Looking to buy a Tilt

Well, it's official. I trashed my Tilt. I dropped it in a bucket of fresh oil that i was using to soak a set of lifters for a motor I am building and didnt realize it for at least an hour or so. Now it looks like I have a 70's lava lamp in the screen. It does boot, but no response via the screen and it seems to be flickering the backlight. Before anyone asks, yes it was synthetic and no, I have no idea how I did it. Oh, and I found a cure for the sticky keyboard keys. Mine are smooth as silk but who knows if they work or not. It's hard to see past the lava bubble of oil trapped in the screen.
Does anyone have a Tilt for sale or know of someone who does?

Oh and the funny thing about it is that everyone that sees it says it would be awesome if you could buy one that had the lava in the phone like mine does now. However, I think they want it to work and really dont want me to install the lava for them.

If anyone has an extra Tilt they want to get rid off. Depending on the Price I might buy it from you. Also, I'm Thinking of adding this to the Kaiser FAQ Wiki.

It sucks. My 5 yr. old had for about a year now. So you can guess what it's like. Here's the best part, I had to take my kids phone. God, I'm an ass for that. I guess I could give him my new "lava" phone as a replacement for his razr.

One hell of a way to make your keyboard nice and smooth. Take a look on ebay of CL.

I just got a tilt from AT&T for very cheap. Go to wireless.att.com and buy a refurbished one. They are FREE with 2 year agreement!! Here's the catch... you need to only keep the phone on AT&T for 30 days then pay a $175 Early Termination Fee and the phone is yours for the $175 + $40 or so for the first months service!!!! I just got mine this way and it's perfect... it was as good as brand new looked like it was never touched before!

I appreciate the offers, but ebay is not the solution. I don't care if the phone is locked or unlocked. I am more than compitent enough to unlock the phone myself. Also, just because the phone is unlocked does not make it worth more or less than the locked phone in my book. $500+ for a tilt is just not an option. The money is not the issue, the value of the phone is. XDA store has the phones for $224.99 for those with an already existing account. Why would I pay more than that?

I deserve that. Still, i think i have found the cure for the "sticky" keys.
Side note, seems as though everything seems to be working again. It did trash a battery as it wont pewr with it installed. However, the "lava" bubble is gone, the sound is no longer garbled, the touch seems to be working and as far as i can tell everything is back to functioning. The only issue I am seeing now is that there is some SLIGHT discoloration to the background of the screen. Who knows, it may work fine after all. I am still in the market though for a new or refurb, either way.

FML is just just a term meaning ****mylife. mainly you tell your stories thats r either funny,weird, or just messed up and end it with FML.

Today, I had to buy another pair of 'fat jeans', because my old 'fat jeans' became my new 'skinny jeans'. FML........
Well the Xperia X1a got me in debt. FML

How many pockets does the average person have? Well i know i always have loadz and the phone could be in a multitude of pockets but generally in my chest pocket next to my heart, anyway so i'm out in town with my tusty Nokia Ringo "yes i feel old" feeling the ol bladder kicking in decided i have to go to them horrible town toilets "we all know what they like" anyway sprinklin away finish and force of habbit flush the toilet only to hear a splash very similar to taking a dump, look down and oh my god the Ringo is drinking toilet water "well i'd have love to have left it" but just purchased so had to get it you can imagine whats going through my mind? @ least i flushed before lol so i get it out and put under the hair dryer think i must have spent a good hour, didn't turn the phone on for about 3 days, to my suprise when turned on it worked, only for me to be moving away about 6 weeks later for work to get to my destination and find i'm in a city with no working mobile and no explanantion as to why it didn't work? Untill phone the x and find out that orange juice was the culprit "never spent so much money on payphones" but alls good many years later i have a Tilt and am happy

Something similar happened to me a while ago with my motorola star tac...
I was having it on my shirt pocket, went to the bathroom and suddenly my star tac was swimming on the WC together with all nasty fluids there!
I flushed first then took it off and of course it was dead...

Just wasn't a Nokia was it? ahhhhhh and the Ringo was an all in one unit couldn't even take the battery out often compared to a brick

Yep i remeber was my first real job working as a trainee mechanic and being fleased by a new phone, got it from a shop called Tandy to which i'm pretty sure no longer exists as outlets "shops" anymore?
They no longer work as was on the analog network and had *# commands to do anything
I'm not sure but also think they were the first ever pay and go phone?

I hope you get your phone back, and that you didn't give it to them with anything on it... you know, such as your google accoutn linked to market so they can download whatever apps they feel like?

And before i give it them i wiped it.
Its just, when she dropped it she didn't apologise. Or check it for any damage.
So if it comes back damaged, i will be telling them that the woman in the shop dropped it.

lol Please don't hate me for this but Apple will replace and held hand device straight away if something is not working and is under warranty. That's the only good thing from them But anyway hope you get a replacment device, especialy considering the woman dropped your phone

Well i was aiming to get a refund so i can buy a san francisco.
But.... It hasn't worked out so far.
Still, i will see how it goes.

My HD2 has developed a problem with the screen too.
I want to give it in for repair, but I really cant be bothered waiting upto a month (tmobile) to get it replaced.
So I think Im going to be cheeky and ask them for a brand new phone insted, as HD2s are almost a year old (DesireHD pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaseee god!)
I doubt they will let it happen though...

cba to quote an earlier post, mainly as my work proxy had one hell of a seizure yesterday due to the language used... guess they changed some things!
But anyways - Sorry i misunderstood. Did you get the name of the carphone employee, and the time and date? That way if it comes back un repairable due to the damage from the dock you can pressure them to look at the CCTV to watch the fool drop your phone!
Hopefully you'll get a new phone, I don't know of many places that still sell your LG GT540.

I don't think that the gt540 is a popular phone. Probably why i got it for £109.99. I SO WANT A REFUND!!

There is alot of reasons people would want their phone rooted even if they didn't know how to do it. Remove bloatware, speed up the UI, use incompatible apps...and alot more.
I do agree that you should do it yourself to know how to fix it if something goes wrong, but when it comes down to it, it is their phone and they can do with it as they please.
The same could be said for basically anything though. If you can't change your own oil, should you be driving a car?

I agree with this. I cant root my phone (on my own). But I followed someone elses guide & was succesful. My GF has a wildfire S, & has constant problems with lack of memory. She cant root, or even follow a guide, but it needs doing to make the phone usable.

Guess it's a service they are providing but consumers might as well go on YouTube or Google and save yourselves $30. God knows how their software works. Good luck to them trying to explain to someone on how to unlock the HTC One X for example with their software.

with so many video tutorials out, its sooo easy to root youtube/xda are your friends :good:

Rooting a phone Is a joke IMO, Who would pay $35? I mean If It were flashing ROM's and what not then I somewhat understand that as that's where the brick can happen but can you really brick doing a simple root that takes less then 5 minutes?

Umm no. You have far more of a chance bricking your phone during the root process than flashing a ROM. Rooting can involve unlocking bootloaders, changing bootloaders, using unsecure boot images, flashing unsecure kernels...all of which can brick a phone...even if doen correctly. Flashing a ROM, 99.99999% of the time will not brick your phone.

I think this is only for very noobs

Hey guys looking for great things from this phone, swore I would never buy another LG phone after my G2X experience but it was time for a new phone and this seemed to be the best out of my options between the M9 and S6.

Same here. Still the waiting game on the 128 from T-Mob.

Same here already received my charger and 32gb. card but nothing on 128gb. which requested on 6/5/2015

Does any of the T-Mobile devices have the default internet browser? I am using the preview device, which has the same model number, but I think its missing a few apps, and I have a couple added ones also, like Extended Media Player(no idea what it does and havent gotten it to work). But I am really trying to get the default browser on this device

Ahh boo to that, I liked having them separate, default launches the internal video player when watching a movie, which allows for easier streaming. Now I have to download movies

Anyone else find xda on chrome unbearable? The ads are so much that I can't even view a page without it redirecting me to google play. It's pretty much unusable. Can't wait for root for this very reason alone.
