Hi kings
Is there any procedure somewhere on how update the radio firmware on nexus one?
I can the .img radio image with cyanogenmod but cant find how to install it.
ROM CM6 RC3

Well first we need to know what radio you are currently using. Go to Settings -> About Phone and look under Baseband. You are looking for the first three numbers after the underscore in the middle. Post your version.
Thanks for your reply. The baseband version says 32.19.00
That doesn't look right. Can you post the whole baseband version?
Oups my mistake.it is 4.02.02

With the .IMG file you can flash through fastboot or you can download the signed update file and flash custom recovery. Recovery is easier for people that arent that great in fastboot.
http://www.mediafire.com/?yzv4jlkyfng
This is the newest radio version already in a .zip file. just throw it in the root of your sdcard, boot into recovery and select flash zip file and select the file.

this is the other froyo radio. same process as the other.

I never use recovery to flash a radio, always fastboot. I would advise against it, but to each his own. This is correct instructions, you beat me to it

I didnt use recovery to flash radio also, but I have an N1 with locked bootloader and fast boot doesnt work with locked bootloaders. Kinda sucks having to use flash_image each time. But The 2 files that i posted up, ive personally used and flashed radio recovery and havent had any problems with it.
Thanks guys. I see 2 versions, 4.x and 5.x which one should i go for

It depends on you. some say 4.x is better some say 5.x is better. Everyone has their own opinion for radio, roms, etc.
Mmnn last question, would it matter if i install 5.x and roll back to 4.x if needed? I guess not but justto be sure

Nope. Just be careful and not let the phone die during a radio flash process. it can brick your phone.
Radios are the one thing you have to be extremely careful when flashing. Interrupting the radio flash is basically the only proven way to brick a phone.
Make sure you have ample battery charge, have your phone plugged in, and DON'T mess with the phone while it works it's magic. I can't stress this enough.
Wouhouuu i have the 5.x now im thankful guyss!

You can flash the radio using fastboot anyway, because radio isn't a custom build and is signed with authentic keys, allowing it to be flashed with the regular locked bootloader.

I flashed to CM6 RC3 yesterday, and it works pretty nicley.. BUT, I forgot to flash the radio before flashing CM6 RC3 so my question is can I flash the radio now even after CM6 RC3 or will that brick my Nexus One?
Reason being, 720p recording will record but FC on playback, sometimes I get an error messege that says the video is not supported.

You really don't need to flash 1.8.3 before you install 4.5.91.
I flashed 4.5.91 right over my original stock 1.8.3 and it worked without a hitch.

almost everyone here is rooted with cwm. if you have cwm the install wont work, you need a fresh sbf off 1.8.3, not to mention that you could have caused a brick because of your cache not having update.

As far as we know this is the final build, kenneth also confirms the leak he got running on his phone is 4.5.91. theres other things in this build that give it away as final. no bugging tools, and no extra motorola testing apps.

I'm not sure what your talking about. I'm rooted with CWM as well. I cleared my cache through CWM and then installed the Gingerbread zip. There is no reason I should have caused a brick to my phone.
CWM is needed for the install.

This is 2.3.4?
This is kennethpenn's stock system.img from BriefMobile. I deodexed the system and framework and rooted it.
This is a stock deodexed app and framework. That is all. Use ./moto-fastboot flash system system.img to install it. I made this so i can keep data as i continue to build from stock up. If something gets borked i just flash the .img and start over will all data and most settings in tact. I am posting it to share for anyone who wants to have a stock deodexed image to base their personal rom off of. Begin with the deodexed system and hack away. if you break something flash the system again and keep all data.

If you want a cwm zip of the system it is basically the same thing as Kennethpenn's beta 4.5. IMO cwm is more of a PITA than fastboot ever will be.
I won't have to because faux123 already did HERE

I have used faux's and edgan's kernels before but I thought it would be nice to have a clean stock one as well in case I need it. (I often revert back and forth between stock and custom stuff).
Anyway, I thought your's is the closest to stock but with deodex and root.
If you say kenneth's is pretty much the same, I will use that.
Can this be flashed on a stock and locked ATRIX running 4.5.91 OTA to deodex using moto-fastboot?
I know it states in the OP to use moto-fastboot, but doesn't clarify if you need to be unlocked or not. I know you can use fadtboot to flash preinstall for root being locked but curious as to the system.img

Here's the zip of the OTA that was pushed out. It won't install through either CWM or TWRP, so can someone who's more knowledgeable in these matters make it flashable?
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/821854/OTAPkg.zip
And in case it helps, here's the log from CWM from trying to flash it manually:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/821854/recovery.log
And yes, as with any OTA, you run the risk of losing root, etc. But for me, I really don't care. I've even tried pushing the included stock recovery, but it doesn't work like this. You get a phone with an exclamation point over it (I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about) when you try to boot into that recovery. A quick push of TWRP back onto the phone fixed that error, but I still can't flash the update, obviously. Anyone want to take a crack at it?
Thanks to nuclear_eclipse for getting this and the log for us!

That symbol just means that it doesn't know what file to use for the update; this is part of what get's communicated somehow from the OS to the recovery during reboot, but I'm not familiar enough with the way recoveries work to know how to trigger that myself. I would assume this is a similar mechanism to how ROM Manager et al can tell CWM/TWRP what to flash.

That makes total sense. I guess it's not automatically checking the folder that Software Update puts it in. I've got another 22 hours until I can get Software Update to check again. I'll push the stock recovery before I do that, unless someone makes this flashable through TWRP or CWM before then.
In my stock Rom thread there are new files up. They are the ota roms. So if you are running stock, download the odex one ending in 1.08 and flash in recovery, no need to wipe data. Then pull boot.img and fastboot flash it. You now have the ota software. I will post instructions to upgrade the firmware that came with the ota

If you unlocked the boot loader, rooted and have TWRP custom recovery, you just need to :
1. Download rom and gapps to your phone. Links should be found in the OP of the ROM's thread. If you wish Google to restore your apps be sure you have selected the backup-auto restore in settings.
2. Do unencryption now if you wish.
3. Boot into TWRP recovery and wipe a couple times.
4. From TWRP, install the rom and gapps.
5. Reboot system, sign into your Google account and let it download and restore your apps.
6. Reboot system once more & you should be gtg.

I would think for sure a wipe or two. Boot loader, maybe. Radio, at your discretion.

I checked. Instructions and prerequisites are in the OP of the Chroma thread.
I also updated my Nexus 6 with 5.0.1, unlock and root, to 5.1 without losing data. I just had to re-root it afterwards.
I used Wugfresh Nexus root toolkit.
In short I used "Flash stock + unroot", in which I selected "Enable no-wipe" and "force-flash".
After this I rerooted the device from within NRT.

Well can you be my guinea pig and flash chroma without doing everything else? worst thing that could happen is it not boot into the rom and wrong radio will just make your phone not pickking up signel intil you flashed radio. but chroma dont say anything about flashing bootloader so i dont think its needed.
BTW ims still on rooted stock 5.0.1.
