No one knows yet, reported to be the fall time, so anytime in the aug-oct timeframe id guess to the carrier then who knows after that to the rest of us.

It has not yet been released. Just a general time frame of sometime this fall.
Microsoft is wanting a fall release to end users and that seems pretty plausible as they are about to release developer devices en masse which means that the update is at least already RTM (release to manufacturers) or has been RTM for a while. Meaning that the carriers have the majority of the summer for their testing. A European branch of Microsoft even said mid-October release.
That no one know it, Microsoft said it will release an upgrade in the fall

So our brand new phones are obsolete already? I'm having issues believing that. Have any proof of this anyways?

Are they going to give the already Kaiser a free trade in? Or do we have to go out and buy this?
this is bad very bad ,they update the driver nd to bad for the people that aleady purchased the unit!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????
another thing your thread states already fixed
not true or else it would be already available as an update and another thing why believe you when your user name is laugh atloud ?????
dont worry. we the cooks will just extract the new drivers and cook them into the roms.

Great point. But it really sucks that we have to wait till March!!! I wish it was by January at max.
But if HTC has solved this problem why would they not release a ROM Upgrade for the current TyTn II users. ROM's with bug fixes have been fairly common in the past. As I understand the driver issue is a software issue and not a hardware issue. Experts!! I am correct??
Not to mention the poster has only 4 posts......sounds like a troll to me
Plus i heard the updates will be available throught the new Windows Update feature.
it's amazing !!!
the solution exist but doesn't be share !!!
Why your brother doesn't send the driver to the forum ?
I think this forum have the best programmers to include it in a new rom !!!
and it's worst that htc doesn't publish it !!!!
Happy new year (take that on left hand as a bad joke in regard of this thread, and on right hand for my wishes !)
hm..real...or fake..?
not just that, but assuming qualcomm's current legal and shortage of chips troubles, whats the odds that the new TyTn (as the OP was stating) will be using a qualcomm chip? This seems very unlikely. So really the driver issue HASN'T been fixed, since we can be 99% sure that the new chipsets will not be from qualcomm.
I think we are unnecessarily torturing somebody who wanted to give us some good news. Upgrades of software usually are released to fix multiple small problems all in one, not piecemeal. If the brother of laughoutloud were to release the code, he could lose his job as well! Let's wait and hold for some good things to come in 08, if everything gets released right away, then what is there for our phones to look forward to?
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear... the proof is in the pudding. I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, keep the pressure on.
this guy is full of Sh!t
the only way to know if it is or not a fake is if he posts the driver on the forum and we test it.. but for now.. for mi is a fake..
even if it was real, they cant just go behind the company's back and post up the driver before it's schedule release date. serious fines and penalties.
You guys dont need to believe him, dont need to call him a fake or call him names. just wait and see, nothing can be done about it anyways. if it doesnt release in march than okay call him a fake. until then, shouldnt speculate.
If he is a fake, he probably enjoying himself right now watchin everyone get so worked up over it. If he is real, well he probably just got a big bad impression about the members of XDA forums.
or maybe if the guy will talk to us a little more and not leave us hanging. or let us contact his brother via email or something as proof?
A lot of people have been saying that HTC will be issuing upgrades to TP2 users for W6.5 and Manilla on the 6th.
Is this for certain?
If HTC are planning this, why have HTC UK issued ROM upgrades for Voda and Orange on the 28th of September? I mean, if they were planning to release WM6.5 etc. why release those updates so close to that date?
Well the updates for Orange and Vodaphone, that are the decisions of them. Not the decisions of HTC.
It's not certain that it will be there october 6th. It's the day that wm 6.5 oficially will be ditributed. So possibly it can take a while longer before an upgrade comes out. But this is not expected.
Many roms you see at the moment in this forum, are basicly under construction roms by HTC and then tweaked and improved by the chefs.
Also, the "new" roms for orange and voda have the same update as the one for HTC unbranded phones. So nothing new or spectaculair there.
official date
went and asked customer care bout the update,it will be out in 3 -4 weeks time, with a newer version of touchflo 3d
wohooooo
Hi, quarintus and thanks for the reply.
I am curious about this so I've just e-mailed HTC Europe support asking when WM6.5 will be available and if the upgrade will have the new TF3D & I received a reply to my questions from them almost instantly!
Here it is:
Thanks for your email. We are expecting the upgrade in about 3-4 weeks time, and as far as we are currently aware, it will include the new version of touchflo, although exact specs should be confirmed nearer the time Best regards, HTC Europe Support

LOL! Well they do say great minds think alike
hi to all
i want download official wm 6.5 for my pro2!! is it Release from HTC?!!
{insert facepalm here}
I think he meant to put a ? instead of a !
I contacted HTC in the Netherlands and they wrote me they dont have an exact date yet when they will release it on their website.
Where do you get it will be released today?
And yes, when released, it will be available on the HTC website.
Some websites stated 6th Oct too, but since I cant find it anywhere in HTC website...
So I guess its not true that the new ROM is out lol
The fact that Microsoft officially releases it to the world does not meant that manufacturers such as HTC automaticaly release it as well.
In theory the development cycle for manufacturers only starts today. The fact that big players such as HTC have had WM6.5 at their disposal earlier than today only makes that their release date will be somewhat sooner than what normally could be expected ...
Patience y'all !!
Orange say they'll have 6.5 available for download by October 12th, so i guess HTC will release it by then.

+1 closing thread..
I was boring searching about X1 and 6.5, and I find this message published yesterday on facebook, about a guy that talks about a 6.5 ROM that XDA has got. I suppose that is talking about the Itje ROM. But the thing that I saw amazing is that he said he called Sony Ericsson and they him to them that it will be an update after X2 were released. Don't you understand this reading the message? I attach the link to the message to this post:

Best regards
Complete bs, IMO.
there is no update. the build he is talking about is the one itje has but SE has said that a 6.5 build will never be released. the build was only for testing purposes.
i think we should wait and see, up to time there is no official info stating that the x1 will never or it will get 6.5, even tho on their blog they stated
We picked up on a couple of rumours from yesterday that an official X1 Windows Mobile 6.5 rom had surfaced on XDA developers. Just wanted to be clear that this isn’t true.
There is no official X1 6.5 rom and it’s not in the X1’s product roadmap. There are hackers out there who can do pretty much anything, but unless you’re getting it from the SE update service it isn’t an official Sony Ericsson product.
so lets wait and see if they will or will not

all companies test stuff with no intentions of releasing it. so the build was a test build or itje lied about the build (with i refuse to believe).

I think itje has a test build but I also think that this test build was made on X1 with intention of knowing If X2 will be able to run WM6.5 with the same hardware as X1 or if it is needed to bring some more powerfull hardware into X2...
that article does not say there will not be or there will be, that is a perfect structure using the best english language possible, to keep us from believing there will be or there wont be, because its too early to say if they will or wont update simply because the x2 is on the horizon, its not smart for SE to say they will update the x1 or they wont...
its called marketing, regardless what anyone says, that article is not saying that there wont or will... was the R3A updates on the roadmap? what happened to the goodies of R3A? weren't they in the roadmap for R3A? did we get them?
only time will tell if we will get the update or not, by december i should have one of the new HTC devices anyway
itje did leak stuff before, and we never got em, i believe roadmaps do change

at least 1 of the firmware update was on the roadmap, the second came when they did not sort out all the bugs in the r2 update.
u will find its in plain english. its not in the x1 roadmap and everyone knows that when the x2 is released SE will stop production of the x1 and stop updating the firmware.
I will make it easy for u to understand. if u want 6.5, SE wants u to buy an x2

I don't think the Sony blog could have been any more clear about there not being an official 6.5 release.
First they say that itje's ROM is not an official release (which most likely means that it is an internal testing ROM that was leaked
Then they say that there is no official 6.5 ROM out there.
And then they say that they have no plans to make an official 6.5 ROM.
It seems very clear to me can they change their minds? Possible, but very unlikely.
According to HTC, Gingerbread upgrade for Incredible S will be on June for Singapore.
"Dear Alexander,
Thank you for contacting HTC.
With reference to your query, Incredible S may receive upgrade to Android 2.3 in June this year.
Thank you for your continuous support of our products and services. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
We look forward to be of service to you again"
That's pretty slow, my opinion.
Better late than never? LOL
June....I hoping we got the update in April. I guess June is about right. These next 2 months the phone should be out there more in one variation or another in the Canada, the States and some more places overseas.
In my opinion to HTC's reply is earliest is June.

True ....
If it will be as with the Hero, then the update will be released at Christmas time, at best
This has alreayd been posted before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014937
and I'll say what I said there again. Customer services just give a generic date, until HTC make an official announcement, they don't know anymore than we do. I have already seen a couple of leaks of the GB rom floating about (nothing that can be publicly released or flashed due to NDA's) but I can't see any reason for it not being sooner
When it launches as the droid incredible 2 here in the states it will have gingerbread pre-loaded, so there would be no excuse to not have the INCs on GB before that, verizon ad's a ton of crapware to the device and not to mention cdma vs. gsm, we should get gingerbread before the Dinc2, at least I hope so.
