My problem basically is that setting conservative governor (recommended for SGS) i can't get over 1000mhz. With performance i get 12800mhz, which is my goal and it's stable but it won't change so it kills my batery.
The other options won't work, ondemand is unstable (locks my phone), powersave keeps 100mhz and userspace won't change the rate.
So how can i be able to get 12800mhz in conservative governor in SGS?
Thanks and sorry for my bad english, i speak spanish actually
Any one please?

You need a OC kernel ... speedmod as a basic kernel just has the cpu stepping changed ... but does not enable OC
you might try this kernel

If you are able to really get the 12800Mhz share it pls with screenies. I am not sure that even desktop records are that high. But good luck on that
Here you have. I'm getting 12800mhz in a Modded version of SpeedMod that allows you to overclock. Official version does not allow you to oc.
But the problem is that in conservative governor won't go more than 1000mhz.

Well I am still seeing there 1280 and NOT yours 12800
But ok
oh ok i'm sorry xD added one 0
Anyone knows how to set convervative govertor to max: 1280mhz??
Hey, man.
Use voltage control app and set the maximum clock to 1280.
You should have the i9000b variant, just like me. I'm using this kernel too and overclock my phone easy with setcpu and conservative governor.
The Voltage Control app you can get from market.
Hope this helps.
Just to mention, I wanna could put the vcore higher than 1.3v to achieve 1400 mhz, but the limit is 1.3. That is so sad.

I'm really considering using an overclocking kernel as I read lots off good stuff about it.
But since it debends on your chipset I would like to have an idea of the average OC that is possible (and since there not really a topic like this in the legend forum I thought it would be nice to share our settings).
I've read most of us should be able to run the 806 one is that true?
Has anyone tried the dumfuq v3.5(9/17) yet? (link)
And last but not least what SetCPU settings do you use?
EDIT: Since I've now OverClocked my legend I thought I'd share my SetCPU settings for those who like to control there CPU themselfs.
If you have no idea what your doing please just use dumfuq v3.5 without SetCPU (Actually if you have no idea what your doing you shoulnd have OC'd but ohh wel)
Here are my settings:
main: 806/245 ondemand
screen off: 245/245 prio-100 ondemand
charging/full:806/245 prio 55 ondemand
batt<50: 600/245 prio 60 ondemand
temp>50: 400/245 prio 65 ondemand
im using v3.2 OC kernel 825...
V3.5 825MHz

What settings are u using? 245/245 sceen off 450/825 screen on? Is that possible with SetCPU?
It has the interactive governor from 245 to 825MHz. No need for setcpu
However you can use 245/245 and 400/825 with setcpu if you want

I'm french i wan't to o/c my legend with CM6 (2.2) if somebody can say me what to download and how to do exactly i will be very happy
looking hereh++p://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7513424&postcount=1 the version 3.5 (espresso, legend, or aria devices !!!!)
you must boot in recovery(clockwork from "rom manger") and "install an zip"(the overclock-zip)...then must have the "setcpu"-programm to set "profiles" ...
i`m germaner my englich very bad...

my profiles:

another thing, does i loose something like wifi ?
somebody try it ?
can i use oc on other roms ? ( not CM )
perfect for me !!!!
overclocking is only possible with CM 6!!!!

hi everybody, can i use overclocked legend for daily use or not?
do you have continuos reboots or not?
thanks
If you experience random reboots just lower the clock

Hello guys,
I decided to go with stock JVP, little O/Ced with Tegrak OC app.
The problem is that in my opinion there is still no existing optimal CPU governor for GB. The default ondemand performs very poor in 3D, conservative- poor in Quadrant's CPU and Memory benchmarks...
Is there any way we can use the Smartass governor with stock GB 2.3.4?
Thanks!
+1 vote for smartass cpu governor for i9000. Anyone tried compiling it?
Use this kernel as it has smartass gov, i use it and find it really good.

GingerDX V19..
in cpu setting > available governors.....what this is ??
smartass.
conservative.
ondemand.
userspace.
powersave.
performance.
This are the features? let your battery faster? I could spend the description of all? and which option makes the ROM faster?
smartass
Based on interactive, but better.
conservative
Available in some kernels. It is similar to the ondemand governor, but will scale the CPU up more gradually to better fit demand. Conservative provides a less responsive experience than ondemand, but can save battery.
ondemand
Available in most kernels, and the default governor in most kernels. When the CPU load reaches a certain point (see "up threshold" in Advanced Settings), ondemand will rapidly scale the CPU up to meet demand, then gradually scale the CPU down when it isn't needed.
userspace
A method for controlling the CPU speed that isn't currently used by SetCPU. For best results, do not use the userspace governor.
powersave
Available in some kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the "min" set value at all times.
performance
Available in most kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the "max" set value at all times. This is a bit more efficient than simply setting "max" and "min" to the same value and using ondemand because the system will not waste resources scanning for the CPU load. This governor is recommended for stable benchmarking.
Don't set governor to performance just because it's "performance". It will not increase your phone's speed in any way. Better use ondemand. For performance, I suggest ondemand. For battery smartass.
Smartass is based on ondemand governor but better and not on interactive
I got reboot when I enable smartass on gingerDX, any sugession?

Few solutions
- u must not exceed the overclock limit (710 Mhz). So, change it or dint use oc
-everytime it reboots, just enter xrecovery and clear cache and dalvik cache

I'm using LinuxDX so I didn't use oc, I had try to wipe but I still got reboot when enable smartass, btw are DSPmanager causing this?

Ldx doesnt support overclock, use alfsamsungs kernel.

LDX has known problems with smartass. the only workaround is to either flash stock kernel and revert or u need to do a fullwipe
Hey does someone know the overclock configuration that was posted on the Overcome page once? I'm running on Overcome 4.1 with the belonging Kernel which allows me to get to 1.6ghz (theoretically) and I'd like to overclock to 1.2ghz.
I'd be very grateful if you could help me
Edit: I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036020 but does this guide also apply to Overcome 4.1?
Just use Voltage Control or SetCPU. It's really not that hard at all. Just be careful with your voltages-overvolting will eat your battery more but may allow you to reach higher frequencies, and undervolting may get you better battery life but may make your tab unstable.
As a reference, I have my Tab running at 100-1.4 with smartassv2 and stock voltages on the Overcome 4.0 kernel.

thanks ;-) but which sheduler do you use?
for those who also have problems with overclocking and for
the newbies (like me =-D) I found this page which describes the usage of shedulers
and governors http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19846297
IO Scheduler: CFQ
Governor: Smartassv2
At least that's what I use on my phone. I just left everything alone on my tab.

thanks, you helped me a lot ;-)
I'm using Voltage Control on 1.3ghz with stock voltages on smartassv2 and deadline and it runs pretty stable
Thanks, useful tip for me too.
I use SetCPU
OC max 1.3GHz, min 100MHz
-75mV from 100Mhz --> 1.0GHz and then -50 from 1.0GHz to 1.3GHz
PLUS various profiles to set max to 800MHz whilst screen off etc etc
that's exactly the same that I did =-D=-D=-D
That's pretty much what I have. OP, sorry I couldn't answer your PM, my tab is currently bricked and I haven't had the chance to recover it.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
yea I have time =-D that's not so important, just make sure your tab runs again ;-)

This is what worked for me as well, just don't check"set at boot" option till you've tried that speed for a few days and you config proves stable.

Haha, I did check that option when I foolishly set the OC max to 1.6GHz
...I was just able to uninstall between one of the many lopping reboots
Anyway all, sorted now. In fact I have reverted to stock voltage for 1GHz up to 1.3GHz because playing Trial Xtreme2 would cause a reboot when I'd exited the game - seem's all ok now *touches wood*
how i configure CastagnaKernel OV for have max performance without trasform in cheese my cpu? what the governor? the i/o scheduler and the processor mhz?
Sorry for my bad english, but i am an ignorant
OV? Over-volt? do you mean OC? Overclock or UV? Undervolt
smartassV2/SIO (personal favourites)
245mhz/1800mhz (so default settings)
And I think you can better post this in the topic itself, and you will never turn your cpu into cheese, i once ran a benchmark at 2.016Ghz, and it just turned off

I remembered the cranium kernel at 2016 mhz..it became really hot...
Ondemand( little bit tweaked) 368 1804 sio...that s perfect
Q.D.E.
It would be better if you post this on kernel's thread I think there is no need to made a new post about that and sorry but and I'm not trying to be disrespectful. however you can use smartassv2 245-1800mhz that's a good choice.

the combination of default: lulzactive + sio is very performant (CFS version)
or you can try the governor lagfree
if you want the best reactivity using the BFS kernel version,
but is less multitasking
