are there any apps that implement the new usb host mode api for doing things like connecting cameras that mount as mass storage devices? or do I not understand this api properly?
USB mass storage is an app.

yeah I saw this app however it requires root which I'm not willing to do right now. just wondering since this became an officially supported API if anything has come out that implemented it.

I have the Logitech Revue with google tv and I was wondering if it would be possible to get that controller to work as a wifi keyboard with the NC. The revue is android and there are Apps that allow the NC to control the revue, I just want a reverse capability. Thoughts?

Although I'm not 100% sure about this, I've read that wifi keyboards are not supported by the Nook (or any android device, at least not anything from 2.3 and below). The hardware has to be specifically programmed to work with an app on android, and that is why the controller-type apps (like you're talking about, and also the one that allows you to control a PC) work but a keyboard wouldn't.
I've never heard that, but it doesn't apply to all android devices because my google tv is running android 2.1. I emailed the developer of the application that allows an android device to control the google tv to ask if reverse compatibility is possible. He responded asking what device in wanted to use the keyboard with. We'll see.

Is there a faster way to transfer files? I downloaded the infamous Kies but that didn't even run after being installed on my PC. When connected it shows up as a tablet and takes EXTREMELY LONG TIME to transfer any to almost all kinds of data. Is there a work around on this?

WiFi is the fastest, I there are a few apps that will handle both paid and free. Also dropbox is excellent for copying files too and from. And you can use the comp. Or es file explorer for ftp and shared devices as well.

why dont u change usb setting to mass storage and copy files using data cable. its faster
You should try AirDroid, work really well. Install app on device and client on pc.

Is there anybody using linux pc with o4x? Do you have convenient way to copy files from / to o4x. No matter what USB mode is chosen, it cannot be mount as a mass storage drive. Adb works well, but it is not convenient to push folders.
I'm using fedora 17. In contrast, the mass storage works well in the windows virtual machine with drivers installed.

You can use the MTP mode with some software, but for me it's very slow. For now i've been pushing small files via Google Drive; another option is to use a FTP server on the phone.
Ok. Thanks. I think I will stick to virtual machine wibrows.

Has anyone been ble to use Cifs manager or an alternative to mount a folder via lan to the phone such as it music or movie folder? I tried it and I got a invalid argument. I'm assuming this is due to missing modules? Anyone got any ideas?

Can you use airdroid? Or use a sdcard reader. There's more than 1 way to do this.
Sadly no WiFi and mass storage (card reader) support.only ptp
