[Q] Is there a theme that... - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has the Froyo status (notification?) bar with the Froyo stock icons
Does not have the notification pull-down toggles
Is compatible with 2.3.3 and/or 2.3.4 ROMs
That is otherwise stock-looking (non-Samsung) Android
Works with Serendipity 7
I've been looking for a theme like this, and I haven't been able to find one carrying these traits.
If there isn't, how would I go about putting one together, and is it possible to do it with the remnants of TouchWiz abound in the ROM?

That's a very niche, unpopular grouping of requests. I doubt you will find a theme like that. Here is how you can make one.
Start with a serendipity theme and edit the png files in the framework-res.apk. there is a tutorial in the theme section. To get the froyo icons find an old froyo theme, and pull them out. I think the toggles in the notification tray are hard baked into any samsung based rom. You can change the icons, but you cannot remove them.

Metamorph on rooted stock rom

Without loading a custom rom can someone point me to a metamorph theme for a dark or translucent notification bar? I took a look at the forums but they all seem to need custom roms.
I want to use this method to get a rooted phone just for the purpose of changing the notification bar so I avoid burning the screen in any more.
Burn in?
The framework needs to be de-odex'ed before themes can happen. Which means custom rom.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for when that happens.
If you look at the the area where notification bar is when it's hidden or when you're in a dark fullscreen app you can still see it ghosted on the screen since it's constantly bright white. Quite annoying. I've already got some - hoping to avoid more.
Don't have anything like that on mine...
Many of us have the burn in, me too. Black bar eliminates it.
You should look into modaco ROMs. Modaco ROMs are designed to be close as possible to stock ROM, with the ability to theme and customize them if you wish. Just install r20 modaco and metamorph the bar you want.
A tip is search the forum for black matte theme. That's what I use to combat my screen burn in. It's an amazing looking theme, you won't be disappointed.
since you rooted the phone, you could install the custom RA recovery and then flash a stock rooted Froyo ROM which has been deodexed and then you can go on from there

Metamorph Themes that Work with Froyo

I wanted to start a thread that people could post their results on which metamorph themes work on what Froyo ROM. Obviously we have Kevlar Froyo Mash (thanks KV looks great on KFCv24). Was just wondering what else had been tried and worked.
I have tried a few different themes (some of which have taken on KFCv24) and will report back asap. And i will also provide screen shots.
Edit: Thus far I have found certain portions of Dr. Cloverdales Magic Elixir...
Browser.apk--->changes internet icon to look like google chrome
calender.apk
camera.apk
contacts.apk
ADW launcher.apk--->themes the ADW Launcher
music.apk
phone.apk
settings.apk--->changes the settings icon and the look of the settings menu
vending.apk--->changes your android market icon to the grocery bag
There may be other portions of this theme that take I have not wanted to change the various apks.
There is a metamorph icon that will change the the stock green lockscreen button to blue called BlueRotary that works with KFCv24.
I believe I have taken pictures of the different changes and they are listed below.
Elegant steel is working. A few status bar notifications are missing but everything else is fine.
good froyo metamorph
kevlar froyo v1 and v2 are nice. if you dont like the stock white notification bar you should try this metamorph out.
I use a metamorph that was made for Cyanogen 5.0.8 roms and haven't had any issues. I like the simple black and white idea. You can find it here: http://jbthemes.com/dr_cloverdale/Black_Effects-v3.2.zip . Original post can be found here on XDA at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673044
In case anyone is curious, this has worked on KaosFroyo, CELB 1.4, and Tazz's roms too. So good for AOSP/Cyanogen hybrids and Cyanogen roms.
updated first post with pictures
i got the minimalist black from the android theme board working on my cyanogen 6.0 ver 4 on the eris. some things are missing but i think thats the theme. also im in love love love with froyo i cant find a bad thing about it.
Pretty much every theme I've tried has worked fine, but not 100%. The fonts and colors never change for me, just (most of) the icons and the framework.
Has anyone been able to morph the flat phone on a froyo?

All themes will work with froyo by simply changing file names and putting all the images in the framework-res drawable folder.. Just an FYI.

I'm using minimal matte on Tazz's ROM. The only thing that didn't work for me was the icons, but I didn't like them anyway

Meshdroid
You should check out the meshdroid, for 5.0.8 cynanogen. It looks like most of it works and it looks great
Both of my themes work.

This theme looks really awesome. I like the way the sub pages trail off like they're on the other side of a cube. And the effect of the driod image kinda floating in space is a great backdrop!
I'm running Cognition 2.3b3 on a rooted cappy. It is really an awesome combo, whatever kernal/lagfixes etc are on this rom, with its widgits and interfaces-->> it rocks!! Blazing fast, rock steady, smooth are words that come to mind.
Any info on the compatibility of this theme with the Cog Voodoo rom?
Thanks for posting the screen shots.

[Q] CM 6.1.3 task bar mods?

I am trying to find some battery/ signal icon mods for the taskbar. I remember using a taskbar theme via metamorph a while back, but cant figure out which one it was or where i found it.
Where are all these to be found? And which are compatible with cm 6.1.3 for the DHD? I should say i am looking for the stock sense icons at least. They work much better at 200 dpi.

Help changing lockscreen transparency

Just like the subject says.
I am now running the leaked Gingerbread on my Droid X
I know when 3.4.2 was leaked it, the notification window was not transparent, and someone manipulated services.jar and then the transparent png in framework-res.apk would then show truely transparent or to the degree of transparency we wanted.
The lockscreen on GingerBread is slightly transparent, but not enough to see the wallpaper that is selected.
Does anyone know what controls this? Is this also located in services.jar?
I would be extremely grateful if I could get some assistance on this.
On 3.4.2, I combined the water-marked theme, Blueberry theme, and much of my own work and had my phone themed to my personal liking, and would like to complete that for GingerBread as well.
The non-transparency of the lock screen is bugging me and I bet i'm not the only one.

[Q] HTC Sense dock and status bar on CM7?

Im running CM7 and i love it for the speed but i'm not a fan of the dock or status bar, as a previous user on Sense on my HTC Wildfire i loved the UI and really want the dock bar and status bar on CM7. (note i'm not bothered about having any of the icon pictures changed).
1) If there is a mod to install that is cool with me and id slightly prefer it than a theme because from my understanding themes are less than perfect.
2) If i have to have a whole theme (i imagine i will) i'd prefer it to be for ADW but launcher pro is also fine. Take note the status bar and dock must be included and work, i don't care if the icons have been changed to the HTC icons or not.
Thank you in advance!
(Ps. Before someone comes along and says have you tried searching the answer is yes however, I only found poor themes without dock bar. Also i am very busy currently so didn't have a lot of time to look in fact i barely had time to write this out. Anyway sorry if this is a easy thing to find but iv'e told you why i havn't found it).
You could try LP sense UI. It looks just like sense dockbar. It is a launcher pro theme. Just look for it on 4shared. I don't think it is available through the market. It won't change your status bar. You will have to look through cm7 themes and find one close.
There's an HTC elegance theme you can find in the cm7 theme sticky

The best way to get a Sense notification bar is probably to use the Ultimate Onlline Kitchen. Use the empty theme Mendozinas provides, add the Sense notification icons, and cook. You should be all set.
Thanks to you all I chose to use LP sense UI which works great and especially like that it brings the fake sense widgets with it. Will probably also use Ultimate Onlline Kitchen to gain the Sense notification bar. (Assuming that they don't interfere with each other but im guessing they wont.)
Look up NT sense
Signatures are fancy.
You should check out my sense theme for cm7. It is essentially LP Sense UI but i've included dozens of sense clocks, NTSense, and many other themed Sense apps. There is a link to it in my signature, if you do try it out, could you give me some feedback? I stopped working on it because nobody responded and I assumed nobody downloaded it. Could you show some love?
