[Q] 3G incredibly slow after official update - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, all,
About four of five days ago I upgraded by Tab's firmware via Kies. Now the 3G data connection is painfully slow. I connect via Wind in Italy. Here are some other details:
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000XXJMF
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.XXJMG
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?
Should I consider changing it to an unofficial ROM or a Gingerbread ROM?
I hadn't connected to Kies for a long time because I didn't have too many problems I couldn't live with.
Thanks in advance!
And yes, I did search for this problem but couldn't find anything particular to my circumstances.
Scotty

Wind is t-mobile frequencies. What modem (baseband) did you have before the upgrade?

I don't know. I've never upgraded the firmware and bought this here in Italy when it first came out last October, if that tells you anything.

Settings > about > baseband.
What do you see?
Does the thing end in JPZ?

[Q] question about galaxy S model differences

So I have a galaxy S vibrant SGH-T959. I recently updated to the leaked 2.2 and its awesome. So I was talking to a co-worker who has the galaxy S I9000 dxjg4 and he uses that on AT&T but he'd like to get some 2.2 action on it. I wasn't aware of the various different I9000's there were until today, I just thought there was the 4 for the US carriers and the I9000 for everyone else.
What can I load on his phone? Are the ROMs mostly compatible between all the I9000s or are they just as different as one for a vibrant vs his phone?
What is different between all those i9000 models, is each one for a specific carrier? Is there a universal unlocked one that isn't tied to any carrier?
If I wanted to get an I9000, is there any specific one that's the "good" one to get? gets the fastest updates, etc? Where would you even pickup one of those? Do they have a model that does 3g on both Tmobile and AT&T?
Thanks,
-J
No dice? Someone has to at least be able to answer SOME of these questions? Where did you guys get your galaxy S i9000s? Some internet site?
The t-mobile galaxy s vibrant you have doesn't have a front Facing camera and uses a different radio chip to support the 1700 (AWS) frequency that t-mo uses.
The international galaxy s I9000 has front facing camera, fm radio support and uses the standard international frequency.
The Bell (Canadian) galaxy s vibrant (I9000M) is same as the international one except the radio is change to support the North American carriers (850 frequency instead of 900).

As a new owner of a SGS I was hoping someone could assist in identifying my particular model and if the Froyo OS update is available for it. KIES was not any help, says this model already has the most current version.
Phone info:
MODEL: GT-I9000T
PDA: I9000TUBJG5
PHONE: I9000TUBJG7
CSC: I9000TUUBJG4
FIRMWARE VERSION : 2.1-update1
Baseband version I9000TUBJG7

Again, thanks to any who respond.
recommend you search around and flash to jpy..then flash either the jp2 or jl3 (part of canadian jl2 firmware) modem all in odin.. then do factory reset... then you may have to use sgs info to make sure 850 mhz 3g is enabled..

Can I upgrade software from present location?

Dear all,
First, I'm from the Philippines and I purchased my Galaxy Note from a local appliance store here first week of December.
Checking the software version of the unit indicates the following: Android Version: 2.3.5, Baseband Version: N7000DXKJ3, Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-N7000DXKK1-CL706642, Build number: Gingerbread.DXKK1.
The software for the phone is stock, and basing on what I have read on the forums so far, upgrading it may lead to an improvement of the phone's battery life.
Question: As I am in the Philippines, is there a way to officially upgrade the software version via wi-fi (or OTA as I assume the term means "Over-The-Air"), OR is there even an available software update where I live, since every time I try doing so, I always get the "No Update Available" response from the server?
Thanks in advance for the help and advanced happy new year to all.
Bump, help please? Or a link to a previously discussed solution? Thanks.

Bad signal everywhere and the call cuts off

I have a problem with my phone, it is a Samsung Galaxy S I9000T. I have android 2.3.6 running, it is stock firmware. The original firmware that was on it, (2.3.3) and now:
Buildnumber: gingerbread.XWJVU
firmware version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: I9000XXJVU
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVU-CL851880 [email protected] #2
The problem I have a bad signal everywhere and the call cuts off, . I do know that at the original firmware that was on the phone, signals were good.
With a bad signal I mean that I have zero, or I have no service at all
(im living in the puerto rico)
I already tried messing around with the band selection in service mode of the phone.
My original IMEI is intact.
I read the problem consist in the modem, because I need band 850...
for then my question is that modem used with a stock rom(ginger 2.3.6 JVU) with 850 band compatible.
I thank everyone for his or her response

First check IF you have a new firmware for your region http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 and there are also modems on that page which you can change
or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548815 ..these modems may or may not work for you, so read the entire thread to find out where it worked and what modem to use.

i9000 modem trouble

Hello every1,
I have an i9000 with 4.1.1
3.0.42-00746-g6564605-dirty Devil3_1.3.1_Hellybean_cappy_CFS_BLN_CMC #524 Kernel version
i9000XXJVT Baseband version
that drives me nuts, because i have poor reception of wireless signal.
I`m not good at this, and i don`t want to mess it up, so i am at your mercy to fix it. I assume that whoever upgraded it to 4.1.1 *i recently bought it of Craigslist), did not put the correct modem in it (my carrier is AT&T prepaid).
Pretty please tell me what i can do to change my reception for the better.
Thanks a LOT
