Hi everyone,
first of all, thanks to everyone willing to help a newbie! I have been struggling to be able to use Cisco VPN (VPNC) on my SGS.
I have read many guides, and they all seem to point to the same steps: I have rooted my phone, but now I'm missing the TUN.ko library VPNC needs to run. I have read many forums, and it seems there is a particular tun version for every kernel which I need to install.
When I try to insmod the tun.ko version I have I got the following error:
"2.6.32.9-27220-g328f560 preempt mod_unload ARMv7 should be 2.6.32.9 mod_unload ARMv7"
Any chance anyone might lead me to what version of tun might work for 2.6.32.9? I would be amazing if someone can help me.
Thank you in advance
Kind regards,

hi guys,
need some help setting the vpnc app (widget) on my samsung galaxy tab with android 2.2. I rooted the device but when running the prerequisites it says i have no TUN support. I somehow have to find a file where I should have config_tun=y but i can not find that exact file. I searched a lot on the forums before deciding to open this thread and the conclusion is that I have to install the TUN.ko module. But the steps I found to do this are not helpfull for me since I can not find files or directories specified on my phone: I can not find config.gz file, i do not have modules dir in the /system/lib....
If anyone can help please do so.
So te question would be: "How can i enable TUN on samsung Galaxy Tab android 2.2 ? "
Thank's a lot
Keep up the good dev work !

Hi,
I am sorry to post such question but I am not allowed to post in proper thread due to be new here,
due to generally accepted rules I am not alowed to post images too, so you have to believe me
I have this configuration:
gt-s5830i
s5830ixxla1
2.6.35.7 [email protected]
MindCr rom v2.1 bglh4
when I use CIFS manager with parametr iocharset=utf8 I am not able to mount network share but without parametr iocharset=utf8
mounting is possible.
So here is my questions:
Is it in kernel 2.6.35.7 [email protected] utf8 support included ?
CifsManager works only after "manual" loading cifs.ko (via insmod)
I think that solution is in loading another kernel modul nls_utf8.ko.
Is it possible to compile 2.6.35.7 [email protected] with nls_utf8.ko to for completing the function of cifs mounting ?
Is possible to point me for download proper nls_utf8.ko to solve my problem ?
Thank you very much
