Hi everyone
Currently I'm experiencing an issue with my Micro SD card for my Milestone. Simply put, the phone always says that the card has been removed and unmounted.
At first i thought it was a software issue, however, when I booted to recovery and tried to run OR, it says that the card is not mounted and update.zip is not found. Therefore I'm inclined to think that this is indeed a hardware problem
tried another sd card, doesn't work. So i think the SD card slot is spoiled.
Is there anything that I can try? If motorola's phones are so unreliable that the sd card slot spoils without touching for 1 year, I will get rid of this phone. sad because Eyebee's MIUI is becoming a perfect rom to use.
Hello, I've had that problem with some class 6 cards, have you tried class 4 or class 2 cards?

Help,
After i flashed my KAISER i have a problem. The sd card is not recognised anymore. Is there a solution for this problem?
I hope so, otherwise i have a brick
Storage card problem
I always used a 4 gig card, just tried an 512 mb card, and that one was recognised. Strange isn't it?
First, which method did you use to flash your new ROM?
If you used the USB method to flash your new ROM, did you remove your SD card during the flash process?
If you used the SD card method to flash your new ROM, did you do a hard reset with your SD card inserted?
Second, do you have an SD card reader for your computer? I would probably try to verify that the file system and data are intact on your SD card. If you have an SD card reader, you can also use it to reformat your card.
If none of this is helpful, provide some more information to fill in the gap between your microSD card working properly and not showing up on your phone.
Re
I flashed to TPCV5.1 full today. No sd in my phone.
My cars reader in the computer doesn't recognise the sd card either.
Strange thing is , when i use an other 4 gig sd card, the phone still doesn't recognise it, my card reader on my computer does, so why not on my phone.
I had a 2 gig sd card, and put all the data again on it, and it's working.
Stilli have a problem that my phone won't recognise a 4 gig sd card.
So far my story.
Does seem odd. What file system is your 4GB card formatted with? If it shows up as "RAW" or anything, I would definately format it to FAT32.
Edit: I was referring to your "other" 4GB card. I don't think I have any advice for the original one.
Recently my SD card became "damaged" or so the Android OS told me. I have a AData Class 6 16gb MicroSDHC card. When it gave me the initial message I attempted to "format" the card, yet it simply "pretended" to format it and then try to mount it again, where it said it was damaged. I tried to wipe the SD card, then i tried to wipe my phone, and neither of those seemed to fix it.
I spoke with a friend in the XDA IRC channel and he showed me an article saying that its possibly related to a bad boot, where i had no battery and tried to boot my device resulting in a fried SD card. This seemed likely, but then when i tried to use ANOTHER SD Card (2GB Sandisk) this one had the same issues.
Both of the SD cards work in my laptop card reader, so I no longer believe it to be a Card issue, and more a phone issue. I was able to boot into recovery and partition the SD cards, or so it said it partitioned. And then i was able to put the SD card into my computer after partitioning, putting some files on it, and then wiping it in recovery mode. All with the card still "functioning" but as soon as I boot into Android it says that the card is damaged, and the card no longer functions on my computer and I have to reformat it.
Is this a hardware issue with my G1? Or a software issue? All of the articles I have read about related problems say that it is a bad card, Which is why I am confused that a new card does not work as well.

Umm I think its a rom issue personally. Have you tried to wipe and reflash a different rom and try it? Or even reflash the same rom after a fresh wipe. Leave sd card formatted on fat 32 let the rom boot. Let it settle down. Then if everything seems ok. Then part sd. The reason why I'm saying this first is because I've had issues like this before. But at least try this so you can start to try and cancel things out.

Hey!
Since a few weeks I have big problems with my SanDisk MircoSDHC 16GB Class 4.
My phone always tells my my card is damaged and I have to format it.
The 8GB card I use at the moment works fine...
Did some tests with another i9000 and his (same) sd card.
1. his card works for me
2. my card works for him
3. his card still works for him afterwards
4. my card is damaged
Initially I thought my card was broken but it works for him, then I thought my reader was damaged but I was able to read his card.
Any ideas guys?!
Thanks
I'm having a weird problem with a Nexus One. It had a 2GB microSD card in it that seemed to go corrupt (all the file names went crazy) so I reformatted it and it happened again within minutes. So today I bought a new 8GB microSD card and and the Nexus now gives the error of "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem." It is unable to format the card, but it doesn't give an error. I tried formatting the card to FAT32 on my computer, still the phone thinks it is blank/unsupported.
I'm hoping the SD slot isn't fried... any thoughts?
You could try reformating the SD card in a computer using SDformater with erase on.
I have the same problem for a few weeks now. My phone can't seem to read the sd card at all. Thought it was the sd card so I bought a new one, but problem remains. I know both cards work (have tested them in another phone and the computer reads them). I've tried formatting the card in the phone and reformatting with erase on using SDFormatter in my computer but my phone refuses to read it. Think it might be my sd slot as well...
Currently running CM 7.1.0. Haven't tried a factory reset or flashing another ROM (how would one go about doing that with no sd card?) as I'm not too keen to lose that data if I can help it.
Did you manage to fix it?
I was not able to fix it and after many hours of troubleshooting, so I gave up. Good luck to you, and please reply if you find a solution.
I added a 32G mSD in the ext slot. It is very slow to access and sometimes locks up Android File Transfer.
Anyone have any idea or a work around?
have you took any steps to remedy the situation?
if not please answer below
1. did you format from the phone or from your PC/Mac?
2. have you tried running diagnostics on your external card to see if its corrupted or not?
3. is SD card authentic? meaning was it purchased from reputable website or retailer?
4. have you tried with other SD cards and see if situation persists?
if SD card was received during the LG promotion, they aren't very good cards. both of my 32GB from LG (sandisk brand) failed. sandisk was nice enough to honor warranty replacement for both and works much better.
phone formated after diagnostic on Mac.
Amazon. SanDisc class 10. Brand new.
same issue with other cards in the ext slot.
please try format the card from your phone. see if that helps.
frankly, formatting from PC and phone shouldn't make any difference but won't hurt to try. my card is formatted via pc with exFAT. no issues.
it was phone formatted originally.
gave up and tried AirDroid, which had no issues.
I'm out of ideas at the moment.
I'll get back to you if I think of something.
