Buy SystemApp Remover in Market....
Or get a new launcher and hide the icon

You can also remove system apps using Titanium Backup.

Ohh yeah forgot about Titanium

I cant the app in Titanium backup

I can highly recomend Root App Remover.
It's free and easy to use, but your phone must bee Rooted.

best app remover is titanuium, you can make a backup just in case you wnt to reinstall

+1 on Titanium.
I like the ability to freeze apps, rather than uninstalling them. I makes it that much easier to bring them back, in case you need them.

Best way to delete apps

Ive been adding a deleteing alot of apps since I got my phone. The usual "new toy" deal.
What the best way to actualy delete them. Ive been going through setting>apps>manage>unistall
When I got to the monitor it says my memory is only 23% free. Is this normal, or am I looking at the wrong thing? Is there anyway to install apps on the added microsd card?
Sorry if such a newb question.
Download titanium backup from the market, or uninstaller. Uninstaller gets rid of all apps you've installed and titanium backup can get rid of the other miscellaneous odds and ends.
Sent from my back pocket, using XDA App
hold down the app icon of the app you want to remove and move it down to the little trashcan that pops up but don't let it go wait until it says uninstall and then let it go. this will take you directly to the uninstall screen for the app. no need to install any other apps. hope this helps.
So, as far as your memory percentage goes, don't give it too much worry. I don't recommend any task "killer" apps to solve that though, they aren't good for you phone. A task "manager" app would be okay to use. You could also try unchecking the box to sign into Gtalk automatically (Find that in the Gtalk settings) or just not using so many apps at once.
The two posts above forgot to mention a few things. Titanium Backup requires root access. There's an app in the Market called OCLF (One Click Lag Fix) that can help you easily obtain this. If you use Titanium Backup, you can also remove some AT&T bloatware that comes with your phone, only if you want, of course.
ADW.Launcher will allow you to drag an app icon over the trash can that pops up after you long press on one. Just hold it over for a few seconds and it will ask if you want to uninstall it.
So, there are plenty of easy, free ways to help you out!

[BEST APP] Forget About Titanium [APPMONSTER Pro]

I found this yesterday and I have to share it.... This is a GREAT App for backup and restore of Apps. AppMonster Pro.
It does backup/restore/batches/etc... but a great feature it has is, when you install a App it immediately backs it up upon install in the background. It has a great UI, it is fast, and VERY no obtrusive.
No regrets with this one.
Search in market "AppMonster Pro"
Enjoy!!
Do it also restore widget? Titanium don't do it.
Nothing can restore widgets. That's why Titanium doesn't do it.
So does this app do all the other things that Titanium does as well?
Backup system data
Backup to Dropbox
Freeze/unfreeze apps
Move all apps to the SD card/Internal memory
Integrate updates of system apps into the ROM
Market doctor (cleans up Market links)
Clean the Davlik Cache
Create an update ZIP from a backup
That's the ones I could see, but I'm pretty sure there's more that I've missed.
Titanium is not just a mere app backup program
(As you may have guessed, I'm a big Titanium fan!)
Titanium can manage system apps too
Sorry for OT; but why cant Titanium and other apps backup widgets? :-\
I can 2nd this....I've been using Appmonster Pro for ages....it is absolutely AWESOME.
Really hard to use tho, as it takes a lot of steps...I will list my technical backup routine.......
1:Tap 'Appmonster' shortcut.
2: Click tap 'backup'
3......done...everything.
lol - AWESOME app.....eats titanium for breakfast, IMHO.

Hmm, i musta read wrong...i thought he said 'App Backup' ?
LOL... Yes, I am referring to App Backup. I see no need to backup System Apps since when you flash a new ROM they have System Apps. Build to build things change I using old "system" data can only create problems. I am not so lazy to spend 10 mins or so to set my settings after a new flash.
Other than the Ability to freeze a app TB has nothing useful (IMO). I use Autostarts to disable anything from running for no reason, and if I need to freeze it... I will just delete it from the ROM all together. If I don't need it what the hell is the point of keeping it around? Root Explorer and System/App/Delete is a good friend of mine.
I like App monster because it is simple and I don't have to remember to backup all the time. When I download something it backs it up. Also, If you have limit room on your SD card it will backup the Market download links instead of the .APK's.
Great App for what is "NEEDED".

LOL, it is not irrelevant. I am referring and comparing to "App Backup" as I stated... My point was posting a great Backup App and my reference to "Forget Titanium" was just that. The other features included are pointless, all can be a achieved VIA Apps "MOST" XDA'ers already have in their device.
So, if people are looking for a Great App Backup option with silent backup... "Forget About Titanium".

[Q] removing system apps

so like always I get my phone from verizon and there are just LOADS of apps that I don't want and will never use. the first thing I usually do is download my browser of choice (xscope) and then I will go into an application and click a link or an ad. you are prompted with a dialogue of which of the browsers you want to use to open I chose xscope and tick the box that says use this as default. I am then safe to un install the stock browser and not run into any problems. I also took out the ones I knew wouldn't interfere with anything like netflix, blockbuster, pre loaded game demos.
my question is , is it safe to remove these moto blur applications, I never use facebook on my phone, I don't twitter...they're wasting space and I'd rather just get rid of them, but my last phone was the moto droid 1 and it didn't have any of this blur bull****.
so are there any complications if I remove my facebook or twitter apps then I click someones facebook link and my phone explodes because it cant find the moto blur app? Also can I get rid of the backup stuff...and Im not sure why...but Gallery has been replaced with 'my pictures' and it has that ****ing red thing on the top which indicates it will upload these to my verizon account....uhhh no thank you....do I have to keep this or can I just install an old gallery and make that default?
I wouldn't remove them, just freeze them. Titanium backup pro is a great tool and really worth the money. There's a lot of apps that can be frozen and not cause issues, check the Android development for the Droid 4, there's a thread about which apps you can freeze. Removing them can cause instability with the phone, and no sbf files have been released

scratch that I did a factory reset and the problem still persists. called up verizon they said they were going to give me a new phone since I just picked it up yesterday. only thing tho...can I unroot my phone and how? should I just un-install superuser? I doubt anyone at the store is going to know its rooted if I just un install that.

Normally it shouldn't but....
Edit: Someone created a topic before, can't find it, he deleted the Playstore APK and Playstore stopped working, so if you're going to delete the stock apk's do it 1 by 1 and test if the app still works after you deleted the apk.
This is why I prefer freezing apps instead of deleting them, using titanium backup. (This does require root.)
Pulls the frozen apps from the menu, but you can unfreeze then on the go and use them again.
Ofcourse also prevents them from automatically starting, hate it when apps run that I do not use.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Apps safe to Freeze/Delete on AT&T GS5

Ok guys, I hope this helps some if not all of you. This is a list , or pictures, of apps that i usually delete or freeze depending on the app. Applications that may be used in the future like "AT&T Software Update" might be wise to just freeze. Applications like "Beats", unless you use them, I would delete them. If you are unsure of what applications to delete or freeze, it is safer to just freeze the application, as this leaves the application installed on your phone but it is no longer running in the background. When looking at the pictures, the pictures with items with a line accross, this are apps I uninstalled, the other ones are frozen. that are Many applications in the Google Playstore allow you to freeze or delete system apps, but I find Titanium Backup Pro to be more direct and easier to use.
DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility if you brake your phone, or find your balls after debloating the $#it out of your Galaxy S5.
List:
Safe to Freeze:
AT&T Hot Spots
AT&T Software Update
BlurbCheckout
Chrome
com.sec.android.app.sbrowserty
Device Help
ELM Agent
Email
Exchange Services
Gmail
Google+
Hangouts
Internet
Keeper
KLMS Agent
KNOX
KNOX Notification Manager
Mobile TV
My Files (ONLY if you have a third party file manager)
My Magazine
S Helath
Samsung Push Service
Smart Remote
Swype
Talkback
YP
Apps to delete
Use with caution, if you don't know it is safer to freeze.
waplauncher
AT&T Digital Locker
AT&T Messages
AT&T Mobile Recovery
AT&T Navigation
Beats Music
com.cequint.ccid (This is the ID caller app. can't remember the actual name)
ChatOn
AT&T Drive Mode
Flipboard
Google Books
Google Games
Google music
Google Magazines
Lookout Antivirus
Polaris Office
imsqmisocket (Can't remember the actual name)
Media
Hopes this helps. If it did hit "thanks"

Have you tried freezing S-Voice? That app is single handedly keeping me from buying an S5. I hate S-Voice with a passion and every time I get a Samsung phone, I put so much time and effort into disabling it, but it never goes completely away.

this is weird, I just rooted my s5 using towelroot and installed chainfire's SU then installed TiBu pro with no problem but when I tried deleting some at&t bloatware like at&t navigator.. it keeps giving this "cannot delete system app, unable to locate apk file"..anyone encountered this?
Is there another app that can freeze the AT&T OTA? I have app freeze and app quarantine and it doesn't give me the option to freeze it.
I don't have TiBu pro yet, maybe I'll buy it next month. Are there any temporary solutions to stop with the OTA?

Force stopping the service and renaming the APK in the /system folder should work (e.g. 'softwareupdater.apk.dontrun'). I don't know what the file name of the updater is though, so you will have to do some research.
freeze/delete
i have deleted all apps on the delete list and my phone is booting faster, and i have no issues and i have turned off some of the apps too since i dont have the paid version of titanium backup. all is fine.
Im pretty sure deleting system apps ruins your chance of getting an OTA update in the future, should you choose to want one eventually. I wouldnt delete any system apps. Freezing is fine.

this is my first android smartphone and only my second smartphone (first being iphone 3gs). I was wondering if someone knew what the apk name and location was so that I could at least for the moment rename the updater services so I don't have to worry about getting an update. I know most people talk about titanium backup and some other paid apps but currently I don't have the money to go that route.
I am still learning this and I tried to search to see if someone had any good alternatives to TiBu but I didn't find any results. I saw some things on the Verizon section but none of those files they mentioned were on the AT&T phones (and I was hesitant to assume they would share the same updater service).

This can be disabled using the normal Android app manager. TiBu can't find the apk because the app isn't technically installed on your phone, yet. If you tried launching the app, it takes you to the google play store to download and install.

No, because you can just factory reset and have it back.
be careful please do not tick ultra power saving mode after rooting and removing some apps, it has not been tracked to exactly what is causing it but it is happening to a few of us.
I removed the standard AT&T ****, isis wallet, the google crap i dont use and a few others with titanium, tested it out for a few hours worked great, had apex installed as the default launcher,
CLICKED ultra power saving mode to test it.. POW on reboot phone loads to only a black and white AT&T logo and it is dead there..
Even if you go into recovery mode and factory reset, the phone will now boot, but after unlock its dead no background and just a black screen the pull down up top works and to get into settings and the lock screen works and that is it....
going to download the 900A zip and try a total reset via odin... I'll keep you updated..
