have you checked your drivers bro?

Just remember to rollback your drivers afterwards if you want to flash with ODIN again...
Make sure you use the frontend version of Heimdall to flash with (more like ODIN)... If you don't understand about the drivers you probably would be lost using CLI...
Bet you're scratching your head and wondering what that means.....

And the usb debugging checked?
*#7284# usb set to pda?

Thanks guys because of you guys i was able to fix that problem,Nut i am unable to install cyanogenmod 7 on galaxy. It give only samsung logo and hang there,I have also wipe cache and factory reset but doesn't work in this i was using cwm version,Afterward i also try to do with odin,It flash other kernel perfectly, but doesn'tlet me flash cyanogenmod 7

You also need to wipe dalvik cache.
I had a little trouble too, did you re-partition the internal sd card and format it ext 4?

Install the WinUSB driver from the heimdall driver downloader if you're running windows or if ur running Linux or Mac then install those drivers.

Don't forget to try other usb ports on the pc - not all ports are created equally.

Just download the required Files in your Laptop, use CWM> mounts and storage> copy files to your SD card and flash
Install kies and adb. That will ensure that you have all the drivers. Just make sure that kies is not running when you want yo use odin.

I used this link originally to root my phone and it has links for windows drivers for samsung phones.

I also think there are drivers in some of the Odin packages you can download.

Help! I accidentally deleted my OS

I know this is probably the stupidest thing one can do and since I mediocre knowledge about Android stuff I just did that. While I was on CWM recovery mode I was tinkering around the settings and I accidentally deleted the OS, this leaves me soft-bricked (is that the term)? When I boot up on recovery mode again it says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." But when I connect it to Kies it doesn't detect the phone! And when I boot up download mode it says I have Custom binaries (it says 3) which I suppose is because I had CWM? I have no idea how I could re-install my OS back to my phone and am panicking since this was my first phone. Is flashing back to stock firmware a viable option if I accidentally deleted my OS? Or so I have to do some other process? Please I am in dire need of assistance here!

Yes just flash back stock firmware with Odin.
That custom binary is probably from the time of GB because root method was increasing it. You can use Triangle away to reset it, it is free on xda.

I have kies and I always close it before opening, doesn't appear. Even the switch port thing doesn't. I'm going to try out 3.09. Since I accidentally deleted my OS doesn't that mean Windows won't detect it even if it's on download mode? Sorry I really have no idea what I'm doing. oh yes I have the Drivers installed.

Odin does not have anything to do with system partition, I mean it will work anyway. Do not just close Kies, go to task manager and kill it (in Windows).
P.S. If you have any ROM in your sd card, you can go to CWM and install it. Or if you have some other phone, put SD card in it, copy ROM and install it in CWM.
Gonna use this topic becaus i think i have simmilar problem.
So i rooted my phone and installed sucsesfully a custom rom with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198341
Then i wanted to install another cutom rom and i booted into recovery and it was not TWRP as i used it when i installed custom rom but CWM, and i dont know what was i thinking i installed over it again CoCore + TWRP
So i do have acces to TWRP but i cant install anything, i get constalty this error:

How can i fix it?
Thanks for help

Stuck on Philz boot

It's been months since I had the rom 4.2.1 official from samsung with root access. The phone is somehow a lot slower than earlier and I wanted a fresh rom install. I tried to download the latest cyanogen through CWM but it gave me error. I wanted to flash the omni 4.4 kitkat through Philz but it was always giving me an error no file_contexts set_metadata_recursive and aborting installation.
I then had the insane idea of clicking 'factory reset - wipe data' I thought it would bring back to the last rom flashed....but it didn't. Now whatever I do, I go into the philz menu (i have all my data backed up I only worry about putting a fully working and FAST rom, the phone was getting stuck every few seconds).
I can access to philz and I can access to odin. What is your advice? What could I flash next? I also read that kitkat is not running well on the gt n7000....anything recommended for my situation?
******SOLVED
I flashed from Philz 5 with CWM 6.0.3.2 a cyanogen 10.1.3 from the microsd and it worked. I wrote on the microsd from a microsd reader.

odin detects the device on com port, kies detects the phone and I installed the usb drivers. BUT kies stays stuck on 'connecting...'
The only possibilities I have are philz and odin. Device is detected but cannot connect looks like. So I cannot flash anything apparently.
¿Did you try Odin with phone in download mode? Vol- + home + power
Enviado desde mi GT-N7000 usando Tapatalk 4
yes phone is in odin download mode. i connect the phone, kies stuck on 'connecting'. odin on windows find the com port but cannot connect.
If I try to flash .zip files from microsd through philz 5 interface, i get the "set metadata recursive some changes failed" error....followed by 'installation aborted' press any key.
This means I am stuck because I cannot flash stuff with odin from windows, and I cannot install zips on the phone from the phone.

i think something has changed just now. i'll wait till i finish downloading the stock rom to flash with odin and then see what happens.
But actually main question is: why can't i flash a rom with philz? I have put two roms on the microsd (one omnirom and one cyanogen official stable) and I keep getting the installation aborted message

Did you ever consider (in the nearly 5 years of XDA membership) that it might be a good idea to read the installation instructions for the rom you want to install or to search for an error happening to you. If you didn't consider this until now: the time has come to start.
And if you do not like to accept the help members offer it is essential to do these two activities youself.

I read instructions of course....my problem was not related to instructions (although i think my recovery mod was not compatible with the omni rom i was trying to install) and that kies thing was an anomaly. I had to wait till the stock rom finished downloading to reboot (windows asked to reboot after some time....maybe related to the installation of usb drivers but i am not sure).
Finally through Philz I was able to install a cyanogen 10.1.3 from the microsd....why I got the error with those other roms is only part of my ignorance, as I said maybe the recovery i have was not compatible (???)
thanks anyway, if I need odin to recover root access or something I'll follow your instructions in case it still doesn't recognize the connected device.
Of course your problems are related to instructions and not reading/understanding. Because these problems occured many times and were solved and got part of tutorials, q&a etc.
i searched the forum, found a couple thread entitled exactly like mine. I think one of them even had the tag 'solved' in the title. Problem is, who solved the problem never included the solution, so what is the point....And I don't get this aggression, obviously if I have a problem I try everything to fix it. I would read instructions and I also googled a lot to understand why i was getting that error from the recovery zip installation....it is not like I don't try, why wouldn't I want to solve my own problems? Also people were receiving that same error with compatible recovery / roms images....and got around the problem with many tries but I did not find any particular solution written anywhere.

[Q] Cannot install CM11 and TWRP recovery on S3 mini

Hello guys!
My goal is to have Android 4.3+ on the phone.
I'm trying to install CM11 on GT-I8190. I follow the instructions from Nova fusion. After flashing with Odin the phone doesn't boot. I just see the logo of CyanogenMod and that's it....
When I enter the recovery, I see a stock one: Ansroid System Recovery <3e>... But CM11 ROM from NovaFusion already comes with TWRP recovery!
I already tried to install CWM and TWRP recovery separately via Odin. But it doesn't have any effect.
What can be wrong with the phone?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Writing this post for the 3rd time.. When I try to preview it, I have a token problem and all my writing is lost....

Some s3 mini's can't replace the stock recovery with a custom recovery so it means you have to flash it manually via root access.
1. Go back to stock ROM. Simple download a Firmware from sammobile.com/firmware and flash it via odin3
2. After that root your phone with vROOT. How to install it on your PC and how root your phone with vROOT :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459910 (enable USB debbuging first before you start rooting)
3. Download "ROM manager" from Google play store and install CWM recovery
4. Download "TWRP recovery 2.7.1.0" from NovaFusion : novafusion.pl/download and flash it via CWM.
4. Download latest CM11 Version and flash it via TWRP recovery
(do a nandroid backup first to avoid mistakes and don't forget to make a factory reset otherwise your phone won't boot and will stuck in bootloop)
5. Enjoy CM11
If you have questions or problems, then let me know

I've already installed stock ROM (UK version)... I8190XXAMJ2_I8190BTUAMJ1_HOME.tar.md5 But I downloaded it not from the website that you suggested.
Anyway, after flashing stock rom the phone works, but I cannot copy any file to the phone... Windows 7 says: "Unrecognized USB device". Maybe I installed the wrong version of ROM? I am sure it is for GT-I8190, but maybe the country is wrong? Does country matter?

Thank you very much!!!
I took another Galaxy S3 mini phone (I have 10 of them)... And my laptop can recognize it. So, I've managed to root the phone, installed ROM manager and then installed CWM, TWRP and latest CyanogenMod!
So, with other phones that I didn't touch yet I plan to do the same procedure.
My country is Russia The origin of the phone might be something else...
The first phone is still not recognized by my laptop. Other PCs don't recognize it either.
Just to remind what I did to the phone before it became like that:
Using Odin - installed CyanogenMod 11.0 (following simple procedure from the website)
It didn't load, so i tried older versions of CM and tried different recoveries with Odin...
It didn't work. Using Odin, I installed stock firmware GT-I8190-UK I8190XXAMJ2_I8190BTUAMJ1_HOME.tar - Android JB 4.1.2 (from sammobile website)
And then I was happy until I realized that my laptop now doesn't want to recognize the phone. And the phone doesn't want to recognize my laptop.
May be this info will be helpful to find out the origin country:
When I type *#1234#, I see the following:
Code:
AP: I8190XXANC2
CP: I8190XXALL2
CSC: Unknown
When I type *#06#, I see:
IMEI: 3547840580817xx / 01 (BTW, in russia you cannot track a phone by it's IMEI... this technology is not implemented in this yet)
Maybe I should try flashing 4.1.1 instead of 4.1.2? But I couldn't find 4.1.1.

HELP! Samsung Galaxy Ace possibly bricked ?

Hello guys, I'm new to android and I tried to root and is trying to install CynogenMod on an old Galaxy Ace.
I rooted it using a 'updated.zip' file by following an online guide and proceeded to install ClockworkMod.
After installing CWM and rebooting, I continued Cynogenmod . I realised that I cannot access the recovery menu(black screen). After failing many times, I reset the phone to factory settings and now the phone doesn't boot up.
However, I still can access download mode...
I there anyway to fix this ? Hope to get this phone fixed soon..

It's just a soft-brick so nothing to very about Since you can access the Download Mode, all you have to do is flash back the stock rom using odin. Now to unbrick your device, just use the following thread,
All Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Stock Firmwares (2.3.X) Ever Released
First download the required firmware for your region from the first post. Once you have done that, go to the link in the second post. Download all the files (usb drivers, odin and ops) except firmwares (which you have already downloaded from the first post) in the "Preparation" section. Now install the USB drivers and follow the "Single Firmware File Installation". Once you have finished flashing, go to stock recovery mod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace which you can install from stock recovery mode (always root first and then install CWM),
