I have wifi sleep set to never, however on ocassion while the screen is off when I turn it back on I find wifi is dropped. My router seams to be working fine and is running ddwrt firmware. Anyone else expierence this... I dont think there are other power settings that could be effecting this.

Try setting it to sleep when screen off, reboot, then change back to never and it should be fine. Maybe another reboot after that, but the same thing happened to me and that fixed it.

Dunno if this is a common issue as I couldn't find any other mention of it.
Basically, if my O2X has been asleep for a while while I'm at home and I take it out of sleep, it doesn't automatically reconnect to my home network, even though it's set to "never sleep". I have to either disable and re-enable WiFi or leave network notifications on so I can establish the connection from the available networks list.
Has anyone else got this issue or know of a resolution for it?
At least while on MoDaCo Fr12 it seemed to reconnect more quickly but I'm getting 48 hours out of the battery back on stock so would rather start there.
Cheers

Same here. I'm rooted, got CWM but still at stock. It is either being rooted or the freezing of a certain app.
Mine is rooted and from the moment i push the lock button it already is connecting after 2 seconds. Problem could me an app.
What apps did you install that require a wifi connection ?

None really. Auto-sync is usually off and everything else is "on-demand".
Might try a full wipe and just re-install a few apps at a time with titanium.
Hmmmmm.

Hi,
Same prob here. Sometimes it reacts, sometimes it dont. And if it's stuck I have to reboot.

i have same settings, maybe a hardware fault ?
But try to wipe first and see what happens
try app, blade wifi fix from market you must be rooted
happens to my x10 as well sometimes. blade wifi fix does help a bit, although you can always activate/deactivate wifi manually but yes it is annoying.
try changing wifi sleep policy to never, it won't disconnect but you'll notice some battery drain.
This is a known issue with some access points. The G2X forum also has a thread about this.

I have this problem too. LG? Bad, bad boys...
Hey guys,
ever since I used CM7 on my Galaxy it puts the WIFI in sleep mode as soon as i turn the screen off. I've set the sleep policy to never but yet it slows the datarate down first and then some seconds later it is stuck at 0 kb/s. That's very annoying especially if you download some bigger files. Is that a known bug on CM7 or is it just me?
Come on, i am the only one with that problem? :/
I don't have this problem, download continues even if the screen is locked...

When I was using CM7 a while back I had this same issue. Had to make sure screen was on all the time. This and some other small issues made me switch back to Darky's ROM which lags like crazy, but at least has good battery life and is stable.
Are you sure? Even same speed as with screen turned on? How in the blue does it work for you? I've had this issue on every nightly so far
Ever tried another modem/kernel?

Try this:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.shantz.wifikeepalive&feature=search_result
I've tried several modems. Currently i'm on JVQ... As kernel I only tried Fugumod so far... but i seems like it works for others :/
@mobidzid
I've tried this and other apps who keep connection alive, but they have no effect at all for me :/
I have the opposite for MIUI rom.
The MIUI rom by default set the WIFI in sleep mode as soon as the screen is turned off. However, from the battery history, the WIFI never go to sleep. Is this a problem with MIUI rom or there are other setting required?
Nothing new on this? It really drives me crazy here
Please delete, I wrote into the wrong thread... :O

I have same problem?! If anyone solved problem?
Well I've been running gingervolt on my phone and it has been running fine until now. Today my softkeys won't light up anymore unless I go to settings and click on the screen brightness that's when they come on but once it times out and goes black they won't come back on when I unlock it. Also when I received a call and slide the screen up for some reason I can't hear anything and the phone hangs up. Does anyone know what can I do to fix this issue? Thanks. This happened to me the first night gv 1.3 was released. It went away the next day though. Re-flash?
Ok. I will reflash and hopefully that would fix it

This will sound weird but what I do when this happens (usually a restart of device) is bring the phone's screen to my laptop screen momentarily, or just hit it with a beam of light from my 700 lumen flashlight It's quick and easy

haha, very MacGyver...Going into Settings > Display and toggling auto brightness on/off would probably accomplish the same thing.

With everything that you've tried, it's starting to sound like it might be a hardware issue. If that's the case, you might have to send it in to get it fixed.
So should i restore to stock and see if that fixes the problem? I guess either way I need to restore to stock if I need to send it off to get fixed right?

Couldn't hurt. I would do it if nothing else has worked.

No-one appears to have had this issue on this phone yet, and not for this exact reason, which makes me think it's only a small error somewhere. (I hope)
Ever since I got it about a month ago, even before I rooted it or did anything to it, it would randomly reboot with no particular pattern. I've since discovered it's specifically caused by the wifi being left on, and the phone left locked for more than about 15 minutes, regardless of whether any apps are open at all. All in all it only happens when wifi is on, and it's not charging or being used. When being used it never happens, and when it's plugged into USB or the wall charger it never happens, and never when just network data is on, no wifi. And I can leave it with both wifi and data off and it will happily standby for it's whole battery life with no issues.
What is the wifi doing when I leave it locked? does anyone know specifically why it causes this?
Anyone? I use wifi way way more than my data, i want to be able to put it down for 10 minutes!

Try updating the firmware. This might help...

There may be a corrupted apk somewhere that would be active only when Wi-Fi is on (note that there are some services that are still running in the background even if you think they are none , they are not that easy to find and will most likely restart if you kill them , but it's ok because they need to run) . Reflashing the stock firmware with Odin should do the trick.
Also I presume you haven't overclocked it . If you did , lower down the max frequency a little .
FInally , are there any heating issuses when this happens ?
i've had the same issue with the mini 1. it was gone after i have flashed the stock firmware on it.
my mini 2 has no reboot problems (yet).
Try setting wifi sleep policy to "never" of you have at option in settings>wifi>advanced.
Alternatively, it could be called keep wifi on during sleep, turn it to "always"

Yes! this fixed it! thankyou so much man, I hadn't ever discovered that there was an advanced section to the wifi, finally I can leave my phone unattended without worrying about it rebooting!
Hi all,
I'm using stock rom XXLQE on my i9070 and switched to CoCore 6.8 since I was experiencing tremendous lags with official kernel.
Even though I've set WiFi to stay always on during sleep, I have noticed that it drops off after a while when Power Saving mode is enabled. Indeed, turning the screen back on will cause a reconnection to the wireless network. Is it the expected behaviour when power saving is enabled?
No.. are you using some battery saving app?

No, as far as I know; I haven't installed any. I thought that it could be related to the particular WiFi network but it's happening both at home and at work...

No. Check your settings again. If its on ON, it should not close.
I use also xxlqe with Harsh jelly v2.1. And cocore v7.6 Wi-Fi is always on. And i dont have this problem.

Power Saving Mode does NOT disable wifi during sleep if settings are set to keep it ON!
priority of Power Saving Mode is higher than settings of wifi
i have PSM turned off and i dont noticed any trouble from wifi

Something is wrong with your phone. This does not happen on my S Advance or even on my Note 2 !
I'll try to run for few days with PSM disabled and see if that happens again.
I suspect it won't but I need more time, I'll keep you posted in case.
By the way, is there an app that logs WiFi connections/disconnections? The simplest possible would fit...It can be useful for debugging purposes
I've extensively tested the phone, and it happened quite a few times that WiFi went off for long periods (around 30 mins): in fact, as soon as I unlocked the screen the connection promptly restarted. I could determine the downtime by some Whatsapp messages I received and their timestamp.
Disabling Power Saving Mode apparently solved the problem (i.e., I've never experienced any WiFi downtime).
