Im new to the whole rooting of phones and heard that the original droid was an easy phone to root. I have a droid 2 that a buddy of mine rooted and kind of understand the basics. Any help would be great.

I didn't I used my neighbors computer to root mine. I wish I knew a way to tell you but I haven't found one sorry for the bad wording in post. If I did figure it out trust I would share because there has to be many with that problem. Sorry again.

Unlocked? You mean root available?
Not a bootloader unlock as I have seen. Am I wrong?
I have seen that it has been thought the root exploit should work on the bionic as ut is a vulnerability in moto phones that is being used.
In theory the same method should work. Let's cross our fingers

[CM7] on Droid Bionic with dual boot!
This is an amazing hack by Hashcode! He built a hack to load CM7 on the Droid 3 that will also work on the Droid Bionic! I tested it on the Droid Bionic today and it worked! (ya I am crazy)
Now you need to note that this is in the begining stages, but with us Devs teaming up, this can be great!

Some of us have benefitted from the Chinese radio from the XT883 very useful. Also changed my am/pm sign on the lock screen to Chinese lol. That was caused by the build.prop though.
What brought you to choose this phone over the others?
