Before Task 29 I was using DLW Series 002 ROM which was buggy and slow but had the Youtube working.... After I perfrormed the operation and re-flashed the ROM I couldnt play any videos! I thought "Ok its a broken ROM I'll get a different one..." Today i flashed Dynamics 2.2.1. with Manila 2.1(I performed Task 29 before the flash) and it still cant play it! In Opera Mini 5, when I open some video, there should be a snapshot from the video and "Watch video" button, but there isn't anything there... And the Youtube app is slow and laggy.. =(. Does anyone know what is wrong with my phone or have I done somthing wrong? PLEASE HELP!!!!
I don't think thats because of TASK29 have you tried to install the same rom you had at the beginning were youtube played smooth?
In Opera Mini I never hat a snapshot with watch video button.
its has nothing to do, actually with the snapshot, but with the fact there in no any kind of option or button that could start the video!
1. You blame something not related. Task 29 has nothing to do with your problem!
2. I believe it's server related. Might be Opera policies or youtube mobile policies.
*Remember that Internet is dynamic, they often upgrade their website and system.
Opera mini is browser with compression capabilities. After you click a URL @ ur browser, Firstly, Opera server will render the original web page to a smaller size page to its server and then your browser download and show the resized web page. It's the reason when u'r checking the IP, sometimes it's showing not ur real IP.
I also doubt that your problem is in any way related to task29. Task 29 simply erases the internal storage of your phone and then that storage is once again recorded by the new rom.
I think you should look for the cause of your problem in a completely different direction. Maybe Opera, Youtube or whoever did indeed change something while you where updating/ reinstalling your rom. Such coincidencies happen. Or your old rom did not natively support Youtube and you altered something which you don't remeber anymore...
According to me it is technically almost impossible that task29 is the cause for your problem.

I've installed tcpmp & flAsh bundle to watch youtube video but I get this error when I try to play or save any video...
"Videoloader"
youtube swf args not found
Please Help
same error here.
I'm getting youtube vids fine, and i use TCPMP with the FLV 0.4.2 plugin (not sure if that's the same thing, but if it is, you can shoot me for my lack of knowledge)
I Use the one from Dutty, and it works good.
I uninstall and reinstall also the dutty but it gave me same error.
Is the program should be installed on the pda memory or on the sd card?
Are you viewing them on the website or YouTubePocket?
No, i use normal www.youtube.com

Uninstall any versions of tcpmp & flash bundle, then Install the versions below - tcpmp first, then flash bundle, then soft rest. That's it - full youtube vids will work now.
is it working now for you? I mean, at this time. Isn't possible a problem on youtube? Isn't it?
I've got always same error as above... It seems it cannot handle video with the core player

Wow, I thought this was impossible. I've had Flash installed once and it froze the hell out of PIE and Opera. Maybe I'll try these and see what happens.
I should probably also ask what browser you are using? Opera Mini isn't cable of Java and flash right?
**UPDATE** Gave it a shot in Pocket IE ad it says Media file type not supported. I got Tcpmp installed as well, leats I think its a current version.
I'm using IE on wm6.
Hi,
I experienced the same problem with the same configuration.
I think youtube's currently modifiying its way to display the video through
the desktop version of the website.
Unfortunately, the Htc device's owners (maybe the others mobile WM6 owners)
would not be able to display the youtube's video in the future.
I hope it will not the case !
I'm using WM6 with explorer on my xv6800. I removed all other TCPMP and Flash bundle versions and installed the ones that agrif78 provided earlier. Still sadly no dice. I still get the same errors whether I choose "play file" or "save file".
please bookmark this page
it updates whenever youtube changes its files

then just possibly, we may have fewer posts about youtube and tcpmp
Ok I installed the newest version of vTap This little app will allow you to search specific videos and play them, so if you happen to know the title of a video clip you want to watch, this works great. It also displays the web address of where the video is located and I have successfully played some from the youtube. However it will not allow you to play videos directly from the website.(or at least if it does I have not figured it out, maybe someone could shed some light on that tidbit of info?) In short, you can seek out specific videos by title and watch them, but you still can not watch them directly from your web browser on the youtube site. But at least maybe I can still watch some of my favorite funnies until someone smarter than me comes up with a better solution. I'm pretty new with the whole smartphone and pda scene so if I have left out anything then please feel free to correct me. I hope maybe this has helped out some folks.
sorry about that ekw. I just noticed the post. Thanks for the info!
flash bundle
i got it to work. the main thing is to remember to do a soft reset after installing player and bundle
Help Plz!
plz, i'm installing the flash video bundle on my WM6.1 and i have this error:
Failed to install. Could not install the program or the configuration because it does not have the necessary permissions system.
I'm currently using Skyfire as my browser. The only other browser I've tried is Explorer. I have one complaint though. When you click on a link to a media file, Skyfire sometimes automatically starts playing the song, video clip, etc. and at other times it gives you the option to download the file to your phone's main memory or to your memory card. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I would prefer to download the files and watch them later. Unfortunately, the only type of file you can manually download using Skyfire's menu is an image file. There has to be a tweak or a work around. Skyfire can download small files really fast (when it wants to), and I really enjoy this browser other than this one major drawback.
If there is a browser that will let you CHOOSE whether you want to play the media file within the browser or download it to your phone to play later, please let me know. I'd be willing to pay for it. I was reading on the Opera website, but I got the feeling it will only manually download images and not other types of media files, similar to Skyfire.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I am new to the world of mobile internet. I'm wanting to save NCAA basketball video highlight clips (mainly mpg and wmv) to my storage card, so that I can impress my friends.
Use opera 9.5 built QVGA
All Problem Solved at once, Have Fun
Installed Opera. Keyboard issues...
I like Opera. It responds well when using touchscreen, but it doesn't like the keyboard controls on my tilt at all. Is there a tutorial or a setting I need to change? Also, when I installed Skyfire, I made it the default browser. Is there a way to make Opera the default browser? Is there a setting like in the menu of Skyfire? Finally, someone warned (in another forum) that this version of Opera cannot be uninstalled once you have installed it on your phone. I haven't tried to uninstall it, but is that true? I was hoping to someday install Mobile Firefox and ditch my other browsers. I guess I would have to do a hard reset and start from scratch.
sorry this was a duplicated post so ive erased it

How does WMD work?
Sorry...lol...meant WVD. Would I have to use Explorer to utilize it?
I read that flash doesnt work on opera but i can access you tube which requires flash, it says underneath the video i need flash player yet it still works why is that?
I dont think opera mini would ever support flash.
After all, opera mini is not a real browser, but it shows prerendered on server pages/images. If it supports flash in the future, it will be something like Skyfire's flash support.
I would love to have decent flash 9/10 support on Opera Mobile 9.7 (including flash video and excluding the ugly flash positioning problems that occur now). That will be something much appreciated.

After all OperaMini is a fantastic browser.
Flash 10 was supposed to be supported soon, I remember reading this few weeks ago, by Microsoft.
I agree - that's the last element we really miss here.
OMini is kicking ass especially in slow data transfers, literally the speed is almost the same. But I doubt it will have flash....
OMobile is great only on high speeds but it eats so much data - and battery.
Anyway OM 9.7 with a real flash = amazing.
Yeah but my point is, why did it still play the you tube video even though it said i needed to instll flash 10

It always played this outside OM.
OMini Beta 5 and OperaMobile 9.7beta are available through Opera sites.
Opera mini sucks IMHO. Maybe version 5 will change that, but who knows?
I use Opera 9.5 and if a certain site crashes it, I use skyfire for it. CorePlayer handles YouTube videos perfectly.
hello dudes....can anyone help my because i cant open youtube or any videos with opera....i have installed many programes and stuff but nothing works.....
1: Which version are you using?
2: Have you installed the flash lite plugin?
3: If using Opera Mobile 10 Beta 3, have you enabled plugins in settings?
A little info would help us help you...

Opera guys said that can be watched "decently" in an HD2, but with phones below these specs flash can be "from poor to <don't remember>"
When I try to watch videos X1 gets veeeery slow and this makes me quit Opera but this is possible in 70% of the times with soft reset.
yes i have an x1 and i have opera 10 beta....but i still cant watch videos with opera
But you MUST have Beta 3 and go to Settings > Advanced > Plugins On
ok....thnx a looottt....it works......thnx...

I think this is more flashlite problem than hardware.
Skyfire can display videos very smooth (compared to flash lite) and phone wont freeze (you can easilly quit, switch page etc.) but i dont like skyfire, i want full flash on my opera
I wish we would get full Flash 10, but since adobe discontinued wm6.5 and i totally dont like wm7, i guess i will have to move to android(if apple lawsuits wont kill it).
All this hype around Android made me buy a SGS. Having flash on the browser was one big reason for acquisition. Soon I discovered that flash isn't what is promised, a desktop experience on my mobile device. I say this because most of the time (like 95%) the flash works so bad in my browser, that is barely usable. When trying to watch streams, mostly on news sites I get a message with "The video is not optimized for mobile" and the playback is choppy, sometimes when seeking, takes 10-15 seconds until the choppy playback starts again. If I try to watch something in low quality it works fine, but most of the sites offer good quality video. I expect more from a 1Ghz cpu...
Is this a problem of my device or is it general ? I have the latest Adobe Flash available on the market.
What firmware and kernel are you using?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Do some research... if you are using the Default browser, open it and in the address bar type:
about:debug
and hit go...
Now go into your browser settings and at the bottom there should be an option to set the UA String, select Desktop....
Downside:
some sites will still see your device as mobile.
you have to re do the fix Every time you load the browser...
Alternative:
try Dolphin HD broswer, it has a US string setting in the options already and only needs set once.
Downside:
Is a little slower to load pages than the default browser.
some sites will still see your device as mobile.
An another point, if you are using 3g... don't expect miracles!
sadly he's right ;( its not even working properly over wifi so i cant really say the net is the problem.
id say the problem lies in flash itself and/or its something in the memory management since ive seen stock roms delivering way better flashperformance than any custom so far, so possibility is that the stream freezes and has to rebuffer every time the memmngt cuts the memory, else you could just try to flash ubuntu and see if it works any magic ;P what do it know for all its worth it could be tha b0mb
good luck anyways !

Solution: Flash a custom JVK Gingerbread rom and DO NOT install the flash player from the market, but use the one that comes preinstalled! This way you'll have 720p flash videos playing smoothly.

I guess its rather a problem with some websites.
I never had problem with Flash player 10.1 or 10.2 (i am MIUI rom but i had previously JVK)
No problem with my SGS but i dont use flash that often so it could be as said some sites .
Use Dolphin HD browser mostly .
The video is not optimized for mobile" >> could that be the clue ???

I have stock JS4 ROM, sorry forgot to mention this in the main thread. Also I am using flash only via Wifi. Actually I am using Opera Mobile and I've set the UA to Firefox Desktop one. Gonna try the idea with stock browser, maybe Opera has messed up something.
