I have tried multiple versions of gapps on multiple roms but none will flash. The only one that did flash, the market would not work? Any help possible? The current rom i am trying is TeamHeroC's AOSP rom.
Try this
reflash your current recovery
do a full wipe
redownload the rom
flash the rom without any extra mods
flash the recommend gapps for the rom
Reboot
Hope this helps.

I have been searching around and can't find out how exactly I should go about flashing a custom ROM on the Hero. Yes, before anyone says it, I am a noob at this, and this will be my first time flashing a ROM(if i could ever figure it out). I have the latest stable version of CyanogenMod 7, which i believe is 7.1.0, and the GApps package to go along with it. Both are on the root of my SD card. I rooted with Z4root, downloaded ROM Manager, and chose the setting to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery. Should I flash using ROM Manager, or should I boot into CWM Recovery and flash from there? If possible, does anyone have a video that could help me along with this? The video posted in the video thread for this device is down. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!
Boot into Clockwork Mod Recovery and flash from there.
BTW, I'm running the latest release candidate for 7.2. Works perfectly for me.
I ended up finding a video on how to flash through CWM. I also later downloaded one of the CM 7.2 RCs, believe RC2. Now my next question is, do I need to wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache if I update to a newer version of CM, like a newer RC of 7.2 or one of the early beta versions of CM9?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA
Wipe cache etc. when flashing a later version of CM7 over an earlier version. Do a wipe data/factory reset when flashing CM7 over CM9.
It has always been a safe route whenever you flash a new rom to just wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik.
Yes.

Hello, I am trying to flash Chroma rom for my Verizon Nexus 6 but it boots back to the twrp home screen and does not flash the rom. I wipe the phone and the dalvik cache and all that. I was running Blisspop which encrypted my phone I believe. I wiped the phone and tried to flash Chroma and it would just reboot to the twrp home screen. I restored my nandroid backup of my stock rom still being rooted and it still will not flash. Have tried other roms and the only rom it would flash is blisspop. I am currently on the stock rom with franco kernel. Anybody know what is causing the issue? Thanks in advanced.

Make sue you have the latest version of TWRP (2.8.6.0) ALso try redownloading the ROM, may you have a bad download?
Are you also wiping system doing a full wipe coming from another rom
Yes, I have the latest version of TWRP. I will try redownloading the ROM. And yes I am wiping the system before trying to flash.
I've solved the problem when boot direct to recovery but now when I try to flash a custom ROM with gapps the phone turns on and after the bootanimation like 10s at the setup wizard it just reboots itself and keeps doing that... I've tried tk gapps(9-27 and 9-13) and open gapps 9-29... If I flash only the ROM and SuperSU it does boot and works great... I don't know what else to try
This may be insulting but you're not flashing a stock based rom are you? Gapps are only necessary if flashing an AOSP rom like CM or it's derivatives.
Is not insulting, you just want to know what I'm doing. Don't worry... And no, the stock boots normally and tried AOSP, CM and Nexus experience and all of them booted without gapps but then with gapps is the same, 10s on lockscreen or setup wizard and reboot
Tried TWRP 2.8.6.0 and 2.8.7.0 and philz touch too
i found out that my phone does not boot with full or stock gapps package and it does with mini one... how is this even possible if i have been flashing stock since cm11 ?
it has to be something with one of these
Hey,
I am trying to flash a ROM on my i8190. I tried the novefusion-roms as well as the stock rom. However if I flash the Gapps in the first cast the found crashes after the first boot during the optimizing apps steps. If I use the stock rom (rooted) and remove some Gapps (like Kiosk), the phone also crashes. Here's what I mean by crash: The phone turns off, turn on shows the boot logo, turns off and so on. Only after flashing the PARAM and re-partitioning the phone I get some life back into it (however senseless since I can't use the Gapps).
Any ideas are appreciated,

I assume you already tried different Gapps packages, also the littlest one available only with Play Store functionality (Pico package) ? Did you try to wipe /system via recovery and then flash ROM and Gapps? Greetings

You are correct. I tried the nano and the pico package. I did flash the ROMs via ODIN (since they would not even flash correctly with TWRP). However I did not wipe /system beforehand (since I assumed that this is a clean install). I might try this in addition to propably switching to CWM.
Thanks for you reply,

Hi! Currently running LOS 14.1 with Boeffla kernel, but I need to flash the stock one. Any ideas where to can find it?
Just flash rom.zip again on top of the current installation.
Or extract the boot.img from rom.zip, put it in a flashable zip and install it via twrp.
Will this overwrite only the system files? (I don't want to set up the phone from start... )
No if you just flash it on top of the current system, without any wipes or resets, all settings and datas should be still there.
Oh thanks! that's great! Can you do the same to try another ROM?
Switching from one rom to another with a so called dirty flash?
I would say: its not only not recommended :good:
You can try a dirty flash with a version update of the same rom, but all other would most likely end in problems. And latest than you will have do to a clean flash anyways. I would suggest you read the thread of your preferred rom(s) in advance and carefully (at least the last several pages) and than decide what and how you will flash.
