To all ROM maker

Dear all,
I like all of your ROMs very much, but i found most of your ROMs didn't include the MS Office, or just include the MS Word and Excel only.
But we need the MS Powerpoint all the time and we have to install the full version MS Office again.
we have to reinstall the MS Office again and again if we found something is wrong with our units then have to do a hard reset.
So can you ROMs maker include the Powerpoint in the new ROMs you will make in the future?

The powerpoint is avaliable seperately as a CAB somewhere in the forum, do a search and you will find it...no need of seperate thread

Hi Ather,
i am wondering what not include this useful program we use everyday in the ROM instead of some program sounds good but no so many people use?
by the way, i have tried many time to search a single powerpoint file in CAB format but no luck. i just only can find the full MS Office suit in CAB format.
can you advise a working link?

Hello if you look at C_Sheckar ROM it has separate .cab file.
Anyhow here it is [please see attached file]
You can also put only CAB file into your ExtROM and then each time you have to do it you can have it automatically.

6.1 rom for xda ii backpack
is it possible to cook a 6.1 rom that supports the xda ii backpack?

Theseas I don't think this is the right place to ask this question (place means this thread because it has been already answered.)
Please either ask your question in another thread or create a new one to get a quick answer.
As far as your question is concern I am not sure if 6.1 can support xdaii backpack.

Sdkcerts and FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly into rom?

Hi all,
i was trying since yesterday to cook my own rom German_AT, first doesnt look that bad at all , but now i run into an problem, i wanna include
FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly.cab and sdkcerts.cab into my rom, i think it would be enough to include it as an oem installation, i built the package and they seem to install, but they doesnt work i also watched out that sdkcerts gets installed befor FInixNOverBatteryIconsOnly.cab, but it doesnt change the battery icon
here are the oempackages how they look like but i think i must done something wrong hehe

ok
the package installation didnt work for me at all, so i decided to include it into the sys folders, add an rgu file for the registry tweak, after that it works , but dont use it anymore on my last rom hehehe.

I had the "x" dimming issue with FInixNOverBatteryIcons
Found ts owen taskbar (Sony Ericsson oriented with sort of 3D effect bat/net icons) and fell in love with it
Should I recommend ROM cookers to take a look at it (I downloaded it from xda-devs but can't figure out exactly "where" now)

Well it was a thread 'bout radio antenna alternatives but the icons showed themself along with my antenna

hehe i built that already in my last rom , they are so nice, but i use the tsowentaskbar5v1_7

Funkee's Rom 6.5

Hi all
have just created a 6.5 rom using the Kitchen on here with the Topaz OEM enhancements Notifications Screen and new style notification messages.
and the R3 Camera and panels manager
have added following panels
generic
R3 Media Panel
On The Road
Google
also
PimBackup
S2u2
and Soft Reset.
is working ok for me so far!

have just realised though you will need to install the ActiveX.cab to get growing panel to work

I just wonder if there are any reasons for you to complain about the choises people make about what to include? Why don't you just make your own mix?

Wow new cook and rom poping up every where for the X1. I love it, keep up the good work.

The same problem that I have with the original kitchen´s rom: no video playback, also in the windows dir there are some programs (like htc calculator and htc album) that dont have link in programs. Love the notification enhancement, and I hope you can cook the menu enhancement too, it would be the perfect 6.5 rom then

Well, first off all you are writing in a public forum, that means that everyone with rights to publish can answer or give comments.
And have you ever been thinking that the "Chef" is including things to their Rom's because they like it? And probably others that use this Rom like it as well. There are however a lot of good tutorials on how to cook your own Rom's, and the more people cooking the bigger selcetions of Rom's we will have. And the good thing is that now we know that when you publish your own Rom it will be whitout S2U2

XT9 loses added words after soft reset

Hi,
I recently upgraded my Topaz to WM 6.5. Since doing so any new words i addin XT9 are lost after a soft reset/restart. Any ideas how o fix this?

I have tried deleting and /or renaming the files eT9Rudb, eT9Asdb and eT9Cdb in the windows directory. These are system/ROM files but I have used Resco explorer to change properties before deleting or renaming them. After startup the originals are back. If i use eT9MyWords.exe to add words they are lost after a restart also. Is there a reg setting that controls the recreation of these files at each reboot?
Any ideas please?? I have searched many forums with no success.

I'm having the same issue mate. eT9MyWords.exe won't add any words and all my Added words that i save in WinMo's messaging are lost after a soft reset.
I have eT9Rudb, eT9Asdb in my windows folder but can't open them or even copy them over to my desktop. And i daren't delete them! I'll have a look at that Resco explorer.
So frustrating that words are lost after a soft reset. I'm seriously considering going back to 6.1!

I'm not sure if this is a genuine " we know there is a problem and are sorting it" or a "no idea what you're on about so PFO"

the file which stores the new words must be
eT9Cdb.Cdb located in the windows folder.
I learned a few words with XT9 and did a reset.
XT9 seems to not read it, because all
words are still in this file if you open it
with a simple editor on your pc...
The file has exact the same timestamp
before and after a softreset which means
no changes ...

Same here. with WM6.5 XT9 loose new added words. There wasn't problem with WM6.1. I'm using original HTC Italian ROM. The HTC support said : "the SW is in this way !"

I got the same problem.
Flippin 6.5!! I cant see what all the fuss was about. There is hardly any benefit in upgrading. Im using the UK T-Mobile 6.5 upgrade.

Please tell HTC Support that,while they are busy sorting the problem out, here at XDA we have ROMs today they will (improbably) make the day after tomorrow. The ROM in my signature does not have this issue at all, it's a scandal that that they messed up with a such insignificant but widely used feature.
At the moment the score is:
Cooked ROMs 999
Official ROMs 0
...and counting...

Can I cut and paste your comment to HTC support ?

I contacted HTC regarding the loss of added words over the weekend and got a reply a few minutes ago:
Dear valued HTC customer, Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center. We are dedicated to providing you with the best quality service and answering all of your questions and concerns.
This is a software issue and we are working in the new ROM upadate to this device to fix couple bugs in the system but there is no date to be release yet and we recommend to keep monitoring the web site for future updates.

Sounds like they are working on it (and hopefully the other annoying quirks mentioned all over the Topaz board!). Fingers crossed the rom update comes out pretty quick.

Nope, nothing from HTC yet - i check their support page everyday! Grr

same problem, also waiting for solution. I guess just as everybody who downloaded the official 6.5 upgrade

Wrote the follow text to the HTC Support Team:
"Dear Support Team, My problem is a known one: My HTC TD2 with the 6.5 update, doesn't remember new words which were put to the dictionary after a soft reset - After every softreset new xt9 dictionary words are always deleted, which is very annoying! please fix this tiny problem, with causes so much annoyance for so many"

I received the same answer from HTC Support that seppi_eat_world, but I haven't try out the supposed solution because I don't have time right now to install all the programs again.

just a quick noob question! about the different ramdisk sizes!
what is the idea of having all the different ramdisk sizes.
is it just personal preferance or do different versions of the [xda II himalaya which is what i am running] need different sizes to work properly.
please inlighten me as all the other rom's i have flashed my himalaya with had just the one nk.nbf to choose from.

Bug found (trouble back to old version [ROM] 6.5.3 25006)
- can't change ring phone

Installed onto both phones and now testing it. So far quite fast . ImanD are you saying you cant change the ringtone on this version or the old one?
I did find that the old one messed up big time in phone ringtone and voice. I was using it yesterday and all of a sudden I could recieve calls but couldn't hear anything what the other guy is saying. I re-flashed it with this new ROM and its working fine so far.
Will report bugs if found :d

just add any mp3 of wma file into device memory and it will work

One thing I noticed I cannot add more information into the contact list. I have two XDA II's so I gave one to my dad and he wanted to add three telephone numbers however couldn't do it since it doesn't allow to add more than one contact number.
Could you give advise on that please?

But which keyboard works on it? Neither of Fingerkeyboard /work only on 6.5 not 6.5.3/ and Pocket CM keyboard.

Try to install .NetCF first. Most of those apps need it, but it's to big to cook it into the rom.

I didnt understand the concept of RAM in this version. I downloaded the file and tried to burn 64MB version. After installtion I went into the memory section and it was still saying 11.54MB left after burning the ROM. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong here?
