ..
Definently swiftkey 3...
The best one i´ve tried so far.
+1 for SwiftKey 3
Neither or.
This one is the bomb: Kii Keyboard.
Swype-like gesture entry (fine for one handers) and Swiftkey-like next word prediction and TONS of customizations (click sound, key sizes, spacing, font, color, ... ....) Best one I've tried and beats Swype hands down!
Still in beta but dev are moving fast to correct issues; pretty much perfect as it is now... All premium options are unlocked in beta....so you get what that means?: get it before it cost some $$.
So go get it and hit that thanks button if you find that it really is better than the two kb on the OP.
swiftkey is better in my opinion
