Hi,
I am running the leaked 606 froyo stock ROM but I wanted the stock google email app so I wrongly decided to flash the google apps package from http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/ . However now I can't open any of the google apps and the email app is missing anyway. Could you please tell me which package either from that webpage or any other I could use to make it work again? Possibly as a flashable zip as my command knowledge is dismal. Thanks
I believe that the google apps package you installed is compiled/optimized for gingerbread so that might be why you don't get it to work. Try reflashing the rom over and all should be reset, if not you might need a data wipe before. Then you should be able to find the stock Gmail app in the market and you can uninstall/freeze the LG one.

dear developers,
I am eager to try the new 2.2.7 market apps. I tried to upgrade via applanet, but fail to instal, I tried update.zip and after I flashed it, the market apps is not there too. I tried numbers of APK but none were able to be installed!
I've tried uninstalling my market apps and market updater and it still won't install. So now I'm stuck without any market in my phone.
Any help? or a 100% GUIDE to install the new market?
thanks before
I had the same issue. I had even backed up the old market before I removed it but it didn't seem to work. The easiest fix in my opinion is this: Install titanium backup, backup everything you wanna save, wipe, reflash rom, flash gapps with old market, reboot, sign in, open market, accept terms, reboot into recovery, flash gapps with new market, reboot, optionally restore anything you want to restore via titanium backup. I'm not sure what changes in 2.2.7, but 2.2.6 is lovely, I love the new UI. I had force closes if I tried to install that market before installing the old version and rebooting/accepting license terms as I stated above, but this method took care of all the force closes. Also, you might find this interesting if you haven't already seen it yourself. Applanet forums stated that they intend to model applanet after the new market as well.
Also, just as a heads up, you're not likely to get a lot of support here for anything that could potentially be related to applanet because of the nature of the program.
I flashed the google apps and for some reason the market did not come up and every time i try to set up google account it force closes??
I'd say wipe and flash again.
nandroid or backup your rom if you need/want stuff on it.
Also make sure you have the most current version. If the one you have includes the new market update in it try to find one that includes the old market instead. I've heard some people have problems with that market version causing problems.
After going back to GB,
When going into Market (play), google says updates are available for Gmail, Youtube, Flash.
Trying to install the upgrade results in "invalid sdk version" (error message in french so I did my best to translate it) ...
I tried to manually remove youtube apk but still no luck reinstalling.
Is it possible that android market keep track of my previous ICS update and dont want to offer me GB apps ?
Thanks for your help !
i had this issue when I decided ICS wasn't for me at the time, I fixed the issue back then.
Recently I thought i'd give ICS another go but the way I have GB is perfect for my needs and reverted again back to GB untill all the apps I have are supported, yet again I've also ran into the same error but for the life of me can't remember how I fixed it.
Any help on this issue would be great?
I've tried reverting market, full wipe, dalvik, cache, flashing individual kernel, modem(back to what I had with GB) but yet still no success.

To test that question, simply do a factory reset on GB, boot up the phone, and attach another GMAIL account to the phone and download the same App again. If it works, you have your answer.
Maybe check the googleplay store on your desktop browser to see if there is some sort of "clear app history" option for that gmail account?
I tried your suggestion and it worked but it wasn't the method I used ladt time round, only problem is, when I restore my GB backup before I flashed ICS the market still thinks I'm on ICS yet when factory reset it works.
There is no differece with the backup compared to the format as I done the backup before any ICS related things were done, so I don't understand why the market thinks I'm on ICS with the GB backup.
Try recovery mode and clear cache, and delete data from it.

Yeah, already tried sevetal times, on other forums people say to wait until the market refreshes itself after doing quick flashes one after the other, apparently it fixes itself between 30mins to 2 days or so once play recognises your final Android version.
I recently just installed HydrogensICS on my phone and soon came to the realization that the google play store was missing, does anyone have an idea on how to get it back? Ive tried getting google apks of the internet but as soon as i open them they crash, im on a GT-1900T and if i dont find a solution i probably will have to go back to stock ICS, many thanks.
Look at the instructions page of the ROM you've installed. There shall be a link to separately flashable gapps (google apps) package. Usually zip file.
Licensing issues do not allow to include it directly into the ROM-s as far as i know.

I think it would be more easy to reset every thing by flashing the Official Firmware.
Download the official firmware from here and flash it via FlashTool.
Hope this helps you

ahh. the first time when i rooted my phone. just like you, i deleted many unuseful apps (facebook,games.. ). after that, i couldn't use market because i deleted google's apps such as gtalk. you should reflash your phone by flashtool. you will lost all data but you can use market again. remember don't try to uninstall google's apps. you can use titanium backup to freeze them (if you're not sure)

hmmm, x8 is too old and low hardware, you can't use facebook smothly. if you want to use facebook on stock rom, you shouldn't update it (i mean you have to use current version on stock. developers doesn't support android 2.1 anymore so next versions aren't compatible with your phone) or you can use via opera or flash custom rom.
