Buy new Nexus One? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, it's about 9 months since I lost my N1, and I still miss it. I just haven't managed to fall in love with the iPhone 4 I got to replace it.
Mine was one of the original AMOLED ones shipped from Google when it first came out (ATT bands I think).
If I could still get a new one with AMOLED and the same bands I would.
Anyone know where I might be able to pick one up?
Best phone I ever had.
Thanks.

Google don't sell them anymore. If you want a N1 you will need to buy a used one.
good luck

[Q] Where to buy One unlocked in San Francisco

Hi all, a friend is now in SF and i asked him to buy for me a new Htc One.
He only found At&t and Sprint store, but i don't want to risk with the sim unlocking.
Does anybody know a store where he can buy a sim unlocked One with no problems?
Thanks
In the USA your only going to be able to get it from a carrier if you buy at a retail store. All the international versions that people are talking about are purchased from online websites. Where are you going to be using the phone?

In Italy.
I read that Sprint is a bit strange with the sim unlocking, so i don't wanna risk.
Instead At&t is possible to be sim unlocked with a code also using unlocking sites.
Btw, my friends says that At&t won't let him buy the phone until he does 3 months of contract..it sounds strange, maybe my friend don't wanna buy the One for me anymore
Right now with inventory issues, most carriers are unwilling to sell there phone out right. They are having a hard time fulfilling contract orders why would they sell you a phone by itself when throngs of people will buy it on contract. Only people I've seen buying it standalone is T-Mobile and that depends on what stores you go to.

[Q] Exchange Developer Edition for T-Mobile Version

I am in a dilemma. I bought the Developer Edition of the One, but I use T-Mobile. As we all know, HTC shot themselves in the foot by only making the T-Mobile version of the One pentaband. Not even the Google Edition is pentaband (doh!). Does anyone have advice for what to do with the Developer Edition that I am stuck with? I was thinking of trading it for a T-Mobile version + $50. But I know that websites like Craigslist are shady. And I was actually scammed on eBay after selling another Developer Edition One (buyer claimed the phone wasn't present in the SEALED box, and they believed him).
Does anyone know of a reputable, honest site I can use to trade my One?
Thanks

Craigslist is hardly shady, just don't be stupid. Meet at a coffeeshop and ensure it's a tmobile One before trading. I use it all the time and have never had a problem, while a few friends have had problems I'm pretty sure they're blessed with an extra chromosome
There's also swappa.com. they are only verified users.

I should probably meet in a T-Mobile store to make sure the IMEI isn't blacklisted, right?

I have always done my phone sales and buys at the phone store. Its usually kinda busy so your not going to get murdered and you can have it checked as well...
Swappa is the best online resource though. Sold 3 devices and bought 1 with no issues

[Q] no contract Nexus 6 from best buy?

Hi There,
I'm going to the states next month and would like to buy a Nexus 6. I don't think i can buy one from google play since i don't have an US address and credit card.
Does any of you guys know if it's possible to buy the phone without contract in best buy? and how has this worked with the previous models?

The US phone has different 4G bands to the 'Rest or World' N6 so things like 4G might not work. If you're in Denmark just buy it when available in your country (or from another EU country) to avoid disappointment
I'm in the US and interested in the OP's actual question. Can one buy a phone, in this case N6, from Best Buy, without contract?
Order it and ship to the address you will be at?

I don't see why you WOULDN'T be able to. Be the same as going to Best Buy and buying something like the Note 4 off-contract for the full price as far as i'm aware.

I have had that thought and have looked up the bands my Danish carrier users and the ones the American N6 supports and it should work. But your right i should probably wait and get the european model with a quick charger that fits our sockets.
I have a buttload of BB gift cards I need to use up
Will best buy offer the pre order also? I have a few gift cards also.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Is there an advantage to buying @bb (such as return policy or warranty)?
I don't think so, just have the gift cards to get rid of.

I have the $200 gift card from where I preordered and bought the AT&T Note 4. Returning it because of the locked down BS. Got to have my root at the very least.

[Q] Nexus 6 at BestBuy?

I've been waiting for the Nexus 6 carrier-free to come to BestBuy. At this time only the Sprint and AT&T Nexus 6 are available in the store. I can't buy a carrier one because I have to take the phone abroad for someone else.
Any idea when the carrier-free Nexus 6 will come to BestBuy? Or any other suggestions of where I could buy the carrier-free Nexus 6?
Motorola.com
I doubt we'll see an unbranded Nexus 6 at Best Buy.

Get it from Google Play Store or Motorola.
If you get it from a carrier such as T-Mobile (you have to look it up yourself) their phone is not locked to T-Mobile. You will however have to pay off remaining EIP balance or pay for the device outright and have at least 1 month of service.
Sprint Nexus 6 should be SIM unlocked and can be used wherever.
Yup, the only variant that is SIM locked is AT&T's. I would have bought the Sprint version from BBuy, but they want $699 for the 32gb. I don't think so.
I recommend giving swappa a serious look. 32gb blue N6's are going for 700 flat all the time (with shipping included). Consider if you got "lucky" enough to buy one from Google Play or Moto. You'd need to pay $649 plus tax and shipping. That will easily put you above $700. And then you'd need to wait weeks in order for the phone to leave the warehouse.
I lucked up and talked a seller down to $710 shipped for a 32gb white. I say I got a great deal.

Would BestBuy match the GPS price? Or even the Sprint.com price which lists it at $648?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Oh well. I would've chosen Google Play or Motorola.com but I haven't been lucky enough to be able to order from them.
Another question, if I buy the unlocked Sprint Nexus 6, will it be exactly the same as the unbranded Nexus 6? Or will there be bloatware or something like a sprint logo on it? And also will it work outside the USA?

No Sprint logo. "Bloatware" would be determined based on the SIM card.
Work outside of USA..... find that yourself with the bands in your country to the Americas model.
So the Sprint Nexus 6 will be almost exactly like the unbranded one but just $50 above the normal price?
And if I get the Sprint one can I just take it abroad or will I have to use Sprint services for a certain period of time?

It will be exactly the same, but yes more expensive. The only one that is any different is one from AT&T, but even that is essentially the same phone (model number-wise). If you are buying it for outside the US, why not look into the International variant? Or has it not released where you want it yet?

I have to get it for a friend living in Asia and it hasn't been released anywhere but the US and UK yet. If I get the Sprint version of the phone, will I need to use Sprint services for a specific period of time or can I just take the phone abroad?

Verify that the bands will work in China or have the signals that he wants to utilize.
For sprint I'm not sure, ask their customer service as they'll give you a answer. You'll have to buy the phone outright of course.

Nexus 6 At&t

Is the 32gb blue currently the only option available? Also will buying from att lock boot loader
You can always buy the phone from Motorola and Google play store.
No carrier or seller will lock the bootloader.

OK just wanted to double check.. Is 32gb the only option through att as of now? I know I can order 64 from Motorola but I can't afford that out of pocket.

Correct. Only the 32GB version in Midnight Blue is available from AT&T. I just got one today as a matter of fact! It's got a unlockable boot loader but I haven't done that yet.
Thanks for clearing things up folks
I read somewhere that at&t will prolly never get the 64gb.
I unlocked and rooted mine before I even set it up! I know this device doesn't have a SD card slot but with my mini flash and otg cable, I have no need for the 64gb.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have otg as well and find my multimedia collection I keep on my phone not as big as it used to be so I think I'm going to give the 32gb a try. Always had Samsung phones. Love the note but this is the first nexus that I've seriously considered ')
There are some really good deals for USB OTGs right now.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ..._mmc=EMC-GD122914-_-index-_-Item-_-20-233-649 Promo Code EMCWHHA23 ($18.99 32GB)
(~$28.99 64GB using promo EMCWHHD66)
I really like how you don't need a USB OTG cable with this flash drive as it is included on the physical drive as well as a USB 3.0 plus Corsair is a well known brand name with good customer service.
Nice. Who has been able to get a N6 from an at&t store? Not order, walk in and buy one..

Hmm. Most around the twin cities say no stock
Not sure where to ask, but can I flash the Factory Image onto a carrier N6?
EDIT: Not sure it's going to matter after finding that the AT&T devices are SIM-locked, which would prevent me from doing everything I want/need to with the device anyway.

You can carrier unlock it at any of the normal cell unlocking websites... $10-$20, depending on where you get the code.

Walked in and bought one the day before Thanksgiving. The website was still showing it wasn't in stores, so I called around. Second store I called had it, so I went and picked it up.
Ya online is useless for checking stock
Finally located a few in stock so I might go check it out tomorrow.
