[Q] Can't OC with Setcpu + Speedmod K13C (Conservative governor)

My problem basically is that setting conservative governor (recommended for SGS) i can't get over 1000mhz. With performance i get 12800mhz, which is my goal and it's stable but it won't change so it kills my batery.
The other options won't work, ondemand is unstable (locks my phone), powersave keeps 100mhz and userspace won't change the rate.
So how can i be able to get 12800mhz in conservative governor in SGS?

You need a OC kernel ... speedmod as a basic kernel just has the cpu stepping changed ... but does not enable OC

If you are able to really get the 12800Mhz share it pls with screenies. I am not sure that even desktop records are that high. But good luck on that

Here you have. I'm getting 12800mhz in a Modded version of SpeedMod that allows you to overclock. Official version does not allow you to oc.
But the problem is that in conservative governor won't go more than 1000mhz.

Hey, man.
Use voltage control app and set the maximum clock to 1280.
You should have the i9000b variant, just like me. I'm using this kernel too and overclock my phone easy with setcpu and conservative governor.
The Voltage Control app you can get from market.
Hope this helps.
Just to mention, I wanna could put the vcore higher than 1.3v to achieve 1400 mhz, but the limit is 1.3. That is so sad.

But reading other posts on other devices forums about this, some people say SmartassV2 is the best...
So, as each device is different (specially by the ARM version and manufacturer), I decided to begin this conversation here, and listen to what people with the same device as me has to say about it.
So which Governor do you consider the best for SGM?

Im using cm7.2, setting at nofrilis Governor : SavagedZen io : sio and undervolt at cm setting, give more battery life.

Thanks for the reply, but as I can see on No-Frills, sio is th I/O Scheduler, that is already set. I'm asking here about the Governor.

I see that people are very divided between ondemand and SmartassV2.
Now with sio and noop as I/O Scheduler.
Anyone else would like to share?

i will say ondemand because cpu will be set at lowest frequency and when you need it it will set at higher frquency which will save your battery and if you want performance then no lag will be good

The principle of the ondemand governor I'd already figured out (and actually didn't like it, very rough).
I would like to hear more about the principle of the SmartassV2, whereas since this morning I'm using SmartassV2 + noop and I noticed my SGM way smoother than with ondemand + sio.
Now is wait and see if the battery is sucked more.

smartassV2 is a re-working of the original smartass governor, it allows for the CPU to scale through all frequencies from the lowest you set to the highest, based on the load occuring. Basically it scales CPU based on realtime needs of the system, saV2 supposedly incorporates some more agressive settings for screen off, and I believe quicker scaling than the original smartass.

[Q] Tegrak OC Question

I just installed Tegrak OC and I am a little mystified on the best setup up for my note. I have Darky rom 3.3 and Franco test Kernal installed. If anyone has this combo and is using Tegrak what have you found to be the best setup for battery and performance together ?

Why do you need to O/C Your note??Its already very quick at processing and overclocking only leads to lesser processor life,battery life and consume lot of power.If I were you,I would leave it as it is

I'm using Tegrak and franco.kernal on stock deodexed rom. I have cpu set at 1600 but don't know enough about the other settings to make any other changes.

@vijai2011 I OC because I have the need for speed!!! And, it actually makes GB run smoother and quicker. I don't yet know if I will use it once the official ICS is released. I've heard the ICS is very quick and smooth compared to GB.

Yeah i have francos test and running 1.6 overclock with the same voltage as stock 1.4ghz (1300mv). Is completely stable for me. Overclocked the gpu too to 267/400. 400mhz is stable for me at 1000mv but may not be for others. Be careful of overheating with 3d games though. Also changed io scheduler to deadline - its francos default but for testing he changed to noop for stability testing.

Best gaming kernel ?
The latest AniDroid kernel.
Underclock it to 250MHz @850mV.
Overclock it to 1.6GHz @1300mV.
Undervolt each frequency.
Overclock the GPU to 400MHz.
Install ChainFire Engine from the Market.
The ROM doesn't matter much, but I'd stay clear from TouchWizz because its bloated.
Something like sixstrings's AOKP Build 40. Or ParanoidAndroid v0.5. Or some other ROM.
The most efficient IO is Simple IO governor, aka SIO. Benchmarks show it as weak, but its actually the best one, eveyone knows this.
The most efficient governor for the N7000 is interactiveX.
lulzactiv and pegasusQ don't seem to work well for many people (me included).
When gaming something intensive (GTA3, DeadTrigger, Flash games, etc) you might one to change it to "Performance" governor. But it will drain your battery fast, so have it charging or have a spare battery handy. And remember to deactive "Performance" governor back to interactiveX (or otherwise Hotplug or Ondemand).
Besides this, try experimenting with different set ups. You could get different results, and find what works best for you.

I remembered the cranium kernel at 2016 mhz..it became really hot...
Ondemand( little bit tweaked) 368 1804 sio...that s perfect

the combination of default: lulzactive + sio is very performant (CFS version)
or you can try the governor lagfree
if you want the best reactivity using the BFS kernel version,
but is less multitasking
