Hello, i'm having a bit of a problem and i'm sure this has been asked before but I haven't found an answer.
I just did a clean wipe and installed the new RC1 for CM7. I've never come across a problem with their past roms.
At work, i'm listening to music with my headset connected. Icon comes on like normal, music playing only through the headset however when I receive any type of notification (SMS, Emails, Facebook, Twitter), the sound plays through both the headset and the external speaker.
I've tried going through the settings but I am at a loss on what to do.
Has anyone come across a problem like this with any idea on how to fix?
Thank you.
There is a setting in the cm settings for that. It's under sound, "always play on speaker". If they're unchecked maybe try checking them and rebooting and then unchecking again.

yeah, it was a bug in some of the 7 builds, you should use a newer build

Hello,
I rooted my LG P990 and installed JMCyanBreadMOD, and afterwards the most recently nightly (CM51) of that time. Before one of the CM installs, I could make calls and listen to music from my phone over my car's audio system. After the CM install(both of them), only calls would function.
When I request bluetooth music in my car, I see the media player is launched, but that's about all that happens. It seems to be kept paused. Explicitely pressing play to have it continue playing doesn't help either,I see the time bar moving, but hear nothing.
The CM's bluetooth settings for the connection to my car's audio system are set to be used for phone and media.
I'm wondering, since calls do work, perhaps I missed some setting somewhere ?
Or is it something that simply isn't fully developped ?
Somebody got an idea ?
Many thanks

It doesnt work with cm7 yet. Try modaco if you really want/need it

Hi, make sure your Bluetooth support A2DP.
However, if your bluetooth heatset doesn't have, you can try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649059
I don't guarantee it work or not, however, NvFlash is always there for you. ;P
I am wondering which would be the best/simplest way of fixing this simple and somewhat stupid issue which reminds me of old Motorola phones that would not ring AND vibrate.
When a wired headset is connected, the ringtone and most other sounds/notifications only play through the headset. This is a problem for me because I don't want to miss calls, have my headphones on constantly or unplug them whenever I'm not wearing them, then having to fumble with wires whenever there's a call.. This is especially annoying while driving and it just doesn't make any sense that the ringtone would play through the headset only, unless music or other audio is already playing.
I asked the Swedish Samsung support about this and they said this is just how it is made to be but that there could be an app somewhere which could let me change the setting. They recommended a paid app (Headset Droid) which, telling from the description does not seem to be able to do anything of the sort.
What I have noticed is that the Viber app still rings through the handset speaker.
I presume there is a config file somewhere which would let me change the setting if the phone was rooted but I haven't gotten around to and haven't had any strong enough reasons for rooting yet.. I would if there was a solution to this involving rooting.
So simply put I would like the ringtone and notifications to play through the handset at all times or maybe even both handset and headset.
I'm running Kernel XBKK4, bought in Sweden.
I have now rooted and will try some other kernels/firmwares to see if that solves the problem.. or possibly finding a configuration file. I'll keep you posted if I find a solution.
I flashed the DarkyROM 3.3 and now it actually rings from the handset. Problem solved!
It would be interesting to know exactly why, could it be that the stock phone app has been replaced?
Hi peoples!
I recently got my pebble and installed the app, but since I installed the app I've noticed something odd with my phone. When any bluetooth device connects, media playback will switch from the speakers to the earpiece, and bluetooth headsets wont play/control music anymore. When connected to wired headphones itll play, but the default audio buttons will change the call volume, not media. After 10-30min it reverts to how it should be...at least until a new bluetooth connection is made. This persists whether pebble is connected or not, or if the app is installed or later uninstalled. Is this something to do with the pebble's connection to the phone, and if so is there any way to fix it? I've tried a full system reset on the phone and it's good for awhile, then changes again. Is it possible to just reset the audio drivers?
For some background information, I'm using a Galaxy S4 (Verizon) running 4.3 and no custom/root software. Both the Pebble app and firmware are up to date (as of 12/10/13), and accessibility services are turned off.
I'd appreciate any help I can get, thanks in advance!
What media apps are you using? Some apps such as BeyondPod have a setting on whether they send the song info to the bluetooth device or not...turning this setting off will correct some issues.

I got my Pebble two days ago and I've used it twice so far in my car with no problems. I use a Bluetooth receiver which I plug into my cassette adapter since I don't actually have a car system that has Bluetooth. I've also been able to control the music from the watch with no problems. I use a N5.
I got a N4. No problems over here. I would look over the settings of whatever apps you use! And play around with those.

Hi all,
I've spent the last day trying to solve this issue and searching for answers on xda and elsewhere but there doesn't seem to be a solution. I have an HTC One, rooted, s-off, and running ViperOne. I recently upgraded my data plan and no longer have to worry about conserving my data each month so I started using Pandora in my car via Bluetooth. Bluetooth connection from my phone to the car has never been an issue. However, when I run Pandora, initially it has no problems connecting and will start playing a station right away but then when a song ends (and the screen has turned off), I always get the message that Pandora is unable to connect. Once I wake the screen, it magically starts playing the next song. Then when that song ends, the connectivity problem happens again and the only way to get it starting again is to once again unlock my phone, which is not exactly safe if I'm driving along and trying to be a safe driver by not fiddling with the phone. I've tested this out in the same spot in my home using my home wireless internet, and it works flawlessly. Even when the screen is off, the next song will play. Once I'm back on LTE, same problem happens again. I've already disabled the Power Saver option to not turn off data connection when the screen is off and turned off Sleep Mode. I'm wondering if this happens to anyone running stock software on their HTC One? Going through the ViperOne thread, it has appeared to be an issue for others as well. Thanks
Im on stock TMO HTC One and have streamed pandora, siriusxm and google play music many times on my way home with no issues.
Mainly through the headset jack. But for a few weeks i did use the HTC audio bridge A100 to stream music via bluetooth and that also had no issues.
Try to test another BT device OR if your vehicle has a stereo headset jack input try that. See if you get the same results.
Thanks for the quick reply. The problem seems to occur whether or not I'm using Pandora in my car via Bluetooth or just running Pandora by itself in my house as background music.

Any luck finding an answer to this? I'm having this same problem with TuneIn and XiiaLive, and haven't been able to find anything.
I've also completely uninstalled Viper Audio, so I'm thinking that isn't the issue.

I ended up wiping and re-installing Viper and the problem didn't happen anymore. I have not had any problems since. I think the thing to make sure of is that on whatever app you're having trouble with, to make sure you're not restricting background data for it in Data Usage.
Hi,
I have VW Passat with AA (MIB3 based system). Android Auto works in general, but there is a problem with applications like ReplaIO, Spotify and sometimes even TuneIn.
Those start to stream audio "into nowhere". The sound volume control does not work then either from the panel or from the steering wheel. What I do to enable sound?
I need to run ANY Google based app, like Youtube or Youtube Music/Google Play Music, then stop it and switch to another app. Then it plays correctly, with sound.
Anyone got same behaviour in the car? What is the reason? Any workaround? This is not happening when same phone plays via Bluetooth, there is always the sound.
Only via AA connection, there is a problem. Later, after my manual workaround as above, switching the sources (FM/DAB/BT/AA) works correctly.
But if I disconnect the USB cable and connect it again... no sound from AA
Please help.
As far as I know, this is an ongoing bug. To reenable audio when the bug occurs you can simply dial to some phone number (best and easiest is if you call a number with an automatic answering machine), wait for the answer and then disconnect the call. Immediately you will get the sound back. In my car, when it happens, there is no sound at all, in any app, the only way is dialing.

Well, for sure the problem exists, but it seems we need to live with that. No fix until now from Google. I wonder if this is related to Android 10, have anyone tried that with earlier versions?
In my case (just tested), the phone call does not fix that. The only way for me is to play some song from Youtube Music, pause that and switch to Spotify, for example. Then it plays normally.
I suspect this bug is related to sound focus/sound routing/mixer.
This bug is related to AA only and it is happening in Android 9 also, maybe not everyday, but from time to time. I have a Note 10+ with Android 9 and a Peugeot 3008. In my case, the trigger is, almost always, the lack of internet connection in my underground parking. If the phone is connected to my car's display through AA, and if I try to play internet music (spotify or other internet radio app) before I get out from the parking and before my phone gets connected to the internet, then the music app gets stucked and the sound from any app disappears. Only making a phone call and waiting for somebody to respond or restarting the phone does help.
